Molly looks up when someone passes her, customary bright smile on her face because she's always bright and bubbly. It turns into a frown though when she sees the unknown boy raise a mocking eyebrow at her. She pulls a face at him and continues knitting.

Being that Zach was into his book, he missed the face red pulled and therefore didn't respond. It wasn't like he'd ever had a friendly word with a Gryffindor anyway. The silence was a little awkward, but Zach could bet it was more so for the girl, since he really couldn't give two shits.

Since Zach knows that his face is not defective, and is actually kind of attractive, he looked over at the girl. He then glanced up at the sky briefly and shrugged. "Yeah, I guess so."

Molly rolls her eyes slightly. She's met blocks of cheese that were better conversationalists. Yes, she was high at the time, but that's not the point! She tries again, because why not? Maybe he's just socially retarded or something, and it's her duty as a member of the human race to help him out.
"I'm Molly. Interesting book?" she asks, because it's hard to babble at someone so unresponsive. Except Kingsley. His stoicism on their initial meeting was endearing, of course.

Zach sighed, maybe a little impatiently, but turned to the girl, Molly, again. If she wasn't going to give up, he supposed he should at least give her the time of day, because he wasn't socially retarded, just aloof and not into pointless conversation. "Its terribly boring actually. If it wasn't for class I wouldn't bother."

Molly frowns... no, pouts... no, the combination of the two: she frouts a little. Why does nobody ever 'get' her? "Yeah I kinda got that," she says, bringing her usual smile back because it's easier than frouting. "And I'm knitting because I like to." It's a little shorter than her usual manner when talking to people, but this guy doesn't exactly make it easy for her.

And that was the kind of answer that Zach liked. Straight and to the point, without rambling. Of course, a totally useless answer, but whatever. "Fair enough." He actually smiled a little. "Seems like a pretty boring thing to like to do."

Molly rolls her eyes. It's a good thing she doesn't get angry all that often... her brothers would probably be all too happy to tell Zach exactly how painful and scary that really is. They've probably even got a scar or two to show off. "Oh please, like it even matters who was right and who was wrong? A whole bunch of people and trolls ended up dead anyway. Whatever. That's, like, depressing. Knitting is definitely way better than that rubbish."

Zach thought that it might be pointless arguing about knitting and writing essays so he decided to state his opinion on his essay. "Of course it matters who was right. The trolls didn't belong in that part of the country, so the wizards got them out. Simple as."

He thought he was right, even though he wasn't, and so he had to tell her because that's what Zach does. He states his opinion rudely then demands answers like a right douchebag but doesn't accept other people's opinions unless they have concrete proof! ~~like Harry and the return of Voldemort! gahhhhhh~~

"A lot else could've been done," Molly declares hotly. "They didn't have to use such violence about the whole thing! If the wizards had just been a little compassionate, then the trolls would have been less likely to attack the way they did!"

Violence begets violence, and wizards had a responsibility as the more rational party to deal with the situation fairly and non-violently. They failed. The trolls were just reacting naturally to the situation!"
Molly glowers and tosses her hair back off her shoulders in agitation.

Zach stayed silent for a moment and stared at Molly. Technically she was right, but could he really admit that out loud? He allowed himself a small smile. "Alright, I concede. Even though the Trolls were causing shit beforehand. I suppose they could have tried something else instead of killing everyone."

Molly opens her mouth, stops, closes it, and then grins. "Yeah, I hear killing everyone is, like, not the best way to do things," she says lightly, happy because she totally won.
