When Trey and Tracey made it in here they quickly managed to get the stuff Trey would need for potions class. Some of the stuff sitting in jars though made Trey a little frightened. There were scary and gross looking things in those jars! So at his request they made a very quick go through and then got out of there as quickly as possible.

Heading into the apothecary on his own, Scorpius glanced down at the list in his hand. He really didn't enjoy buying things from the apothecary because they tended to be gross and smelly. He much preferred nice, clean books. Moving over to a jar full of beetle eyes, he wrinkled his nose slightly. "Disgusting," he mumbled to himself as grabbed a nearby brown bag and scooped some inside. He really didn't enjoy potions, but he figured it was a good class to continue taking through NEWT level.

After his chat with Rose, Al made his way over to the apothecary to get his supplies for potions. It wasn't his favorite class, but he did have to admit that it was one of his better classes, not just because he was in Slytherin but because he actually knew what he was doing when it came to brewing potions. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a familiar blonde standing over by one of the shelves, and huffed to himself as he rolled his eyes in annoyance. Every time he didn't need Malfoy to show up, there he was. "Malloy," he greeted in a not-so-joyful tone as he walked past Malfoy to get some of his own ingredients a few feet away, not making eye contact with the Gryffindor as he focused on his own shopping.

Scorpius froze when he heard a voice, instantly recognizing it without having to turn around and look. Just his luck that the two of them would happen to go to the same store on the same day at the same time. Taking his eyes off of the jar of beetle eyes, he glanced to the side and took a look at Al Potter, the guy that made him feel like dirt and completely unworthy all the time. He tried not to look for too long, but he couldn't help but to notice how Al seemed to have changed quite a bit over the summer, undoubtedly for the better. "Well hello to you too," he muttered quietly, tearing his eyes away from the dark haired Slytherin and instead moving on to gather dragonfly wings.

Al quirked an eyebrow as he turned to look at Scorpius a bit more properly. He leaned against the shelves and folded his arms tightly across his chest, not taking his eyes off of Scorpius. He had a sort of confidence that the blonde lacked, and he loved using it against him. He had never liked Scorpius, and he didn't plan on changing that anytime soon, or ever. "Well, is that the type of greeting you give someone you haven't seen all summer? Merlin, Scorpius, it's like you haven't missed me at all."

Out of the corner of his eye, Scorpius watched what Al was doing and couldn't help but groan quietly when he realized Al was watching him. He should have known that Al wouldn't just let him be. It was as if teasing and mocking him was the Slytherin's favorite activity. "Maybe that's because I really haven't missed you," Scorpius replied, tearing his eyes away from the jar of wings and looking at Al. "Though you can't really blame me. Why would I honestly miss a jerk like yourself," he said, deciding to tear his eyes away again because there was something about the green color of Al's that always got to him.

When Scorpius turned away, Al rolled his eyes as he stood up straight and walked around to the other side of Scorpius, this time a bit closer as he leaned against the shelf, his eyes looking into Scorpius' face as he tried to make eye contact. "Oh, you're no fun." He tilted his head as he watched Scorpius a bit, his lips twitching into a smirk at the effect he always seemed to have on the Malfoy. Most would think being short would have its disadvantages, but somehow Al had his own confident way of carrying himself so that he was really taller than everyone else mentally. "Have a good summer, blondie?"

Scorpius was slightly jolted when Al moved around him, ending up much closer than he was before. The Gryffindor found this to be even more frustrating and unamusing, for it was becoming increasingly difficult to not look at Al. Closing his eyes for the briefest of seconds after Al asked him the question, he took a deep breath before opening his eyes and looking right at Al. "Yeah, it was quite lovely. Though that was probably because I didn't have to deal with your snide comments," he said, his eyes communicating his irritation with the situation. "Oh, I suppose this is the part where I ask if your summer was lovely, yeah?" he asked, trying to hold his own ground but knowing it was no use.

Al's eyes widened in mock surprise as he brought a hand to his chest. "Why, my summer was wonderful! Thank you for asking!" He tilted his head to the side as he looked up at Scorpius. He had hated him ever since he got sorted into Gryffindor while Al ended up in Slytherin, and the fact that Scorpius made it so easy to taunt him only encouraged Al to keep going throughout the past five years. "So, where's mum? She trust you enough to do your own back to school shopping without getting lost, does she? Gold stars for you!"

When Al's eyes widened, Scorpius tried not to look at how nice a shade of green they were, instead trying to focus on Al's sarcasm and teasing tone. He couldn't help but to squeeze his hand into a fist when Al made comments about his mum, for if there was one thing that really bothered him, it was when Pansy was insulted. She had become the best possible mother and he was lucky to have her in his life. "She's at the bank," he managed to say with a tone that wasn't too angry or annoyed. "Leave her out of this though. If you want to insult me, fine. Throw your worst at me. Just don't insult my mum."

Al scoffed and shook his head. "If you think that was an insult then you're in for a long year. Do you really remember nothing about me? Honestly, I can do much better than that." He hadn't insulted Pansy, but the fact that a simple comment made Scorpius assume that Al was implying the worst made Al even more smug than usual. He sighed, as if suddenly bored, as he pulled away from the shelf taking a few steps before he paused and turned back to take another look at Scorpius, casually letting his eyes roam up and down Scorpius' body. He hated him, but the guy had changed a lot over the summer. "You finally grew out of your awkwardness. Maybe you'll surprise everyone and actually get yourself a girlfriend this year." He smirked as he cocked his head to the side. "If you ever get your nose out of a book, that is." Which he doubted.

Scorpius let out a small sigh, realizing that Al's verbal tormenting really was going to get worse this year. Somehow it managed to steadily get worse every year and he knew that the Slytherin wasn't going to hold back on insults at all. He watched as Al moved, hoping that the two of them were done talking and that he could finish up in the apothecary and leave quickly. He was slightly startled when Al suddenly stopped moving though and he could feel the green eyes assessing him for a moment, something that made him even more uncomfortable than the insults and names. He fought a slight flush at the comment of perhaps managing to get a girlfriend, for he knew deep down that that would never happen for reasons he was slowly coming to terms with. "Yeah, maybe I will," he said offhandedly, not wanting to raise suspicion. "Thanks ever so much for that great advice," he said, rolling his eyes slightly.

"You know me, always trying to boost that self-esteem of yours." It was unlikely Scorpius would get a girlfriend with how antisocial he was, but that wouldn't stop Al from teasing him anyway. So much for being bold. Al could have been bold, had been bold...but apparently that wasn't enough to keep him out of Slytherin. "As much fun as it's been catching up with you, I really do need to get going. Lots to buy and all that," he sighed as he walked past Scorpius, 'accidentally' bumping into his shoulder. "See you at school, Malloy." Without a last glance at the blonde, Al walked over to the counter and paid for the few things he needed to buy without giving Scorpius a second thought or glance before walking out of the store.

Scorpius refrained from letting out a snort, for Al definitely was into boosting self-esteem. Oh yeah, completely and totally. He was slightly surprised that Al was leaving on what seemed like a rather positive note, but didn't question it any more. He flinched slightly when Al bumped into him, one of his hands instantly moving to touch his shoulder. "Malfoy," he corrected through slightly gritted teeth, but he knew it was no use and that Al would do whatever he wanted. He waited until Al was done paying and gone, then moved to the counter to pay for his things before leaving the store to meet his mum.
