[sorry, my net spazzed just a bit so everything ran slow! *kicks it*]

Molly looks up when someone passes her, customary bright smile on her face because she's always bright and bubbly. It turns into a frown though when she sees the unknown boy raise a mocking eyebrow at her. She pulls a face at him and continues knitting.

Being that Zach was into his book, he missed the face red pulled and therefore didn't respond. It wasn't like he'd ever had a friendly word with a Gryffindor anyway. The silence was a little awkward, but Zach could bet it was more so for the girl, since he really couldn't give two shits.

[It's ok, this one was slow because I had to help with the baby nephew ^_^]

Molly doesn't do awkward silences. Because Molly doesn't do silences. She decides to say hello, because it's only polite. And hey, maybe his face is just defective and that's why he always looks like such a git.
"Well, hi! Lovely day," she chirps.

[aww - that sounds much cuter than spazzy internet!]

Since Zach knows that his face is not defective, and is actually kind of attractive, he looked over at the girl. He then glanced up at the sky briefly and shrugged. "Yeah, I guess so."
Hoping she turned on the Prewett happiness Hoping she would stop talking, he turned back to his, terribly boring, book.

Molly rolls her eyes slightly. She's met blocks of cheese that were better conversationalists. Yes, she was high at the time, but that's not the point! She tries again, because why not? Maybe he's just socially retarded or something, and it's her duty as a member of the human race to help him out.
"I'm Molly. Interesting book?" she asks, because it's hard to babble at someone so unresponsive. Except Kingsley. His stoicism on their initial meeting was endearing, of course.

[ oh Molly the druggy hahaha.]

Zach sighed, maybe a little impatiently, but turned to the girl, Molly, again. If she wasn't going to give up, he supposed he should at least give her the time of day, because he wasn't socially retarded, just aloof and not into pointless conversation. "Its terribly boring actually. If it wasn't for class I wouldn't bother."

[LOL Molly's life has been far more interesting since she rejected reality and substituted it with gillyweed.]

Molly grins a little. Wow. Two sentences! Full sentences! So he is capable of forming basic speech patterns!
"Oh yeah, I know how that goes. I always, like, try and get all that stuff over with as quickly as possible so I don't prolong the agony. What class is it for?"

"History of Magic." He answered, furrowing his eyebrows a little at her grin. She was... bubbly. But nice... In a slightly creepy kind of way. "Summer essay on the Troll wars. It's far less interesting than it sounds."

Molly tilts her head to the side. "How could that possibly be less interesting than it sounds?" she demands. "It sounds about as interesting as... well, you know what? I can't even compare it to anything because there is, like, nothing that lame."

Zach sighed. Of course she would take him totally literally. "Exactly. That's my point. It's probably one of the most boring things I've ever had to write about." At the risk of sounding like he really cared, he asked, "Why are you knitting?"

Molly frowns... no, pouts... no, the combination of the two: she frouts a little. Why does nobody ever 'get' her? "Yeah I kinda got that," she says, bringing her usual smile back because it's easier than frouting. "And I'm knitting because I like to." It's a little shorter than her usual manner when talking to people, but this guy doesn't exactly make it easy for her.

[aw this is fun. Inner!Molly is sitting here going 'wtf?' lol]

And that was the kind of answer that Zach liked. Straight and to the point, without rambling. Of course, a totally useless answer, but whatever. "Fair enough." He actually smiled a little. "Seems like a pretty boring thing to like to do."
And there it was. Speaking before thinking that he might be offending someone.

[Hahahha I'm so sorry lol. I want to be chatty, but I don't think Zach's particularly chatty unless he's bragging or being an asshole hahaha. But I don't want to be an a-hole to a girl >.< hahahaha.
ps. Morag would totally get her! Razz]

[hahahaha Molly loves her Library buddy Morag!]

Molly blinks. "That was, like, way rude. Knitting happens to be interesting. And cool," she adds, because even if it wasn't before, Viktor Krum makes anything cool. "And way, way better than your stupid History of Magic book so it's better to be me than you right now."
Wow. That's possibly the bitchiest Molly has been since she arrived in my head.

Zach raised an eyebrow and couldn't hold in his snort of laughter. Yeah, he bet knitting was interesting and cool and entirely annoying when I can't get it tight enough and it looks sloppy. "On any other day I might disagree. Today, however, you might be right. Which just shows how terribly ridiculous this essay really is."

Molly glares a little at his snort of laughter. I always drop stitches and never realise for like 5 lines until it's too late to get them back! "Whatever. Point is - totally sucks to be you and your essay right now. Is it a long essay?" she adds, because she is genetically engineered to talk no matter what the situation.

Zach fights an amused smirk because he thinks he's right in assuming that Molly doesn't get angry often and he's finding it a little fun. "It's four feet of parchment making an argument about who was right; trolls or wizards."

Molly rolls her eyes. It's a good thing she doesn't get angry all that often... her brothers would probably be all too happy to tell Zach exactly how painful and scary that really is. They've probably even got a scar or two to show off. "Oh please, like it even matters who was right and who was wrong? A whole bunch of people and trolls ended up dead anyway. Whatever. That's, like, depressing. Knitting is definitely way better than that rubbish."

Zach thought that it might be pointless arguing about knitting and writing essays so he decided to state his opinion on his essay. "Of course it matters who was right. The trolls didn't belong in that part of the country, so the wizards got them out. Simple as."

Molly stares at him over the top of her knitting. "'Simple as'? Really? You think the end, like, justifies the means? It was a total bloodbath! It doesn't matter who was right, what matters is that if it had been handled differently, there'd not have been so many deaths on either side!"

"There was no other way." Zach stated blandly. "Trolls aren't rational beings. They're one track creatures. What else could have been done?"
He thought he was right, even though he wasn't, and so he had to tell her because that's what Zach does. He states his opinion rudely then demands answers like a right douchebag but doesn't accept other people's opinions unless they have concrete proof! like Harry and the return of Voldemort! gahhhhhh

[sorry, had a moment there. lol.]

[lol it's all good. Inner!Molly is flipping out right now and making violent gestures with her knitting needles though...]

"A lot else could've been done," Molly declares hotly. "They didn't have to use such violence about the whole thing! If the wizards had just been a little compassionate, then the trolls would have been less likely to attack the way they did!"

[Am I being a little too frustrating? haha. According to Harry Potter Wiki, he's supposed to be a generally unpleasant person lol. feedback? *smile*]

Zach rolled his eyes. "Apparently you didn't get the part about not being rational. Talking to them would have done nothing. They were being terrors, unsurprisingly, so we did what we had to. I'm not saying that that tactic always works, but in this case, it did."

[haha - it's great! He really is amazingly frustrating right now! Razz *grins and watches Inner!Molly twitch*]

"I didn't say just talking to them! Merlin, you are so annoying! You're, like, not even listening to what I'm saying! Most people, creatures, animals, respond better when treated with a little respect or understanding! Violence begets violence, and wizards had a responsibility as the more rational party to deal with the situation fairly and non-violently. They failed. The trolls were just reacting naturally to the situation!"
Molly glowers and tosses her hair back off her shoulders in agitation.

Zach stayed silent for a moment and stared at Molly. Technically she was right, but could he really admit that out loud? He allowed himself a small smile. "Alright, I concede. Even though the Trolls were causing shit beforehand. I suppose they could have tried something else instead of killing everyone."
