The King's Speech
AMAZING
SO GOOD
Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush all deserve Oscars.
That was one of the most incredibly moving movies I have seen in years. Everyone has to go see it.
Bloody brilliant.

Re: The King's Speech
HOW FABULOUS WAS IT?
HOW CAN YOU NOT WANT TO WRITE A RESEARCH PAPER ABOUT KING GEORGE VI?
DID I TELL YOU MY GREAT-GRANDMA MET KING EDWARD VIII ONCE? WHEN SHE WAS ONE THE QUEEN ELIZABETH 2? AND SHE DIDN'T LIKE HIM AT ALL.
WHICH MEANS I HAVE SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION BETWEEN ME AND THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND.

Re: The King's Speech
I came back from seeing the movie, locked myself in my room, and wrote a short story about what it means to be royal.
Then I cried for about twenty minutes.
How inspirational is his story? He was abused and neglected, but he grew up to be an incredibly brave man.
He could have left London during the Blitz, but he and The Queen Mother stayed. That is such incredible courage.
But, in the movie, how much did you want to hug him when he shows up at Edward's party is Scotland in the kilt? I also screamed in happiness! it was so adorable. You can see how important the country and the monarchy are to him, and there is this stupid oaf who is king, making an ass of himself over a divorcee. And you just want to punch Edward in the face.
The Queen Mother is also such a BAMF throughout the entire movie. "I think you'll find the proper form of adress is Your Majesty, and then after that you may call me ma'am."
Collin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter were so fabulous. Are they getting Oscar nominations? If they don't, the world sucks.
And I could teach British History! I could devote my life to that!
Yay for wanting to be a teacher!

TWIN YOU MUST
YOU MUST YOU MUST YOU MUST
also I am unashamed to say that I cried. Unashamed. Movies about Royals (true movies) like this and The Queen always bring out my inner patriot and make me cry.

Young Victoria.
I cried through that too.
Royals dammit.
I will bawl my way through the royal wedding at 6am because that's live time then I'll go to someone else's house to watch it properly later.

I cried like a baby through this movie.
It was brilliant.

THE LAST DAY THERE TOO.
SO I WILL MOST LIKELY BE IN THE PLANE WHEN IT IS ON TV.

OMG I thought it was brilliant!!! XD
Best thing ever though - my high school BF is such a fail. He and I went to see it together, and we get out of the movie and he turns to me and is like 'so, how come that version was so different to the version with Cate Blanchett?' And then I had to explain about the difference between Victoria and Elizabeth I, which was very difficult to do while I was crying and peeing my pants with laughter. JS.

*shuns him*
WAIT HOW LONG AGO DID YOU GET THAT MOVIE? We only got it about a year and half ago.....
Re: The King's Speech
I'll make my grandma record it.
Or, since I'll have an iPhoe by then, find some way to watch it live on the internet.
"This is the Great Wall of Ch--- why are you crying?"
"THEY SAID I DOOOOOOOOO! HER DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL! THIS IS SO ROMANTIC!"
And, The Young Victoria is available instantly on Netflix. I have a Euro test tomorrow. Should I be good?

Re: The King's Speech
Uhm.... yeah, a year and a half would be about right for us too, I think. I still hang with my HS BF on occasion - he's one of, like, 2 people from school I still even talk to.
Worst part was, we were running to the car at the time and it was PELTING down rain and I could barely even walk once he said that. I got drenched.

This movie was amazing!
Even though there were a lot of inaccuracies when it comes to what really happened but I loved it anyway!
*uses it for my movie review on disabilities*

Re: The King's Speech
I re-watched this the other day.... I fucking love this movie. So much.
And I have to say this was the first time where when I saw Timothy Spall I could see him as something other than Pettigrew.... miracles still do happen...
