Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor greams at being called Hermione's best friend. He already knows that she thinks of him that way, but it's nice to hear her say it. And he doesn't bother trying to ignore the feeling he gets when she talks about him with a smile, but he does push away the urge to hold her hand under the table or something. He knows by now that it's not normal for him to feel like doing similar things with Hermione that he usually only feels when he's with a boyfriend of his, like holding her hand more than friends should and he doesn't even want to think about how many times he would have liked to lean over and kiss her ever since that one little kiss that's seemed to have change everything.
"Vell, ve are glad that you finally came to visit," Sophia says with a grin. "Ve hoped that ve vould be able to visit you during the Tournament ven ve came to vatch Viktor compete, but it vos very busy during the final task," she says with a sigh because I really don't know what's going on with the Cedric thing. Guess he lived and whatnot. "But I am very glad you finally came to visit. And how did you like Viktor's apartment? He picked it out himself," she says proudly as if Viktor accompished something fantastic by choosing which house to live in.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
*giggles*
Sophia is so cute.
Hermione is finding life easier if she doesn't allow herself to look at Viktor for too long. Because if she stares, she might get a little lost in foolish ideas of hand holding and kissing that best friends are not meant to do with each other. Especially when one of those friends is gay and the other has just gone through a painful ending to a lesbian relationship. "It was very busy," Hermione agrees, and I guess Cedric lived. Probably got his arse kicked or something though, let's go with that. "It's a beautiful apartment," she says with enthusiasm. "I love Bulgaria already. Yesterday Viktor and I walked into Sofia, the view was really something. I think I could spend my whole life here and be perfectly content," she says, not really thinking about the implications of that declaration.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Hehehe. I love Sophia. >.> *likes having the Krum family in my head*
Sophia's eyes light up at that. Oh, now her head is working and Viktor is sort of oblivious, but Mr. Krum is not. Not at all, and he's keeping his eye on his wife. Mhm. "Oh, I am very glad you like it here. Sofia is a very nice town to visit. And there are plenty of places to live in Bulgaria. And then you vould be able to visit us all the time," she says happily, her mind already planning out where Viktor, Hermione, and their children would sleep whenever they came to visit for the holidays. Mr. Krum is just thinking about how Viktor is gay, and how he is going to have a talk with Sophia later.Sophia can't wait to say 'I told you so' when Viktor and Hermione get together.
Viktor blinks...He's pretty sure that Hermione didn't literally mean that she was planning to move here and live in Bulgarian, and he really doesn't want his mother to scare his friend off.

Hermione has finally caught up to her mistake. She flushes brightly, but for some reason she feels a little tingle of happiness. "If you'd have me, I'd love to visit again," she tells Sophia with total sincerity, before she glances at Viktor, flushes, and puts her head down. She concentrates on her meal. Which is still delicious, and still making Mya hungry.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Luna should probably learn how to make Bulgarian food, which shouldn't be too hard with three Bulgarians in my head. Sophia beams and takes another small bite of her dinner. "Vell, you're velcome to visit anytime, Her-my-oh-nee," she says, pronouncing names quite slowly. And everyone continues eating and it's all lovely. Now it's time for dessert! Mrs. Krum removes the lid thingy from the dessert which is probably pretty tasty. I have no idea, but apparently it's big for Bulgarian Holidays. "This is Banica. Most people fill it with different types of cheeses, but I prefer to put an apple filling in mine," she informs Hermione as she cuts up the pastry, because Luna is not a fan of cheese.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Mya just died a little inside, because she wants cheese. Fuck it, I'm ordering a pizza.
Hermione stifles a laugh at the fact that Viktor's mother manages her name more accurately (albeit more slowly) than Viktor does. She still insists that she loves the way Viktor pronounces her name, though. "It looks as good as everything else was," Hermione says, taking her piece with a gracious nod. She waits until everyone has a piece, and then lifts a spoonful to her lips. She tastes it, chewing thoughtfully and swallowing. "It's very good," she says, thinking that her parents would appreciate the apple, as well.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
...Well, for their Christmas meal Sophia will make one with cheese. *nods*
Sophia beams again at the compliment. "Thank you. It is von of my favorite things to make, although I usually only make this on certain holidays. I am very glad you like Bulgarian food," she says, smiling because Hermione will fit in just fine in Bulgaria. Viktor is glad that he doesn't know what his mother is thinking because 1. He's quite confused and 2. He would never force Hermione to live in Bulgaria if they got married. Le duh. "Viktor knows how to make most of these foods though. I'm surprised he hasn't cooked for you yet," she says, which translates into 'I'm surprised he hasn't made you food while on a date yet' in her mind.
"Ve've...been busy at school," Viktor says quickly, feeling guilty for not having had made time to make his best friend Bulgarian food. "I've been meaning to make Herm-own-ninny Bulgarian food soon," he tells his mother before turning to smile at Hermione again.

Win. <3
Hermione smiles at Viktor. "He's promised he will one day. He made me some pancakes a couple of weeks ago, they were amazing. Viktor is quite the chef," she praises, eager to defend her best friend to his mother. "I'm not half so comfortable in a kitchen," she admits, then has a moment of irrational panic, because what if she's expected to be a better chef than he is, and take more of the cooking upon herself?

Viktor beams at the compliment, glad that Hermione has liked the few things he's made for her so far, even though they've all been breakfast things. He does know how to make lunch, dinner, and dessert as well, you know.
Sophia just smiles and nods as she slips a love potion into Viktor and Hermione's potions to speed up the process. "Vell, I'm sure Viktor can teach you plenty. And if not, then at least you know he'll alvays be around to cook for you," she chuckles lightly. "He's been helping his father and I in the kitchen since he vos little."

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Hermione's eyes light up, because she's sensing a good, humiliating, 'when Viktor was a little boy' story to round out dessert. Plus, it's a nice distraction from the awkwardness of the thought that she might possibly maybe want Viktor to be cooking for her for the rest of her life. What a stupid thought, Hermione chides herself, because she'll one day have to move on and think about a family of her own, and Viktor will one day settle down with a nice man and possibly have a family of his own, too. She can't be expecting him to take care of her forever.
"I didn't know that," Hermione says, turning between Viktor's parents and Viktor himself expectantly. "Was he always at home in the kitchen, or did it take a lot of practice?"

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Viktor's going to keep his mouth shut right now, because he knows what's coming. Of all the nice stories his parents could tell, he knows which one they'll choose and he's not amused. Not amused at all. He's just going to sit here and think about how nice it'd be to make Hermione breakfast in bed every day even though he knows it's wrong to think stuff like that.
"Ooooh, no, no, no, no, no. Not alvays," Sophia says with a wicked grin as she glances once at Viktor, then back to Hermione for story time. "Von time he came into the kitchen by himself on Mother's Day because he vanted to make me breakfast," she says, looking as if she doesn't know whether to laugh or feel touched.
Viktor moves his food around on his plate with his fork.
"He must have been only eight or nine. I don't remember anymore," Sophia continues, paying no attention to her son at the moment.
Viktor recalls being seven at the time, but he's not going to tell his mother that.
"I don't think his plans vere to have me vake up to a kitchen covered vith all sorts of things. First of all, he forgot to hold down the top of the blender so the food vent everyvare ven he turned it on. And then he vos covered from head to toe in flour, of course. I think I have a picture, actually! I vill have to show you later."
Viktor looks up in shock, and makes a mental note to destroy said picture.
"Anyvay, there vos food everyvare," she says, laughing at the memory, while even Mr. Krum can't help but chuckle because he was there too, of course. Viktor, however, is not making any comments. He's just keeping quiet and pretending that his food is just the most fascinating thing he's ever seen. Votever, he's awesome with making breakfast now so it's all good.

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Hermione's eyes could not get any rounder as she listens raptly to Sophia's story. When she's done, she bites down on her impending giggles and turns to Viktor. "You tried to make your mum Mother's Day breakfast? That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard," she coos, and deep down she's surprised to find how unsurprised she is- Viktor is one of the most thoughtful people she knows, of course he'd want to do something so nice for his mother. She is human, though, and she's not likely to let a golden opportunity like this pass her by, so she turns back to Viktor's mother with a broad smile. "I would really like to see that photo, if you ever find it. It's a good thing your kitchen skills have grown since then," she adds to Viktor, a giggle finally creeping out.

Viktor smiles softly Hermione's compliment, trying not to think about the other parts of that story. Well, nothing to do about it now that it's out there. "Thanks. I guess I vos just born a sweetie," he replied with a playful grin, truly hoping that he can get to that picture before his mother can. Fat chance of that happening. Sophia knows exactly where it is.
"I'll look for it tonight. I know I have it somevare," she says, giggling to herself before taking another bite of her dessert. "I have plenty of stories I could tell you about Viktor, but I think that is my favorite von."

"I can see why that one is your favourite,"Hermione says with a giggle as well, then returns Viktor's playful grin with one of her own. "I guess so," she says, and finishes her dessert, putting her spoon back in the empty dish. "Everything was lovely, Mr Krum and Sophia. Thank you," she says, because even though they don't know she's even here, somehow she feels like her parents will just know if she's been rude, and that they'll be more upset about that than her deception in even coming to Bulgaria.

"Thank you, Her-my-oh-knee. I am glad that you enjoyed it," Sophia said with a smile as she stood up to start collecting all the plates. "You can feel free to go up to your room vith Viktor. You two helped plenty before, and I do not mind taking care of these dishes vith Mr. Krum. I am sure that you vould like to get situated in your room for a vhile, no?" Really, Sophia just wants Viktor and Hermione to have alone time. <.<

Hermione hesitates. "If you're sure..." she says, and stands. The prospect of being alone with Viktor once more makes her insides flutter but she doesn't see any way around it as she heads upstairs to her room with Viktor. "You don't have to babysit me, it's alright. I'll understand if you'd rather spend a little while on your own- I haven't given you a moment's peace since we left Hogwarts," she says softly, her stomach clenching. She's not sure if it's because she can't wait to get away from all these confusing feelings, or if she can't stand the idea of Viktor not wanting to spend time with her.

Viktor frowns slightly, wondering if Hermione was hinting that she wanted to be alone or if she was just being polite. And he really hoped that it had nothing to do with the weird feelings he was having around Hermione because he was sure that he had done a fairly good job at hiding those. "Herm-own-ninny, I invited you here so ve could spend more time together. I could never get tired of having you around. But if you vant some time alone, then that's fine too. I don't mind," he said, smiling softly as he leaned against the doorframe.

Hermione flushes and shakes her head, not quite knowing what to say. "I just didn't want you to feel like you were obligated to spend every waking minute with me if you wanted to be alone for a while," she says. "Shall we read?" It's not until she's spoken that Hermione realises her mistake. There is no couch in the guest bedroom, and no armchairs. They'll have to sit together on the bed. She grabs one of the books Viktor bought for her in Sofia, wondering if it's quite thick enough for her to use to physically knock some sense into herself.

"Alright. I could help you if you vanted to read through the Bulgarian version," he suggests. "Um..." He swallows as he realizes their situation, wishing that he had a Twix bar because he needs a moment. Luna hopes that Mya has seen those Twix ads because if not then this post loses it's comedic effect. "Shall ve sit...on the bed?" He feels silly, but he's sort of considering suggesting the floor to sit on because he has a weird feeling about sitting on the bed all of a sudden, which is odd. He felt fine the nights they slept together so why is sitting next to each other any different?

Re: Sofia, Bulgaria
Mya used to love Twix's when she was younger. JS.
"That might be nice," Hermione says, wishing she had picked herself a nice English book to read without any troubles at all. She sits awkwardly on the edge of the bed, knowing that it would be far more comfortable if she'd just scoot up and rest against the headboard, but not wanting to take the chance. "Why don't we see how far I can get myself, and then you can help me translate anything I don't understand," she suggests.

Luna wants a Twix bar now <.<
Viktor nods and walks over towards the bed, sitting down on the edge next to Hermione. He can't help but wonder if she really has noticed how different he's been feeling, because he's sure that if they would have read together yesterday, she would have found a more comfortable position on the bed. He ignores it for now and continues sitting next to Hermione, wondering if he should watch her read or read a book of his own until she needs help. He sighs quietly and picks up his book from the library, knowing that this would have been a lot less awkward yesterday.

Hermione reads in silence for a while, stumbling over unfamiliar words as best she can until she has no option but to quietly interrupt Viktor from his own reading to ask his help. She can't stand the strange pressure in the room for long, and in less than an hour the tension is cracking her. She closes her book with a snap and sets it aside. "Erm, I think I'll go and take a bath now," she says, standing up and fidgeting on the spot. "Where will I find towels?"

Viktor looks up as Hermione closes her book, surprised by the sudden action. "Oh. There should be plenty in your bathroom," he says, gesturing towards the door in Hermione's room that leads to her own bathroom. "I think I'll go do the same...And then I'll probably just go to sleep," he says as he stands up with his book. "I'm kind of tired now that I think of it." He smiles softly at Hermione before walking over to the doorway, ther usual goodnight kiss being ignored for obvious reasons. He pauses and turns around, feeling hesitant on what he's about to say, but saying it anyway because he loves Hermione and he wants her to know he's still her best friend even if things are...odd right now. "My door's open...Just in case..." He trails off, knowing that Hermione understands what he's implying. He smiles softly and turns to walk down the hallway to his own bedroom where he will go to sleep...Along with Luna who is also going to sleep. <3

Hermione nods mutely, holding back both a frown of disappointment and a sigh of relief when Viktor makes no move to kiss her goodnight. "Goodnight," she says quietly, then retreats to the safety of her bathroom where she showers quickly and dresses in her ducky pajamas. She crawls into bed and tries to shut her mind off from the million and one confusing, conflicting thoughts rushing through it. In the dark, the unfamiliar space closes in on her, and it seems like hours before Hermione falls into a fitful sleep.
Nightmares plague her sleep, and Hermione wakes with a gasp, sweat dotting her brow and hazy visions of Luna's hurt and accusing face clouding her mind. On autopilot, Hermione pushes back the covers and plods down the hallway towards Viktor's room, where the door has been left ajar for her. Her hand is on the wooden surface and she's pushing it open before she realises what she's doing and she stops, sniffling, standing awkwardly in the doorway as all the weirdness between herself and Viktor comes tumbling back into her awareness. She hesitates, and finally, still sniffling and crying quietly, she turns and shuffles back to the guest bedroom to curl up alone and hope for at least a little unbroken sleep before the morning comes, and Mya will leave it to Luna to decide whether or not Viktor woke up for any of that. <3
