Luna's face lights up at the corny line because she likes making people feel happy and special. "Not much. Just been talking to some Ravenclaw friends and studying mostly. Everyone keeps telling me it's a tough year since we have O.W.L.s."

"Oh. O.W.L.s aren't that bad. They get hyped up more than they need to be. I know how you feel though, I am very nervous for the N.E.W.T.s. I could help you study if you'd like to sometime!" He propped himself up on his elbows, smiling at her.

"Oh right! We were supposed to start studying together," she said happily. "We could start that soon if you'd like. The teachers are already piling up lots of homework, so it's been keeping me really busy."

"We can start whenever you want! I know what you mean about the homework too. It's like the teachers deliberately plan on ruining whatever social life you have." He chuckled. "Did you get a bunch on your first day back too?"

Luna nods. "Mhm. Tons. But Hermione is really smart, so I can always go to her if I have a question," she says with a smile. "And now that I have a study buddy I'm sure it'll be a lot more fun," she adds as she grins at Dean.

He fist pumps, while laying down..yeah, he's that good. "STUDY BUDDIES!!" he laughed. "Oh, you have Hermione helping you too? Luccckkkyyy! She's like, the smartest person in the school!"

Luna is impressed with the fist pumping. Not gonna lie. "Yeah, she is smart," she says with a sigh as she lies down next to Dean. "Really smart. Anyway, studying with you will be lots of fun. And helpful since you already took O.W.L.s," she says, changing the subject so she doesn't have to think about Hermione.

"Yeah! Only, I did horrible on my History of Magic, so I won't be much help there. I just could not pay attention in Binns' class. I think I feel asleep almost every single day. They seriously need to spice that class up some more." Dean laid back down, resting his hands behind his head again.

Luna nods in agreement. "That class is rather boring. All he does is talk and talk and talk. But Hermione really likes that class, so she'll be able to help me there hopefully," she says, not realizing she mentioned Hermione for the hundredth time.

Dean doesn't realize Luna's excessive talking about Hermione. "Huh, I didn't realize there was someone who actually enjoyed that class. Weird. The Defense Against the Dark Arts was one of the ones I did best on. I did okay in Charms too."

Luna is glad. She would probably feel awkward...If Luna knows what awkward is. "I think I'll do fine on Charms and Magical Creatures. The others I'm a little worried about, but I'm sure I'll do fine if I study hard enough for them."

He looked over and smiled. "You'll do great! I promise! If I'm wrong, you're free to...to..punch me?" He laughed. "Or whatever you'd like, I guess. Make me wear a dress, or something." He laughed again.

Luna giggled. "I could never punch you, Dean! Even if I wanted to, I might bruise my hand or something. You'd like nice in a dress though," she says with a nod.

He chuckled again, "What do you think? Is pink my color? Or maybe a Caribbean Blue?" He laughed again. "Okay, getting a mental image now. New subject please!"

Luna sits up and looks Dean up and down in a totally non-sexual way before deciding. "Pink...Okay, now we can change the subject," she says with a grin as she lies back down. "How many stars do you think are up there?" she asks curiously now that it's gotten darker.

He looked up at the sky and replied, "42." He looked over at Luna with a completely serious look on his face.

Luna blinked and looked over at Dean. "42...thousand?" She glanced up at the sky, then back to Dean. "I'm pretty sure there are more than 42 stars up there. More than 42 thousand, actually. Maybe 42 billion..."

He shook his head. "Nope. Just 42. The rest are fireflies." He nodded.

"Fireflies? How'd they get up there?" she asked, somewhat shocked by Dean's answer. She always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away.

"Well, they flew of course." he laughed. "I have this cousin, who thinks the stars are our ancestors watching over us. Isn't that silly?" He shook his head and laughed some more.

Luna smiled but didn't laugh because that actually sounded sort of logical in her mind. She stayed silent for a moment, looking up at the stars and wondering if maybe her mum was up there. But for once, Luna didn't say what was on her mind. She didn't want to ruin the moment with her thoughts so instead she just smiled and murmured quietly, "Yeah, silly."

He looked over at her, sensing something might have been bothering her. "Hey, Lu you okay? I didn't mean to upset you at all." He continued to stare at her, in a non creepy way.

"Hm?" Luna turned to look over at Dean. "Oh. No, you didn't upset me, Dean," she said with a small smile. "I was just...thinking, I guess."

Luna smiles at Dean. "I was just thinking about my mum," she says softly. "You said that thing...about our ancestors, and it made me wonder if maybe my mum was up there."
