"It's fine," Milli says. She swims over to the side and hoists herself out, then sits, dripping. "So...what's up?" Milli asked tentatively.

Colin paused for a moment, wondering if she wanted to be dried off. "Oh, I've been all right," he said carelessly. The truth was, he was terrible, but he had tried to adopt a new attitude: that he didn't care about anything anymore. Problem with this, though, was that he actually did care. A whole awful lot. "D'you want to sit there all dripping wet?" he asked, attempting a smile.

"Yup," she says. "It's not a problem." Milli is disapointed by his I-don't-care attitude. It makes talking so much harder. "So, about the other night..." she trails off.

Colin chuckled. "All right, as you wish," he said, smiling. He wanted to reach out and hug her, but would she agree? "Yeah," he said, a little bit at a loss for words. Realizing that it was probably his fault- it always seems to be the guy's fault- he was going to apologize. "I'm sorry," he whispered, almost reaching for her hand, but drawing his hand back.

Milli grabs his hand. "You don't have to apologize. I was just sorta..." she searches for the right word. "Shocked."

Colin smiled tentatively. "That's all right," he said, secretly glad that she had taken his hand. He just wasn't sure anymore. "I- I- I hope you know I meant it, though," he added awkwardly.

"Well then!" Colin exclaimed, back to his usual peppy self. "That's settled!" But he stopped himself from losing his cool-guy image. Whoops. That was close. "So... we're cool?" he asked, putting an arm around her shoulder.

"Good," Colin sighed in relief. "So besides that, what's happened lately that I missed?" he asked, thankful that nothing really drastic had come of three simple words.

"The 'nothing' goes both ways, apparently," Colin replied. "I haven't even seen Dennis. Come to think of it, I haven't seen my dormmates in a while... Ah well. They're probably lurking somewhere."

"Lurking," she giggles. "It's a fun word." Milli sits there, not bothering to speak anymore. She is content just sitting there with Colin.

"Yeah," Colin said, smiling, "but it does sound a bit stalkerish." He shrugged. "Oh well. I suppose there are stalkers everywhere. There might even be a stalker now!" Of course he was joking, and he didn't really mean what he said, but he tightened his grip on Milli's shoulder - just a little bit - in case he was actually right.

"There's nothing to worry about," Milli says. "This is a school. There are bound to be people about. It doesn't mean they're stalkers."

"Of course," Colin said, laughing a little at his vulnerability. "It's just a little suspicious when there isn't anyone around, like now... Don't you think? I mean, Hogwarts is a pretty big school," he continued. "You'd think that people would be around all the time. But, then again," he added, "there wouldn't be any 'us' time if there were always people around." He squeezed her hand.

"That's why private places exist. But you're right. It is pretty empty." Milli frowns. "There should be scores of people about."

"True that," he said. "Mind you, I don't mind that there aren't any people. Sometimes, it's just nice to be alone, or with a friend-" he smirked a little when he said 'friend' "-because then there aren't scores of people about that can annoy you to death."

"Friend," Milli scoffs. "But it is nice to be alone." She tilts her face up and presses her lips to his.

"Well then, more than friend," Colin said, wondering if she would tolerate it if he said "love" again. But when she kissed him, he wondered if she wouldn't mind; no, she might, leave it alone. He leaned in, placing his hand on her cheek.

The sun felt warm on Colin's face as he reluctantly pulled away. He rested his forehead against hers and whispered, "Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not amazing, got that?"

"I dunno, I just... The way you were talking the other day," Colin said, a little awkwardly, "when you called yourself..." He couldn't bring himself to say it. "I thought that someone else might've called you that, and that you'd adopted it." He shrugged. "Stupid, probably. I always am."
