*She chokes back an amazed laugh, because she's copped plenty of consequences, plenty of judgement over the last couple of days and yet she's spent years watching him worm his way out of every tight spot he's ever been in all thanks to his surname. A part of her wants to scream after him, drill it into his thick head that he's got no clue about anything when it comes to her, but she realises there's no point. He's going to think whatever makes him comfortable and there's nothing she can do to change that. She's almost even relieved at the return to normalcy - she can deal with his hatred, it's all old hat to her now. She stands still, regaining her breath, momentarily forgetting the people around her and what they've all just seen and heard.*
