Severus is sitting by the fire, curled up with a book that he is reading intently.

Pansy wandered down from the girls dormitory, a new potions book in her hands. She settled into the large armchair by the fire, but didn't really want to start on homework yet. "Hey, Sev. Good reading?"

Severus looks up at the sound of Pansy's voice. "Yeah, if you give a hippogriff's right buttock about goblin rebellions. I'd ask your help in murdering Binns, but he's already dead."

Dee wanders in. "Hi you guys."

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"Unfortunate, really," she laughed, cracking open her book and flipping quickly through the pages. "That potions essay... how long did it have to be? Oh, hey Dee!"

"Hi. I think it was one and a half feet actually." She sits down and cracks open her book.

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"Not looking forward to that one," Pansy sighed, adjusting her book in her lap to read a while.

"I'm getting out of here. The first years are giving me a headache." Severus waves goodbye to Pansy, ignoring everyone else as he heads out of the room.

"Later, Sev," Pansy said, leaning back in her chair and not really absorbing the information her eyes were scanning. Maybe she could find a way to get out of doing this essay.

Pansy sighed and got up, closing her book. She wasn't being productive here, and needed a few different books to do her essay with. The one she had didn't have quite the information she was looking for. "I'm off to the library for a bit. Catch you guys later," she announced to whoever cared to listen, which she knew wouldn't be the first years huddled in the corner playing some kind of stupid game with lots of yelling and screeching. She rolled her eyes at them and headed for the door.

Dee waved absentmindedly, her focus on her book.

Pansy came back in with a few thick books in her arms, sitting down at a table in a back corner of the common room. She sat the stack of books to one side and pried one of them open, sending up a cloud of dust that left her coughing and sputtering. Stupid homework. She wondered where everyone was tonight, noticing the only people in the common room were that same group of stupid first years.

Unable to concentrate, Pansy gathered up her books and headed toward the girls' dormitory to get some sleep.

*Tam walked in and slumped into a chair by the fire*

Severus slams open the door, and collapses into an empty armchair close to the fire. He ignores the sounds of others around him, not really conscious enough to be aware of his surroundings. He feels even more ill than before, and struggles to retain focus. He stares blankly into the flames, feeling more numb than anything else.

*Tam sat up when Sev came back in* Severus... *she tapped him gently on the shoulder* Snape! You need to talk?

[I will still say Sev in my thoughts because Severus is too long to type]

Severus is vaguely aware of Tamsyn tapping on his shoulder, and looks up at her looking confused. "Talk? No. No talk. I'm okay. Just tired." He feels a little strength returning to him finally, and notices that he is still covered in leaves, twigs, and dirt, and has left a trail of muddy footprints behind him. He decides he's too damn apathetic to bother cleaning it up.

*snorts* Severus, you look like you got dragged through a swamp... you sure you don't need anything? *is genuinely concerned*

"I'm. Fine. I just spent the night in the Forbidden Forest. Yes, I am going to be a little dirty. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to my dorm." Severus looked pissed off again, and was feeling a bit better. He had the strength to move, at any rate, and he climbed the stairs to the boys dormitory.

[Gotta go, sorry]

*Tam watched him go, she really hoped he would talk to someone soon, even if it wasn't her...*
