"Honestly it really isn't that bad, you just look so much better blonde. And you know I have a thing for blondes. It's more that I just really don't like redheads, I think. But really, you still look fantastic, I bet you'll still have people swooning all over you," he said confidently, twirling Lucius' ginger hair around his fingers. "Really, it's not bad."

Lucius sighs and begins to feel somewhat better about the situation. "Thanks, Reg," he said with a small smile. "It's a good thing I have a friend like you. Most people probably would have laughed and left me all alone to die a redhead," he said jokingly. "I'm not leaving this dorm though. Not until it's blonde again," he says with a nod as he wonders how he'll eat, shower, and go to the bathroom.

"You need to eat, shower, and use the bathroom, you realize?" he pointed out, trying to suppress his laughter. "It won't be that bad. I think if you just strut like nothing's wrong, they'll think you did it on purpose and probably end up fawning over the new hair, until it's gone. You're just too gorgeous for them to think badly of, really."

Lucius blinks and considers this idea. It's sort of a valid point, but..."What about the Weasleys!? What if they see me like this?" He takes a deep breath to prevent another panic attack. "Fine. I'll leave the dorm...Er- later. Not now. Some other time. Maybe when there's less people around. Then I can go out there." He sighs and takes out his small, silver mirror, looking at himself with a small frown. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I'm so perfectly beautiful. Only I could pull off the ginger look, I suppose."

"It's true. And really, you've got a lot going for you. If the Weasley's saw you, they'd just be jealous of how amazingly you pull off ginger, when they're so tacky and yucky looking with it, and you just look gorgeous," he said with an encouraging smile.

[Lucius Malfoy]

Lucius nods and smiles a bit more before hugging Regulus. "You're right. I guess it's not that bad. And it shouldn't last too long. I hope. I'll just have to make it work, I suppose," he said with a sigh as he ran his fingers through his own red hair.

Regulus smiles and hugs him back briefly, because he still feels awkward hugging anyone that isn't Viktor. And suddenly he's thinking about how wonderful it always felt to hug Viktor, the way it felt to be safe and secure in those muscular arms, and a frown creeps onto his face for a moment before he remembers to smile again for Lucius- he's bothered him enough with his sadness. "You'll be fine. So, what else is new? Have you spoken with Narcissa?" he asked, absentmindedly fingering the ring from Viktor.

[Lucius Malfoy]

"Oh. Yes. Last night, actually. Right before I went down to Hogsmeade," he said with a slight smirk because at least his last memory of having blonde hair was a good one. Oh, Alejandro. "I er- apologized to her about us. And I think we're okay now. I promised to buy her some new sunglasses because apparently she's no good at finding a pair to suit her face," he says with a small smile before he notices a ring on Regulus' finger. "Oh. Well that's rather nice," he says as he takes Regulus' hand in his own to examine it. "This isn't the Black family ring. Where did you get this one?" he asked curiously because Lucius likes nice, expensive things.

Regulus smiled a little at his talk with Narcissa, but his face falls when he looks at the ring. "It is nice. It was... it was a gift. From Viktor," he said quietly, and looking rather dismal. "It's a promise ring. Guess promises are get broken."

[Lucius Malfoy]

"OH," he says while resisting the urge to facepalm for bringing it up. "Sorry. Didn't know..." He sighs and turns Regulus' face lightly to look him in the eyes. "Regulus, you need to take it off now," he says softly. "I know you don't want to, but Viktor isn't coming back. You don't need to get rid of it until you're ready, but for now I really think it needs to come off."

Regulus looked horrified at the thought, pulling his hand away defensively. "No! I mean- no. I don't, I don't think... I don't want to. Not yet. I just... I can't," he admitted, looking shameful and distraught. "I tried before. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I used to look at it, as a reminder that he was there for me always, that I didn't need to turn to the d- to other things, to feel alright. I felt safer."

[Lucius Malfoy]

"But...He left you, Regulus. He made you fall in love with him and promised that he'd always be there for you. And then he just walked away from everything you two ever had. Do you really want a reminder of that around your finger?" he asked as he wrapped an arm around Regulus' shoulder. "I guess you don't have to. But as your friend, it's my job to let you know that it'd probably be easier to get over him if you took it off."

"I wish you weren't right," he whispered, his hand over the ring, poised to take it off, but he didn't do it, not just yet. "He didn't just walk away. It was a long time coming. He'd fallen out of love, and he can't help that. I swear I never meant to let it die, but he just... he didn't wanna hear it anymore, the shit I was doing, the mistakes I made. It's not fair to say that he didn't try, he just doesn't care about me anymore."

"He doesn't care about you? Hm. That's pretty harsh coming from someone who gave you a promise ring," he said honestly as his eyes watched Regulus' hands over the ring. "I know I've said it before, but you're better off without him, Regulus. And you're better off without the little reminders of what he did to you."

"I did worse to him than he ever did to me. I lied to him for months, when he was nothing but good to me during that time. But enough, he's gone, he's not coming back, not now, and not ever," he said, and finally took off the ring, letting it rest in the palm of his hand as he looked up at Lucius. "I still love him."

Lucius sighs and brushes the hair out of Regulus' face, lightly letting it run down his cheek and resting it there in a comforting way. Because they are friends. Who will not fuck again. Just friends. Mhm. "I'm sorry, Regulus. I'd like to say I know how you feel, but I've never been in love before or anywhere close to being in love, so I honestly don't know what it's like at all. But you'll get over him eventually. You won't be in love with Viktor forever," he said with a small smile, his hand remaining on Regulus' sad, pale face. "I'm proud of you for taking off the ring. Most people wouldn't have been able to do it," he told him, knowing that it would help Regulus' confidence.

"I won't get rid of it. Not any time soon. Maybe not ever," he said with a small, sad smile. "I remember when he gave it to me. I think it was right before the first time we really made love. He was so wonderful," he said quietly, relishing the memory.

Lucius sighs and removes his hand from Regulus' face, wondering how Regulus can sit here and talk about someone he complained about all the time while they were together. "Touching. I still don't think so. I don't like him. Haven't liked him since I met him. Most relationships start out perfect and wonderful. It's the endings that are awful and sad. Remember that. Viktor obviously isn't that same guy anymore if he hurt you like he did," he said, remembering all the things Regulus said he hated about Viktor.

Regulus sighed and clasped his fingers around the ring tightly. "I guess you're right. He's not the man I fell in love with, and I'm not the boy he fell in love with either. I've got to move on, but... I don't really know how," he said with a rather apprehensive voice, frowning as he curled up on himself on the bed.

Lucius frowned and lightly rubbed Regulus' back, wondering why he felt so sorry for someone. Feelings are weird when you're not used to having them. "I'm sorry, Reg. I don't really know what to tell you. If it was me, I'd hook up with a ton of people and enjoy being single, but I know that probably won't help you much because you're not like that," he said quietly while wondering if he could hook Regulus up with an appointment with Alejandro.

"I already told you, I'd probably still be a fucking slut, but there's no one I'd really hook up with around here, honestly," he said exasperatedly, though he was comforted by Lucius' hand on his back. "Unless you happen to know any guys who like dudes up for a one night stand, there's not a lot I can do, and no offense to you or anything but prostitutes don't really appeal to me, though I am sorry you missed out on that to stay with me."

[Lucius Malfoy]

"Oh. Don't worry about that. I'm just so pretty that he was perfectly fine with meeting me another day," he said happily. "I'd show you a picture but he's probably not your type. Not blonde," he said with a wink. "I normally stay away from them, but this guy is one of the best." He brought a finger to his lips as he thought about who to set Regulus up with for a one night stand because he knows Regulus will not be pleased with Lucius Malfoy as an answer. "Hm. One night stand, eh? Yeah. I really can't think of anyone who could compete with Viktor or me, so I'm not sure what to tell you," he said with a sad smile, still rubbing Regulus' back. Hey. Maybe Lucius will be a good father for Draco one day-- Oh, who am I kidding? No he won't.

Ha, Lucius, a good father. There's a laugh. "I suppose it doesn't matter, I should probably stop being such a whore anyway, if I'm to get some sort of decent reputation back. Just... I really have no idea how long I can seriously go without sex, after being so used to getting laid so often. It's just so not cool," he said with a frown.

Lucius really does feel bad now because he knows exactly how Regulus feels. "Oh, tell me about it. Do you know how long I had gone without sex before you? This year has just not been good for me. And before I met you I had gone a long time with no sex and ended up fucking F-- Some girl," he grumbled, trying not to think about it. "Talk about a mistake."

"Yes, it was a mistake," he said sternly, looking at Lucius with a hardened expression. "But I don't really blame you. This is just not gonna be awesome. I'd say we'd help each other, but I somehow don't see Narcissa appreciating that. Speak of," he said, looking at him rather crossly, "I don't care what you do with any other girl in existence, but if you've got your eyes on her, you be good to her. She's the sweetest thing in the world, and entirely too innocent for her own good. She deserves to be treated right, and I won't forgive you if you hurt her. But as long as you're good to her, I don't have a problem, okay? I just think I needed to clear that up," he said. "It's not a bad match, really. I know our families would approve, anyway."
