"Yeah, the dog is pretty special. I'll let you find out for yourself just what he's a like, but if you're eating, watch your plate or that thing will just help himself. He stole my shepherd's pie! And you have a duck?" Pansy wasn't sure what to make of it at first, as it definitely wasn't anything she'd ever heard of before, for someone to have a pet duck. But... it was sort of cool. "A pet duck... that's, that's really neat. Does he take messages like the owls do, or is he more of a swimming buddy?" She hoped it didn't seem like she was making fun of him, because she definitely wasn't. "I mean, is he trained like the owls are?"

"He vot? Vell, that's just not right." He chuckled lightly, but he seriously does think this dog of Scorpius' needs to learn some manners. You don't just eat people's pies without asking. He smiles at her question, not thinking for a second that she's making fun of him or his duck. "Mhm. But he is actually a she," he corrects politely before continuing. "She does deliver messages just like an owl, though I'm sure it's probably a shock for people ven a duck shows up at their vindow vith a letter from me.

"Oh, she, excuse me. Well that would be rather exciting to get a letter from a duck rather than an owl. Though it's probably terrifying for people who have Anatidaephobia. They might not enjoy getting letters from you quite so much." Pansy laughed, wondering if there was anyone she didn't like who might deserve to get a few letters from Viktor's lovely duck. "I've got an owl, a big black one. And just before this school year started I got a ferret from my father. He's a little white one, his name's Toby. And then Severus and I have a pet rabbit we take turns taking care of. I guess I just like animals. I've always wanted a dog as well, but maybe not one quite like Scorp's." She laughed, because Pansy would definitely get a different sort of scary dog, it would be an awesome big guard dog that could follow her around and scare people. Yep.

"Oh, I've never even thought of that." Viktor laughed, amused with the thought of him sending a letter to someone with Anatidaephobia. Poor person wouldn't know what hit them until thisshowed up at their door. "Bunnies are nice. And a ferret? Really? That's actually really cool," he said with a grin. "I've never met somevon vith a pet ferret before. Then again, I'm sure you've never heard of somevon vith a pet duck before." This friendship was obviously meant to be. Look at them with their unique pets. "Dogs are amazing. I'm sure I'll get von some day, but it has to be a big dog. I've never liked those tiny lap dogs. I'd vant something that is taller than my knee by the time it's fully grown."

"Yep, ferrets are pretty cool. They get into a lot of trouble so you have to watch them closely, but they're a lot of fun too. We do have rather interesting pets, don't we!" They're totally meant to be friends. Obviously. "I agree about the dog. Why bother getting a dog if it's just a little lap dog? Might as well just get a cat and teach it how to lick your hands stupidly and make noise at anything that moves. Big dogs are the way to go. It's got to be big enough to knock someone over when it says hello, definitely above the knees once fully grown. Bigger the better, really." Pansy nodded, thinking of Belgian Shepherds and Saarloos Wolfhounds and German Shepherds and Bernese Mountain Dogs.

"Ve do! I guess ve're just special and are too awesome to have the average pets that everyvon else has." He smiled, thinking about how lame little lap dogs are, and how awesome a German Shepherd or a Husky would be. Maybe even a The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever; those are pretty big and they attract ducks towards them so Viktor would like that. "Big dogs are just the best. And I don't think I'd ever be able to stand getting a cat. They're just annoying little animals that don't do anything. Dogs are loyal and fun. Cats are lazy...and boring. If I get another pet, it'll be a big dog." He nodded firmly, wondering why anyone would get a cat and I'm not sure what happened to Crookshanks, but Viktor is not going to like that thing very much if it's still around.

Oh, Crookshanks. Well that's unfortunate. Perhaps there could be arranged a certain accidental incident which has no ties whatsoever to either of us, and it could take care of that little problem and eliminate the particularly foul little feline from the equation of future Krumione, yeah? We'll work on that one, bff. "I agree, cats are boring. They're not very affectionate and you can't even play with them. I mean, I couldn't go running with my cat, or take it out on the grounds to play for a while. It just wouldn't work. Big dogs are so much better. I'll probably get a dog or two once I've got a house of my own." She nodded, deciding right then and there she would have at least three big dogs, and her husband would have absolutely no say in the matter at all. He would like them, or he would deal with it. "I've always wondered why Hogwarts lets people have owls or toads or cats, but not dogs. Seems a little unfair to me. I think I should get one and bring it to school anyway. Once it's here, what could they do about it? I'm sure they wouldn't make me send him back home or lock him up, that'd be cruel."

That would work out quite nicely. Then no one gets blamed, and no one has to deal with the evil cat. Ron can be blamed for everything. Him and his dumb rat. "And then there's the whole hairball situation," he says, faking a disgusted look. Not like he needed to fake it. Cats are just so gross and disgusting. "I don't get vhy you can only bring those pets. That Ron kid has a rat, and no von likes rats, so vhy can't cool people like us bring dogs? Everyvon loves dogs," he says, because those few crazy people who do not love dogs don't count. Everyone should love dogs. Everyone. "Vell, I have my duck and you have your ferret. A dog shouldn't be that much harder to bring to school if they don't notice our other unique pets already, right? Right."

Pansy mirrored his disgusted look, because hairballs, the noises cats make while hacking up hairballs, and anything remotely associated with it, is absolutely disgusting. "Cats are just gross. I think we should get dogs and bring them. We could let them play together and stuff! I'm sure they'd like to have another dog to hang out with, even with all these people around who would be giving them attention. I'd say we could let our dogs play with Scorp's dog, but..." she whipsered to him, "I'm not so sure it's a real dog. I think it's like a koala or something. An evil koala." She nodded very seriously, because Pansy truly believed it was not canine at all. Not in the least tiny bit. Not at all. Not a single drop of canine blood in that little creatures tiny blue furry crawly meanypants body. Nope.

Viktor and Pansy would look so cool walking their dogs around the castle like a boss. He laughed, wondering what Scorpius was thinking when he got that dog because from what Pansy is telling him, it doesn't' seem like it was a very good buy. Now Viktor really wants to meet Stitch to see the evil koala for himself. "An evil koala, huh? I don't know vot he vos thinking, but Scorpius can bring a koala to school then ve can totally bring dogs. I like your plan. Our dogs vill play together and every cat owner in the school is going to be jealous of our awesome pets."

"Sounds good to me. I guess I should start asking mum if I can have a dog for Christmas. Take a little while and try and convince her real good. And then if she doesn't, I'll just go buy one myself! Maybe if I don't get one for Christmas, we could go to Hogsmeade together sometime and pick dogs out together!" Pansy smiled because that sounded like a lot of fun. Though shopping wasn't either of their absolute favorite things, dog shopping together was bound to be lots of fun. She could picture it now, the two new bffs looking at all the dogs together and picking ones that are awesome and big and badass, and did we mention awesome? Yep, because Pansy and Viktor are way awesome enough that they've got to have awesome dogs.

That will be the most amazing shopping trip of all time. Everyone will be jealous of how cool Viktor and Pansy look as they walk down Hogmeade together with their new dogs. Viktor isn't usually a fan of shopping but he's pretty excited about this shopping trip that could very possibly happen. "Ve could! My dad vos alvays allergic to dogs, but now that I've moved out I can get any pet I'd like," he said with a grin, thinking about his apartment and how perfect it would look with a dog in it. "That vos actually my first thought ven I got my own place, to be honest. As great as living on my own sounds, I'm mostly excited about getting a dog."

Pansy smiled at him. "My mum's always had evil cats. I can't wait to get away from that and have a dog. We'll definitely have to go shopping together to get our dogs after we get back to school after Christmas break! It'll be lots of fun. But for now, I've got to run! It was really great meeting you Viktor, hopefully we'll get to hang out again soon!" Pansy picked up her book and waved goodbye to him, heading back up to the castle in a wonderful mood because she has a cool new friend. <3

Viktor smiled as Pansy got up to leave. "Nice meeting you too, Pansy. See you around." He waited a moment, taking in the lake and whatnot before getting up to head back to his common room, very happy about his awesome new friend that he has a lot in common with. <3

*tells Dean to take deep breaths*

Dean came out to the grounds after Neville passed out in the common room. He had been in an oddly good mood lately and was hoping things would start working out for him. Then he saw Luna. His heart literally stopped for a moment or two, and he was having trouble breathing. It was only now that he realized how much he missed her. He bit his lip as he debated on what to do. He figured she probably hated him now, so he turned to leave. Of course he stepped on a huge stick that made the loudest cracking noise ever. Every part of him froze, praying she didn't hear it.

Luna looked up as she heard a twig snapping and quickly turned her neck to look back. She failed at hiding how surprised she was to see Dean, being completely oblivious to the fact that he was sneaking away. "Dean?" She tilted her head to the side and looked at her friend, wondering if he hated her for what she did to him. She wouldn't be surprised, but she really hoped he'd be able to forgive her. She had misses their study sessions together. She had Hermione, of course. But she missed her best friend quite a lot and the idea of losing him forever was too hard to even think about.
