Twilfit & Tattings
[An upscale clothing shop. Narcissa decided to take her business there after meeting a 'mudblood' in Madam Malkin's.]
Pansy, having finished up with deposits and withdrawals and things of the like at Gringotts, made her way toward the clothing store, standing outside the window of the shop and letting her eyes wander the street. She was amused to find some familiar faces among the crowds, watching her old classmates ushering their own children through the shops, carrying packages and bags and shouting for some of the younger ones to stick close and behave and not touch everything in sight. She was sure she spotted one of the Weasleys, unmistakable because of their red hair and certain hand-me-down style that didn't seem to have changed in the next generation. She found that the old animosity she used to hold for them had faded. Now they just looked like another happy little family shopping together. She wished Draco had been able to come today, but of course work at the Ministry had called him away, and he couldn't get out of it. So it was just herself and Scorpius, which was nice all the same. She fiddled with her wedding band as she looked around, waiting for Scorpius to make his way over.

Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Scorpius walked down Diagon Alley with his small bag fall of things from the apothecary, his mind on the run-in that he had just had with Al. He thought of what Al had said, about getting a girlfriend, and it made him wonder what he would do if girls started to notice him. He wasn't sure how he would react to their attention. Nearly walking right past Twilfit and Tattings, he shook his head slightly to himself to clear away his thoughts and stopped when he saw his mum outside of the store, waiting like she said she would be. "I managed to get the stuff just fine," he said, holding up the bag. "Didn't get lost or anything. Gold stars for me," he said, thinking of what Al had said to him in the shop. "You got what you needed at Gringotts?"

Re: Twilfit & Tattings
A warm smile spread across Pansy's face as Scorpius walked up, holding his bag to show her. "My boy's a genius," she teased lightly. "Sure did, though the goblins are still creepy as ever." She winked at him, as it had become a sort of family inside joke about how they found the goblins a little scary in an odd sort of way every time they visited Gringotts. "Now let's get you some new clothes, we've got a pocket full of galleons to spend on you." An excited grin crossed her expression as she turned to walk inside, leaving Scorpius to follow behind. She glanced over the clothes, flipping through a few racks of very nice new sweaters, exceptionally soft and warm, but not bulky or ugly like those ones the Weasleys made, or like were sold at Madam Malkin's. These looked nice, presentable, and certainly fitting to be worn by a Malfoy. "So how was the apothecary? Busy?" She made small talk as she picked up a nice silvery grey one, holding it for Scorpius to see. She tilted her head, silently asking if he liked it or not. She thought the color would go well with his eyes, which were just like his father's.

[WOO. I got time before I leave for class to post]
Scorpius was quite glad that his mum had gone to Gringotts without him, for he really didn't like seeing the goblins. Something about their size and their noses and their attitude always really bothered him. In fact, when he was 8, he had quite an awful nightmare involving goblins and a giant boiling pot of water. Ever since then, the goblins rather bothered him. "Hmm, they should just hire witches and wizards to work at Gringotts," he said, following his mum into the store and walking with her towards the winter clothing. "It was pretty empty actually," he answered her question as he began riffling through the sweaters. "Only ran into one other person," he said, wondering why his luck was so awful that it had to have been Al Potter. He picked up a dark red sweater off the rack and held it up to show his mum, rather liking color. "Oh, I like that one as well," he said, seeing the grey one that his mum was holding to show him. "Looks quite warm as well. I might need some new trousers too. I think I've grown a bit since last winter."

"Perhaps," Pansy laughed, at his suggestion of simply hiring witches and wizards at the bank instead. "But the goblins keep it safer, you know that." She of course meant that their magic was something witches and wizards could not quite do, but she laughed softly to go on and add something else at a whisper. "They scare us too much for us to steal anything from them!" Pansy nodded, listening quietly as he talked about his simple errand. "Oh, that red is nice. We'll get both of these. Any others you like?" At his mention of trousers as well, she glanced him up and down, trying to measure in her mind how much he'd grown. She smiled, draping the grey sweater over her arm and moving toward the pants. "I do think you've grown quite a bit. We'll probably need to replace nearly all your pants, I imagine." She started going through them, picking up a few and looking at them before picking a likely size. "Try these on, won't you?" She followed him toward the curtained changing rooms in the corner, standing just outside as he went in. "And the red sweater too, just to be sure, please." Once he disappeared behind the curtain, her mother curiosity couldn't be stopped. "You said you only ran into one other person, but you didn't sound to happy about it."
Re: Twilfit & Tattings
“They may only be a couple feet tall but they really are scary,” he agreed, not liking the goblins one bit. “No, these two are good. I’ll probably be wearing my uniform sweater most of the time,” he pointed out. He really just wanted the two sweaters for the weekends, like when he might go to Hogsmeade or something. Not that he really went to Hogsmeade that much during the school year, for he didn’t like all the hustle and bustle of everyone shopping with their friends. He thought of what Al had said to him in the apothecary, that he had grown out of his awkwardness and took that to mean that he really had grown quite a bit and out of his terribly thin and gangly phase that most boys go through. “Alright,” he said, taking the clothes and heading to the changing room. After closing the curtain, he toed off his trainers and began trying on the pants before freezing slightly from his mum’s question. “Oh…well… he’s kind of an arse,” he said, not even thinking twice about the word he just used. “I mean jerk,” he quickly amended, not wanting to offend his mother by using vulgar language or anything. After slipping on one of the pairs of trousers and the sweater, he moved the curtain to show his mum the clothing. “I’m used to his comments and attitude towards me though…ever since first year really,” he shrugged, not letting it bother him too much.

Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Pansy laughed slightly to herself when Scorpius corrected himself. He'd been raised not to swear, but she figured he was old enough by now that he probably did it when he was away from her anyway. "If he's an arse, dear, call him what he is." She walked up to him as he came out, reaching out to tug at the hem of his sweater, and to lift it and check how the pants were fitting. "Being used to it doesn't mean you have to put up with it though. Don't be silly like I was, Scorpius." Pansy smiled at him fondly, putting her hand on his cheek. She'd put up with how Draco had treated her at school, using the excuse that she was simply used to it, that it was just how she was and it didn't really matter. "It's not until you stand up for yourself that things will change. And you can. And you should." She gave him a serious look, though it was lightened by the knowing smirk forming at the corners of her mouth. She had made sure to teach Scorpius how to duel properly and effectively, for she had certainly kicked her fair share of arse during her time at Hogwarts. She wondered briefly if the plaque was still on the Hogwarts pitch, proclaiming the entire section of seats she had destroyed during one duel. Stopping her mind from wandering, she nudged him back toward the changing room. "We'll get the sweaters and those pants, and you can pick out a few more pairs that size, they fit nicely." She waited for the curtain to close again. "It's Potter, isn't it? He probably thinks he's entitled because of his name, just like his bloody father."
Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Scorpius couldn’t help but to smile to himself, glad that she didn’t seem to mind his swearing. When he had been growing up, he had been taught not to curse and to carry himself in an appropriate matter. With coming to school though, it was difficult to not adopt the same sort of language that most of his classmates and the boys in his dorm used. “I don’t mind that much when he bothers me,” he admitted, finding that he much preferred being acknowledged by a classmate than completely ignored. Sure, being teased and picked on wasn’t the sort of attention he wanted, but it was better than nothing at the end of the day. “You’re right though. I shouldn’t let him constantly walk over me,” he agreed, though he couldn’t help but to have reservations with how to handle the situation. He knew that if he tried to stand his ground, Albus would probably just mock him even more. “Thank you. The pants are quite comfortable,” he said, moving back to the changing room and taking off the clothes. As he put on his own clothes and shoes, he listened to what his mum said and realized she probably had no trouble in figuring it out. “Yeah, it is. I don’t know if it’s so much his last name or the fact that he is in Slytherin. As if that is what really makes him so much better than me,” Scorpius said, coming out of the changing room with the clothes.

Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Pansy took the sweater and pants from him, draping them over her arm as well. "If he's the sort of person you've described, he'll never be better than you. Your father and I raised you to be all that we weren't. You're a great person, Scorpius, and I'm very proud of you." Making her way back toward the rack of trousers so he could pick some more, she laughed a little. "The fact that you had us for parents and yet ended up in Gryffindor is a testament to just how improved you are from who we were. We were the worst sort of bullies, I dare say we'd put little Albus Potter to shame easily. Anyway," she said, brushing it all aside. "Chin up, dear. You'll have a great year at school so long as you don't put up with any of his shit." She winked at him, taking the pants he'd picked out and moving toward the counter with them. "Need anything else? Scarf? Shoes? Gloves?"
Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Scorpius couldn’t help but to smile from what she said and, based on stories he had heard about his parents and their school days, he couldn’t deny that he was proud of himself for being his own person. He let out a small chuckle after she swore, it rather amusing him that she had used the word. “Yeah, I hope you’re right,” he said, already knowing that the school year was going to be one in which he mostly kept to his studies, reading, and drawing; activities that were done in solitude. “Thanks mum,” he said softly, placing a quick kiss on her cheek. “I’m good with everything else. I tried my school shoes on last night and they seemed to fit just fine. They were a bit loose last year so they’re perfect now,” he said, though knowing he probably would end up needing new ones next year.

Re: Twilfit & Tattings
Pansy swelled with love and much affection for him as he kissed her cheek. She really did love her son very much and was indescribably proud of the man that he was showing himself to have grown up to be. "Good, good." She sat the clothes on the counter, and had them boxed and wrapped to be sent back to the Manor for them like the books. She passed over the galleons and sickles and made sure they knew where to send the boxes, and then turned to Scorpius with an almost mischievous look on her face. She put her hand into the crook of his arm and lead him out of the shop and back into the street before explaining. "Now, I know we got you your own owl last year to send back and forth between school and home, but what do you say to another new friend to take with you this year?" She steered toward the Magical Menagerie, knowing that Scorpius (and herself) had always wanted a puppy, but had been repeatedly denied one by his father for many years. First, Pansy had agreed with Draco, saying that Scorpius was too young to properly care for one. Then he had started at Hogwarts and wasn't home enough to care for it, and would be too busy at school to care for it. But Pansy felt that he was old enough now that he could most certainly handle it if he still wanted one, and she was definitely not going to deny him the joy of a puppy any longer if that boyhood dream still lived.
Re: Twilfit & Tattings
"Thank you...for getting the clothes," he said, knowing that it was always right to show appreciation after being given things. After going to Hogwarts, Scorpius had quickly realized that not everyone was able to buy and have certain luxuries, so he always made it a point to express his gratitude when given things. He allowed himself to be led out of the shop, looking at his mum with a curious expression because he could instantly tell by the look on her face that she had something in mind. It was often an expression that she would adopt whenever they were about to do something that his father might not be too crazy about. "Wait, really?" he asked, eyes lighting up because of what she was suggesting. An owl was great for communicating, but owls weren't great pets to have to play with or snuggle with or have as friends. "What kind?" he asked excitedly. "Just...please not a toad. I really don't want something slimy."
