"They," he gulped awkwardly, "s-slept together that night while I was passed out." He wanted so bad to pull up his hood right now as the tears came back. She didn't know that half of it. "She was my only chance," he muttered. "I'm just so tired of everything now." He bowed his head as he tried to hide his face, feeling pathetic and vulnerable.

She bit he lip. She didn't really know what to do when guys cried and she felt so horrible. "Oh Seamus, I'm so sorry. So sorry!" She did the first thing she could think of, and grabbed him into a tight hug. "Is there anything I can do to help?" She rubbed little circles on his back, trying to comfort him.

The moment she brought him into a hug he began to sob. "I'm sorry, I don't really like people seeing me like this. Y-You can go if you want." He gave her a weak smile. "Thank you. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. I've lost one of my best friends and my only chance at-" he stopped abruptly.

She didn't break away from the hug as he began to sob. "I'm not going anywhere. You need a friend right now, and here I am." She kept rubbing his back. "Now, I've seen you and Dean. You two are seriously close. I know you both can work with this." Something caught her attention, "And what did you lose your chance at? At Ange? Because, trust me, there was some serious tension between those two. I don't think they'll start dating. And I've heard he likes someone else too."

He couldn't help but smile. "Thank you," he said, and allowed his heavy head to fall on her shoulder, dampening her sleeve. "No, not at her. Just... other stuff. I know there's tension, and that's good. He deserves it," he said angrily.

Lavender already had an overwhelming curiosity for everything else, so of course she was dying to know what he meant. She pulled back a little to look at him, his tear streaked face tearing at her heart. She smiled. "What other stuff, c'mon. We're friends, right? You can tell me." Another cute smile.

Argggg! "Nothing, just... stupid stuff." Why couldn't he just lie? He knew what she'd say if he told the truth, yet for some reason he just couldn't lie. AND WHY DID SHE KEEP SMILING LIKE THAT?! "You really know how to get something out of me," he grinned at her. "You're gonna keep trying, aren't ya?"

Her smiled widened and she gave a small giggle. "You know it. C'mon, it's not good to keep things bottled up. Out with it." She gave him a look that was like 'don't test my patience' .

He let out a long sigh and, as quickly and quietly as he could, he muttered, "Tryingtoforgetaboutyou."

She tilted her head towards him to catch what he was saying. She froze when she heard the words. "Oh." She just sort of stared at him. "Oh." That was all she could manage to say.

If it was possible, his heart sunk even more. Of course, he knew that he had spelled his doom, so it came as no surprise. "I'm sorry," he said, and pulled away from her in resignation. Somehow, he did feel better for telling her the truth. In fact, that had been nagging him for a while and he was glad to say it, no matter what the outcome.

She shook her head and put on a fake smile. "No. Never say sorry for how you feel. I'm..glad you told me. I'm sorry If I'm making this worse for you. I can go if you'd like.." She didn't necessarily want to leave, but she would if that's what he wanted.

"You're not making things worse, I actually feel better for telling you," he admitted. "Only leave if you want to, but I'm fine with you here." He drew his knees up to his chest and rest his head on them. It was fine, he was used to rejection at this point. "So...," he shifted slightly, curiousty getting the best of him, "how's Louise?"

She smiled for real when he said she could stay, but the smile vanished as soon as he asked about Louis. "Um, good I guess. Listen, you don't have to talk about him if you don't want to. I know it must be kind of uncomfortable..." It would be even more uncomfortable if he knew just how close her and Louis were becoming...

He nodded slowly, "Alright, just wondering was all.." A very small part of him became alive with excitement that he hadn't felt in forever. She had to leave at some point, and that was the perfect time for the spell. Maybe he won't push it back too far, maybe just to the begining of this year, right before he took that seat next to her. "I'll be waiting for you, of course. I just want you to remember that, no matter what."

She blushed instantly. "Well, um." Very few things made her speechless, this was one of them. How could she tell him how serious things were becoming between Louis and her. She looked down, embarrassed by her blush. "Well, thanks Seamus." That's all she could say, she didn't want to get his hopes up but she didn't want to make him feel worse.

Come on. Why wasn't she turning him down? He wanted her to, he wanted more reasons, he wanted the adrenaline he was beginning to get from it all. "So you two are just good?" he urged. "You can tell me, I really don't mind, unless you do."

Normally she wouldn't mind gushing about him, but it was different with Seamus. She was still blushing, but couldn't help the grin spread across her face. Usually thinking of Louis made her grin like a loon. "Yeah. We're good, really good." She thought she knew what was happening. "Don't do this to yourself Seamus..." She gave him a concerned look.

His eyes glinted. "I swear, I really don't mind. You can tell when I do, can't you? Do I look like I usually do when you talk about him," he flashed her a laid back smile. "I can tell you wanna talk about him. Go on, it's fine."

She stared into his eyes for a while, trying to see what was going on with him. Something wasn't right, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. "I'm not going to talk about him. All you need to know is that we're good and he treats me well." She continued to stare. "Seamus. Tell me what's wrong. I can tell you are hiding something." She kept her eyes locked onto his.

"Nothing's wrong," he said, which was completely true. How was he going to stretch the truth without lying? "I mean, I guess it's just a relief to finally tell you how I feel. Well, maybe I should stop so I don't get upset again," he said, pretending to look a bit unsure. That wasn't lying.... it was a relief.

She gave a little half smile. "Well, I know it probably does feel good to get it off your chest, but there's something else too. I can't describe it, but it's there. Seamus." She put her hand on his shoulder. "Everything is going to be okay, you know that right? You and Dean will work things out eventually. Promise me something?" She stared at him.

"Promise me you aren't planning on doing something stupid over this." She held his gaze, not blinking. This was about as serious as Lavender ever got.

He got slowly to his feet, holding her gaze. He knew if he said those two words, he would never break them. He had several choices. One: For the sake of his sanity and heart, he could walk away to a quiet place for the deed. Two: For the sake of his heart, he could somehow break the promise (unlikely). Three: He could not break the promise, but crumble his heart and quite possibly go insane, knowing he can't escape any of this. He would much like to keep both, but he didn't want to walk away. "Who said I was going to do something stupid? I swear, I'm not going to kill myself. I promise." Clever.
