On the Lake - Page 2 Empty Re: On the Lake

Lily (and Mya) half expected that sticking her neck out like that would lead to swimming whether she likes it or not, but she's not prepared for the entire boat to capsize. She lets out a loud shriek as she tumbles into the water, spluttering a little as she surfaces. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF MERLIN'S BAGGY Y-FRONTS WAS THAT FOR? YOU RUINED THE CHEESE!" she shouts when he surfaces from rescuing his wand, and promptly splashes him right in his laughing face before succumbing to hysterical laughter herself.

Gideon is enjoying himself way too much right now. JS. He laughs and laughs - he's glad he can have such a fun time with Lily. Mhm. "Well, now I think it's the Giant Squid's cheese - I hope he likes it." He says once he finally calms down enough to speak and has wiped the water from his eyes. "You didn't leave anything in the bottom of the boat, did you?" He asks as he keeps treading water, because if he has to dive to get something else, sooner is definitely better than later.

Inner!Lily is grinning way more than I've ever seen her grin. It's a tiny but unnerving, actually. Still laughing, Lily quickly checks her pockets. She hadn't brought anything with her but her wand, and she's relieved to feel it still in her pocket. "I'm good," she assures Gideon, smoothing her hair back and treading water. "Don't know why you'd say the water's fine, though - it's freezing!" she says, starting to swim about a little bit to try and get her blood flowing.

Gideon begins swimming slowly back and forth. "Actually, now that I'm pretty soaked, it's colder than I thought. Shall we go inside, maybe? It's not exactly warm out here in general, now that I think of it. Unless of course, you'd like to stay in here a while longer," he grins, ducking underwater again. As he surfaces, he flips his hair, sending a thin spray of water across towards Lily.

Lily wrinkles her nose at the thin spray of water she cops from Gideon's hair flip, swiping a wet hand over her face. She bites her lip to keep her teeth from chattering, because the cold is very much getting to her now. "Let's go inside - death by pneumonia is definitely less cool sounding than even death by ghoul in the Shrieking Shack, so we'd best not chance it," she smirks. She glances at the overturned boat, and then towards the shoreline. As they'd been having their boat picnic, they'd been drifting slowly in, so they're within swimming distance. She gestures to their capsized vessel. "Should we try to... or shall we just completely abandon ship?" she asks.

Gideon blinks, as Lily bites her lip again. Good thing the water is so cold, he supposes. Mhm. "Okay, sounds like a plan. The boat can stay here - we can always come back for it later, once we're warmer. Can I escort you to the shore, milady." He offers, indicating his back, in case she'd rather a ride on his back as he swims. Well, she can't say he neglects her.

"Alright," Lily says, and a wicked little grin flashes over her face as Gideon holds out his hand to her. She takes it, moving her body closer to his through the water but stopping in front of him, rather than holding onto his back or shoulders. She kisses him, then puts her hands on his shoulders to dunk him under the water. "Race you!" she calls over her shoulder, already swimming for the shore as fast as she can. Which is pretty fast, Lily is a good swimmer.

Gideon grins, trying to lean into the kiss before she pulls away. He pouts a little - they're wet and cold and he is denied. Sad times. As he is dunked, he already begins to swim towards the shore, and he surfaces just as Lily yells the race. Luckily for Gideon, he is also a good swimmer, and he easily catches up to Lily, but he then swims next to her, making sure to make it seem like he is struggling a little. This results in them reaching the shore at the same time, and Gideon jogs out of the water, his socks picking up mud as they go. Grimacing, he pulls them off and flings them back into the Lake. "Where to now?"

Lily reaches the shore with Gideon, but takes a more leisurely pace once there, walking up to dry ground instead of jogging. Her muscles are shaking slightly, and she gasps from the cold, wrapping her arms around herself in a vain bid for warmth as she joins Gideon. Then she remembers that she is, in fact, a witch, and pulls out her wand to conjure them a towel each. She hands Gideon's off to him, repressing a smile at the way his white and now see-through shirt is plastered to him, and wraps her own around her shoulders. "Anywhere warm and dry," she requests, moving in the direction of the castle.
