Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Lily has been stuck in Gideon's body for a couple of days now and is slowly adjusting to the complete and utter weirdness of finding herself suddenly male, in essence. The absolute hardest thing for her, she thinks, is remembering to keep her mouth shut in class even when she knows the answers because she's fairly certain Gideon is less the type to participate and more the type to slouch in a seat up the back and amuse himself. On the plus side, the tate of NEWT classes is fascinating to Lily, so she doesn't mind. And all the extra time she has on her hands thanks to not having to deal with her Prefect duties means she has time to read, a rare and precious opportunity that Lily isn't going to pass up. She settles on the rocks by the lake with a thick Arithmancy text, choosing a somewhat secluded spot because it would be odd to the casual observer to see Gideon Prewett's body reading a textbook for pleasure.

Marlene is up to her usual tricks - looking for somewhere to have a smoke without interruption. The lake is usually pretty deserted around this time of day, she knows from experience, so she lights up as she wanders around. She pauses when she sees a guy reading a textbook. Well, Marlene is a Ravenclaw and a woman, and if there's two things she appreciates it's a nice body and a good book, so she strolls closer and takes a closer peek at the book. "That's a good one," she comments, flicking her eyes up to his face with a half smile.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Absorbed in her book as she is, Lily's first clue that she's not alone is the waft of smoke that itches her nose. She looks up to see a girl standing over her, smiling, lit cigarette in hand. Lily's nose wrinkles in distaste, and she is about to confiscate it, soundly tell the girl off and give her a detention, when she realises two things. The first is that Gideon wouldn't do such a thing, and it would be a complete and utter failure on her part in trying to pull off acting like him if she did that (and Lily can't stand failure). The second is that while she's busy playing the role of Gideon, she doesn't actually have the authority to do any of those things. "Uh, yeah. It's pretty comprehensive," she agrees, then wants to facepalm because that just sounds wrong in Gideon's voice.

The good looking guy uses big words. Marlene likes. She invites herself to take a seat, moving her cigarette to the hand furthest away because she didn't miss the look of distaste. Fixing her deep brown eyes directly onto the boy's face, half smile still playing flirtatiously about her lips, she extends a hand in introduction. "Don't think I've seen you around before - sure I would've remembered. Marlene."

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Lily bites her lip. Is this girl... flirting with her? No, surely not. Not that Lily doesn't appreciate Marlene's taste, because clearly she agrees that Gideon is most definitely attractive, but she just can't fathom it right now. No, Lily is being silly. Marlene has just noticed what she thinks is a guy reading a book she finds interesting and she's being polite. That's all. Concentrating hard on getting this part right -at least twice Professor McGonagall has roused on Lily for not responding to Gideon's name in class- Lily extends the hand that will always be just a little bit too big for her to use gracefully and shakes Marlene's quickly. "Erm, hi. Gideon. Good to meet you." Does that sound like Gideon, she wonders.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Dem walks over to the rocks, a notepad and pencil in hand. Seeing as the weather is nice, she decided that it was the perfect opportunity to come out to the lake and draw some clothing designs and possibly find some inspiration in nature. When she got to the right spot, she sat down, positioned her pad and pencil and started to readjust and finish off an earlier design that she was working on.
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Molly is thinking similarly to Dem, only not. Mostly she's just thinking that she'll take advantage of the sunshine and sit and do some knitting in the warmth. She's picking her way across the rocks when she spots Dem. She calls out a "Hey!" waving and smiling, and changes course to join the other girl. She perches on a flat rock and toes off her sandals. "I didn't expect to, like, see anyone else out here! How you going?"

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Dem looks up and smiles when she sees Molly coming over. "Hey Molly, I'm going pretty good, what about yourself?" She asks, then goes back to quickly finish off the little part of her design that she was drawing, not wanting to seem rude because she wasn't, she was just working hard on one of her most recent designs. After she had done that, she turned her attention back to Molly.
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Oh awesome! I'm great," Molly chirps, beaming brightly. She doesn't think Dem is being rude at all, she simply pulls out her knitting -she's working on an experiment that is somewhere in between a vest and a coat- to work on while they keep each other company. "Working on new designs? That's, like, super exciting!" she says, leaning over to try and peek a little bit.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Well, that's good!" Dem happily says and smiles, moving her hands fully so Molly can fully see what she is designing currently. "This is a top that I'm designing," she explains, "I'm thinking that it will be a nice sort of going out top, you know? Not too formal, but not too casual. It's not really finished yet, though."

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Molly nods to show that she is listening to Dem as she looks over her work more closely. "It looks like it's going to be, like, totally gorgeous," she grins. "So d'you think you'll spend your summer designing and stuff? When you don't have to worry about classes and stuff getting in the way," she adds, her fingers flying over the wool and watching her creation grow.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Thank you!" Dem beams at the compliment. "Most likely," She decides, nodding her head, " I need something to do for six weeks." She adds on, thinking of how many things she could design and possibly make in that time. So many designs, so little time. This was definitely going to be a fun summer for Dem. "What about you? You doing a lot of knitting in the holidays?" She curiously asked, figuring that Molly had probably heard enough about her designs and holiday plans for a little while.
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Well that will be heaps of fun for you," Molly greams. She shrugs, tilting her head to the side as she thinks it over, needles still snapping tightly against each other. "Oh I don't know. I'll probably do some knitting for sure. But there's, like, heaps of things I want to do too. Arthur's brother is opening a bar in Diagon Alley and I totally promised I would go with him and meet his family and stuff," she says, grinning and flushing slightly. "And my brother Gideon will probably get his own place, and he once told me I could visit so I am, like, totally holding him to that and all. So yeah, I guess I'll keep busy," she shrugs. "Ooh - summer! Muggle world! Shopping! We should totally do that at some point, right?"

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Wow, sounds like a whole lot of fun right there!" Dem happily says, going back to her drawing for a little while Molly finishes explaining everything, putting the last little touches on her picture. There is still a lot to do, but the picture part of it is finished at least. She still needs to write a little about that piece so she won't forget when the time comes. "Shopping sounds like a fun idea!" Dem says, happy to be making plans with her friends for her otherwise empty holidays.
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Ooh yay!" Molly squeals, squirming a little on the spot in excitement because Fabian will probably be busy, which means she's lost her usual shopping buddy. "We'll have, like, heaps and heaps of fun! Alice sort of isn't really into the whole shopping thing, and Gid definitely isn't, and Fay's been super busy lately so it'll be awesome to have a shopping buddy. Actually, it's going to be cool to have a girl shopping buddy - I never have before, you know," she prattles, not really noticing if Dem is concentrating or not in between her knitting and the sound of her own voice.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Dem, being used to having to go shopping on her own, having no siblings, or friends who were really into fashion, until now. "It sounds like loads of fun because I never really have anyone to go shopping with and parents aren't all too good at helping you choose the right outfit." Dem explains, sure that Molly would understand. "So, it'll be nice to have a friend to shop with! We can make a day of it!" She brightly said.
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Molly wrinkles her nose. "Well, not that our parents really do, like, anything with us, but I totally don't think I want to even consider them coming shopping. It would just be too weird," she decides, shaking her head firmly. "I kind of hate shopping alone, so it would be cool to go with you sometime. Plus, you'll probably have almost as good an eye as Fabian, which would be super!" she chirps, family loyalty and love keeping her from considering the possibility that Dem's eye for fashion is likely just as good as Fabian's.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Thank you!" Dem says, happily accepting the compliment. "Plus, your parents say that everything goes, when it clearly doesn't." She says with a small joking shake of the head. "You could wear a potato sack with accessories and they would say it looks good. Well, not that extreme, but you know what I mean."
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"OhmyGod, I know, right?" Molly laughs. "I could totally just imagine my mum. She'd be all 'that's nice, dear' and she wouldn't even be looking and I could be holding, like, I don't even know - something that's leather and awkward and totally not appropriate for anything ever," she says, shuddering lightly. "On the plus side, then they pay for it all, too," she says brightly, as if all her money doesn't come from her parents to begin with.

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Yes, that is a good point. So maybe having them is sometimes good." She observes with a small smile. Not that she would ever consider going shopping with her parents for the sole purpose of them buying something. Never. "Though, you would have to put up with the, "Oh, what about this? It would look so nice on you!""
Re: The Rocks by the Lake
Who would ever consider taking a parent shopping just so they could buy you things? *blinks* >.>
"It's totally easier when they just give us money. Though our parents have Muggle credit cards that they just let us use whenever and then they just, like, pay it at the end of the month anyway. I don't know," Molly shrugs, "I think most parents would be like that, but mine would just be, like, just get whatever, because they never have much time anyway."

Re: The Rocks by the Lake
"Oh, that seems easier than going to Gringotts to get it converted." Dem says, used to going there most of the time she is in London, it sort of does get a little annoying after a while, it uses up precious shopping time! "But it sucks that they never really have that much time." She nods, wondering what it is like, seeing as she does see quite a bit of her parents.
