Re: The Showers

Nikki skipped into the showers, still whistling a sad song. The mud the clung to her made her want to get clean more than anything. Quickly, she turned the hot water on. A wave of her wand caused her fancy dress to turn into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. She stepped into the shower, washing off the mud. It took longer to get it out of her hair, and longer to disentangle the twigs that had lodged there. But soon, she was clean, and she stepped out and changed into her new clothes.

She sat down on the bench that the held the towels. "I should know what I am going to say when I go cry on someone's shoulder." Another wave of her wand summon a roll of parchment and a quill from her dorm. She began to write. Verily, during the eve of the Hogwarts Spring Gala, the most grievous occurrence did occur. Having accepted the kind Mr. Fred Weasley's offer of escortment, I happened to the ball. During the course of the grand affair, it so happened he excused himself to get the pair of us a drink. This proved to be a clever rouse, and a diversion so he could spend time with his second date. The scarlet woman was in pink, and had brown hair. The wench! My heart has been broken forever more.

Nikki read over her words, and began to memorize them. Once she was sure she had it memorized, she strode over to the mirror to practice speaking it. It took quite a few tries to get the proper heartbroken look, especially as she had a tendency to burst into giggles at the wording. She hoped she would be able to deliver it smoothly when the time came. With a quick practice melancholy look in the mirror, she skipped out of the showers, humming a new sad song.

Remus led Hermione into the showers and got the bath ready for her. He laid some towels next to the bath then helped Hermione over. "I'll wait till you get settled then join you."

*She sheds the robes and the awful hospital gown quickly and slides into the hot water, letting out a little moan of appreciation as the warmth encases her body. She lays her head back against the side, not caring that the ends of her hair get wet because she'll need to wash it anyway.*

He undresses then joins her in the hot water hoping she hasn't seen his other injuries because as much as he'd like to talk to her about the past full moon he also doesn't want to talk about it. He knows she'll disapprove of what he was thinking after that night. Moving close to her he smiles and twists a bit of her hair around in his fingers. "I've missed you."

*She sits up properly again and wraps her arms around his waist, moving in for a hug, but as her fingers brush over his side, she feels a disturbance in his skin - broken skin closed over but not quite fully healed. Her eyes snap up to lock on his.*

Was that from the full moon I missed? What happened Remus, I'm really worried....

He bit his lip. Yes that was indeed becoming a habit of his. "Well...I was really angry right before hand...and may have, well did really, let Moony take over entirely which almost resulted in me killing Sirius and James...They fought back the best they could, Sirius bit me in the leg I have a scar from that, and I don't remember who hurt my side, but I hurt them both really badly...and I sort of escaped outdoors...It was a bad night."

Oh honey...

*She hugs him as best as she can managed in a bathtub, careful of his injured side. There's more to it, more to the bruises, she's sure of it, but she can feel the shame practically rolling off him and she doesn't want to push, doesn't want him to feel bad if she can help it. Very carefully, she trails feather-light kisses up the bruise on his face.*

I wish I had been there for you.

"I wish you'd been too. But I'm glad you were asleep cause I don't think it'd have been a pleasant evening for you." He sighed and took her hand kissing her fingers. He didn't want to think about it anymore honestly. "I'm guessing you want to hear about how my face ended up like this too..."

*She nods, pecking him on the lips and then wriggling around so she's facing away from him, her back leaning into his chest and her head tucked under his chin while she grabs the soap and lazily begins to wash.*

Yeah honey, I wouldn't mind hearing about that. Jeez, you boys can't keep out of trouble for five minutes, can you?

He laughed. "Apparently not. Well earlier in the week I was in the library and this new Slytherin guy, name's Dolohov, comes in and starts bothering me. I tried to leave and he hit me. Can you believe that? Then last night I went outside to that spot near the lake we hang out at and he was there. He tried to act all nice then forced me to join him even though I was telling him I was going to leave. I don't get it, he seems to think that I want to fight. Anyways, he told me that he bet I couldn't break his jaw and I got away but he hit me. I tried to stun him and he knocked me down. So...I gave up and just hit him. He was quite surprised when I did break his jaw."

*She sighs.*

I will never, ever understand how the male mind works. Sounds completely ridiculous and kind of barbaric to me, honey. I know you don't like to fight, I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

*Moving forward a little, she leans back to wet her hair and then reaches for the shampoo. She lathers it into her hair, but quickly becomes annoyed with the task, and with herself because her arms are a little shaky still.*

[no Lils, Mya is under strict orders of rest, so once she's all clean, it's right to the common room! Smile

He frowns when he sees her arms shaking and gently pushes them down. "Let me help love." He gently massages her head. "I really hope I don't run into him again. Hmm..you've missed so much, but you'll get caught up soon I bet. There's a lot of new people it seems. They're pretty nice. Let's see...there's Teddy, I haven't talked to him much but he seems nice, and then Viktor. He was dating Lily for a bit but I think they've broken up. Hmm...who else...gosh I feel sort of out of the loop too. Oh, I've met Sirius's brother. They got into a fight the other day but I broke it up. Speaking of fights..." He wondered what he should say about his fight with James. It was over now but it had still been a bother.

*The rest of what he's said filters through and she frowns.*

And what do you mean, "speaking of fights"?

*She pulls away long enough to rinse her hair out and turns so she can look at him again, reaching up to wipe a couple of stray bubbles from his chin.*

He smiles. "Yeah, well, James pretty much gave up on Lily. Which is shocking really. Lily was really upset about it. Snape beat James up pretty badly afterward, then Sirius got mad at James when he found out that James and Fleur were together for a bit. They've been fighting since...and James got mad at me because Snape got hurt and I helped him. I felt so bad because I didn't want to hurt James's feelings but you know me, I can't just let someone alone if they're hurt. So James and I were fighting for a bit but then...I told Snape I hated him...and James and I talked everything over now we're not fighting anymore. Things have been crazy Hermione. Absolutely crazy. I felt like I was going to go insane at some points. But...I'm changing some things I think. And the Marauder's better get things on track because I'm sick of us fighting all the time."

He hugged her back gently and kissed her. "I know. I love you too, and I'm glad you're awake now. Shall we head to the common room once you're finished? I'm sure a lot of people want to say hi."

*she nods, turning to grab a towel.*

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a nice comfy couch. And chocolate - Merlin, I want some chocolate!

*she pulls herself out of the tub and wraps the towel securely around her, ducking into a shower stall to dry and dress herself, wrapping Remus' robes tight around herself to conceal as much of the stupid hospital gown as she can. she waits for him by the door.*

He laughs. "Well I definitely have a lot of chocolate." He grabs a towel and dries off then dresses before heading over to join her. "Let's head back." He smiles and kisses her again. He doesn't want to let go of her now that she's awake again.
