Re: The Showers

Remus walks into the showers pulling Hermione along with him. He takes her over to the bath and makes sure the water is hot but not too hot before turning back to her. "Here. This'll help you relax. I can go if you want, but I'd probably just wait outside because I don't want to leave you alone too much until I know you're entirely sober again. I don't want you to drown or get hurt. Or, I can stay with you for a bit and massage your back that helps me relax sometimes. Either way I want you to just soak and relax. You deserve it. We don't even have to talk you can just sort your thoughts out." He was trying to help her and hoped he was doing at least a semi decent job at it. He'd screwed up more than anyone it seemed and now he wanted to make up for it by helping her. It was the least he could do, he felt like he should be doing a whole lot more but at the moment he didn't know what else he could do.

*She bites her lip. She trusts Remus, and she's afraid to be left alone. She shoots him a grateful look.*

Stay. Please...

*It makes her love him just a little more, the way he turns away so she can undress and slip into the hot, bubble-filled bath in privacy. She lays her head on the side of the tub and closes her eyes against the pounding of her temples while she waits for him to join her*

Remus is relieved that she wants him to stay. He didn't really want to leave her alone while she was like this, in general he didn't want to leave her alone at all because he loved every moment they spent together. He'd turned away waiting till she got into the bath and was settled before undressing himself and getting into the bath. The water really was perfect and he relaxed a bit before moving over behind her and started massaging her back. He didn't say anything, he wanted to give her the chance to just think about things, if she wanted to talk about anything she would. He wasn't going to push her into talking about anything.

*At first she just feels tense and wretched and depressed, and annoyed with herself for being so weak and needy. But the water, and Remus' hands, soon break through the tension and slowly she melts back into it. She lets herself relax, bit at a time, and her head gradually begins to clear. She's got a lot to think through, a lot of work to do, but for now she wants to push it aside, wants to wait until she's fully there and sober to think about her next move, about how she's going to put herself back together. She lets her mind wander over the events of the day, and thinks over everything Remus had said. Suddenly, she sits up a little straighter in the water, turning a little to look at him.*

You were worrying about what would happen if you had children, weren't you? Before, when you didn't want to talk....?

He sighs and lets his hands rest on her shoulders rubbing small circles with his thumbs.

"Yeah, about...you know, if I happened to...pass my condition on to them or something." He looks away slightly, embarrassed.

*She turns to properly face him, splashing a little clumsily in her still-slightly-intoxicated state. Bubbles fly and some land on her nose, she swipes impatiently at them. She sees the fear and the embarrassment in him and puts a hand on his face to turn it back to her, leaving a fluff of bubbles on his cheek*

Surely not, honey... I don't see how that could happen... Aren't there any other werewolves who've had families? Could we look it up and find out?

He smiles weakly at her. "Er..I guess we could try and look it up. I don't know anything about other werewolves having families so...yeah I guess we can look it up." He felt stupid for worrying about it so much but how could he not? It felt good to talk to Hermione about it though and he cursed himself for not telling her about it in the first place.

*She looks down, feeling bad for him. He'd carried this for so long, and always seemed to cope so well that sometimes she forgets that every single aspect of his entire life is touched by the fact that he's a werewolf. She speaks quietly, stumbling over her words and trying to get her thoughts to come out the right way.*

I wouldn't care if they were. Wouldn't blame you, or love them or you any less for it. I mean *she flushes* I don't want them to be werewolves, I see what you deal with and wouldn't wish it on anyone, let alone someone I loved.... But it wouldn't make them any less perfect to me. It doesn't make you any less perfect to me.

*When she's done she keeps her head down, hoping she hasn't overstepped the mark or hurt or offended him in any way. Or been presumptuous in assuming that it would be she who bore his children.*

He listens to her speak and when she's done he leans his head against hers his eyes closed. The love he felt for her at the moment was overwhelming, he hadn't thought he could love her anymore than he already did but, the thought that she would want to have children with him, to stay with him for the rest of their lives, made his love for her grow even more.
"That means more to me than you know Hermione. I feel like I can handle anything as long as I'm with you, that everything's going to be okay. There's no one else I would want to have children with besides you, because I know you'll make the best mother and because I love you so much."

*She smiles a little, feeling better, feeling more like herself again. Her nose twitches when he leans his head against hers - bubbles smearing between their faces. She wraps her arms around him, resting her hands on his back. She feels the same - together they can survive anything. Ignoring the tickling of the bubbles, she gives him a quick kiss*

I love you too.

*Pulling away, she spins back around so she can lay back against him and draw comfort simply from his presence. The ends of her hair trail in the water and she leans her head back against his shoulder, her back propped against his chest.*

[Tam your post count is ridiculous haha. also i'm about to fall asleep haha so we should figure out what to do with them soon. unless you just want to pause or something in here.]

He stands there for a bit relaxing and letting her lean against him. It was so peaceful being together like this.
After a bit the bubbles on the side of his face bug him so he wipes them off. He was feeling a bit tired but he didn't want to go to sleep he wanted to stay awake with her.

*Hermione is so thoroughly relaxed she realises she's beginning to fall asleep, which she thinks might not be the best idea. She sighs and mumbles, without even turning around*

Are you finished? If I don't get out of this tub and get back to the common room now, I don't know if I'll have the energy...

*With superhuman effort, she forces her eyes open and looks around, happy to spot a stack of big fluffy towels near the edge of the bath*

He smiles and moves over to the edge of the tub grabbing two of the towels. He turns to hand her one. "Yeah, probably a good idea. Don't want to fall asleep in here."

*With a small smile of thanks she accepts the towel, hoisting herself out of the water and wrapping it firmly around herself. She gathers up her clothes and ducks into a stall to dry off and get redressed before waiting for Remus by the door, still absently towelling off her hair.*
