So, here's the link to the essay I'd posted on the last forum, in case anybody wanted to read it.
For those of you who don't know, it's a work in progress about the morality of Severus Snape.

The other essay I'm working on right now is an analysis of Harry Potter as both a Cinderella story and a mockery of the traditional folktale.
My awesome professor is helping me out a lot, and emailed me these links to articles.

Just read your essay. Wow. It was great. It really explained the amazing complexity of Snape's character and pointed out a few things I'd never noticed. I can't wait to read the one you're working on.

Essay update:

So, I've been too busy to work on the paper I've already posted, so improving that one will wait until after this semester is over.

But. The other essay is in the works.
I'm still in the outlining/note-taking stage, which is a long fucking time for me, but it's going well.
I was originally only going to have two parts to the essay, one on Harry as the traditional tale, and Snape as the anti-Cinderella, but I've decided to add in the tale of Merope Gaunt as a reflection of an interesting essay I read on the Grimm brother's version of Cinderella, in a third section, the story of a failed and morally inferior Cinderella. This adds a lot more work, but I think it'll be worth it, and I really want to impress my professor. Just letting you all know where things are going with it.
