Raksha strolled slowly down to the picnic area, basket in hand. IT was filled with all sorts of goodies, sandwhiches of all kinds and bottles of sweet tea chilled to perfection.

*Hermione is taking Kiora for a walk, trying to clear her head and make sense of everything that's happened over the past week day. She spots Raksha and smiles slightly, stopping to say hello.*

Hello! How are you? I've not seen you in a while...

[no worries sweets, I had to run to work for a 2 1/2 hour meeting that made me want to shank puppies.... yes, puppies. We can pick this up again whenever xx]

*Hermione's smile becomes a funn on grin as Raksha bounds over and she squeezes his hand briefly. Kiora stares up at the newcomer in slight wonder, and Hermione's pretty sure she senses the wolfy within him.*

Thank you! This is Kiora. I guess it's been a while... time gets away from me these days!

[Pen I'd love to but I doubt I could keep up right now *is "working"*]

*Hermione nods enthusiastically.*

I love picnics! You'll love them too! We'll have to have another and drag Remus along somtime as well, and maybe some other friends. I'm sure you'll like them!

*She goes and sits on the blanket, popping Kiora down next to her. She spends a few moments making sure the baby is comfortable.*

How's that, baby girl? Nice and comfy? This is great, Raksha... What have we got in here? (OMG ALMOST FAIL I TYPED 'JOEL' LIKE 3 TIMES!!!)

He tapped his chin. "Let's see i have iced, sweet tea. And bologna and mayo, and cheese and mayo, and peanut butter, and apples and bananas, and strawberries mixed with cream, and raspberry tarts, and umm. I don't know what else. I just asked for laods of sandwhiches for a picnic." he shrugged cutely.

Oooh sweet tea and raspberry tarts!

*Delighted, Hermione dives right in - she keeps forgetting to eat these days. But don't tell Viktor, he'll never let her live it down. She takes a bologna and mayo sandwich and has a bite.*

These are good! So, how was your first transformation away from home? How'd it go...?

He shivered. "It was okay i guess. Painful as always and it was hard...lonely too. I'm not used to having it happen while i'm alone, i guess. Allt he fmaily and such." he waved his hand. "But it was same as usual in the technicalities." he grinned at her, his gentle face a lie! A LIE I TELL YOU A LIE. But he never told people how he felt inside.

*Hermione gets the feeling there's more going on than what she can see on the surface, but Lenore feels like shit and still has about 7 hours at work to survive, so she doesn't really push it. She smiles tentatively.*

Well, as long as you're ok...

*She takes a sip of tea, finishes her sandwich and looks down at Kiora, only to find the baby's head turned towards Raksha, a little smile on her face as one small hand reaches out in his general direction.*

Oh, look - she's smiling at you.

Raksha, unlike Joel, was somewhat good around children. He swooped down and started to tickle her, like his da used to when he was a baby. "Can she howl? I think she should learn how to howl. Like this!" he howled happily.

*Hermione laughs as Kiora watches Raksha with wide eyes and gurgles happily, her little fist flailing about. She must like the sound/*

I think she's not quite up to howling. It's more screaming when she's hungry/sleepy/messy/uncomfortable/hot/cold/lonely/startled. Oh, and she sort of laughed earlier, which is just the most amazing sound ever.

*Kiora makes her little giggly sound as Raksha tickles her and Hermione looks up as if to say 'There! See? Isn't it the most precious thing EVER!?' She picks the baby up for a hug as Raksha sits back to drink some tea.*

Remus is good. Busy, of course, trying to juggle classes and the baby and study along with everything else. And we recently had some bad news involving the death of a very good friend of his, which hit him hard. But, you know - we carry on.

*She smiles slightly and kisses Kiora's forehead.*

We've got too much to live for, and this one here seems to make it impossible for us to stop smiling. Wow - that was a bit of a long-winded answer, wasn't it? To summarise: Remus is fine. I think he misses you, though - he was so excited to find someone to finally relate to!

Raksha nodded sagely, as only idiots can do. "It was nice finding a nice were and not the crazy ones i'm used to. I think you might be a lot of the reason he's not all crazy, you and his friends. It kinda eats at you after a while if you don't have a cemented anchor. Or that's the way the other Weres i know are."

*Hermione makes a face over Kiora's head.*

Honestly? Sometimes I think I complicate things more than solve them. But I try to be there, try to understand as best I can. But hey - you're not crazy, you seem to have done just fine on your own, despite your crazy family... Maybe some Weres are just like that?

Well, you're not barbaric in the least, so there must be some people who can resist!

*Hermione smiles as Raksha awkwardly puts Kiora in his lap, and her hand flails about as if she's reaching for him.*

She is pretty tiny, isn't she? Though having to carry her around all day, I'm not complaining about that!

*Hermione smiles, watching Kiora's eyes light up in delight, avidly following the little wolves as they dance about above her. She makes a mental note to learn that spell as she helps herself to more of the picnic.*

I've really got to remember that spell - it's always a hit with her...
