Re: The Three Broomsticks
Rolf was rather relieved to hear that his owl didn't seem to bother Viktor at all. "Well, that's good then. Zachary is a rather nice owl after all. Maybe that's because I feed him lots of treats in order to gain his love." Rolf stared at Viktor for a moment, completely surprise. "You...you have a pet duck?" he asked in surprise. "I didn't realize...that ducks could be trained to delivery letters. Does the duck fly as quickly as owls?" he asked. Rolf just wasn't sure what to think of the duck concept, for it was totally new and different to him. He's just a bit surprised.

Re: The Three Broomsticks
Viktor smirks. He likes the name Zachary for an owl. Maybe Zachary and Kiora could be buddies. "Vell, I guess my duck is just smart?" He shrugged. Kiora was rather intelligent compared to other birds. "I found her ven she vos a duckling and trained her. She delivers my mail just as quickly as all the owls seem to, though. I know it's different, but I just like ducks, I guess." Viktor hopes Rolf can accept him for owning a duck. He's already met some people who have thought owning a pet duck was weird, but since when does Viktor care what some people think?

Re: The Three Broomsticks
Dom figured that the name would be rather well liked. Rolf always accepted everything about Viktor, so Viktor really shouldn't think like that at all. Rolf just thought it was different, but he liked it. He really did. "That's pretty amazing," he said with a grin. "Definitely have to say that I've never heard of that before and you just might be the first to train a duck to that. Really quite an impressive thing. What's her name?" he asked, for he realized that he didn't know and what if he ever met her? It'd be nice to know her name. Mhmm.

Re: The Three Broomsticks
Rolf is such a gentleman, wanting to know Kiora's name before meeting her and all. Kiora and Zachary being a bird couple would be adorable, but for some reason Viktor thinks Zachary might be a very gay owl who's in love with another owl named Chris. Who knows. "Kiora," he answered, smiling at his boyfriend because it meant a lot that Rolf was actually showing interest in his unique pet. "I don't know vare I got the name from. It just...fit, I guess. You could meet her someday if you'd like. She's alvays been pretty friendly vith strangers."

Re: The Three Broomsticks
OMG. Dom would die of adorableness if they were a bird couple. Though, it would be even more amazing if there was an owl named Chris somewhere in the castle. Let's be real. "Kiora?" he repeated. "I love it. That's a great name," he said with a wide smile. "I'd love to meet her sometime," Rolf said, taking one last sip of his butterbeer. He noticed that Viktor was done as well and decided it was best to go and show Viktor more of Hogsmeade. "Ready to go and see some of the other shops?" he suggested. He leaned in, gave Viktor a quick kiss, then stood up and tightened his jacket, preparing for the onslaught of cold once they left The Three Broomsticks.

Re: The Three Broomsticks
Well, Kiora's feeling a little rejected right now but I'm sure we can find a Chris owl. Luna only has five characters and most of them have owls. But not Fred, he's poor. Sorry, pal. Viktor beamed at Rolf's approval of Kiora's name, glad that his boyfriend seemed to really be interested in the duck. He smiled at the kiss and stood up behind Rolf, not thinking about ways to keep his boyfriend warm for once because he's actually really enjoying just spending time with him and talking. "Sounds good, but it's your turn to choose vare ve go next," said with a grin as they walked out the front door, because he really doesn't know where to go. Rolf is the Hogsmeade expert here.

Re: The Three Broomsticks
Draco walked in here with Pansy and sat down in a little round booth, his bags next to him but not between them. He asked the waiter for a butterbeer when he came by then turned a little on the bench to face Pansy, "So what is the book you got about?"
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Pansy followed him, scooting in beside him and leaving her bags on the other side of her as well. She ordered a butterbeer as well before looking at him. "It's got ways to use typically defensive spells offensively. Looked pretty interesting, and studying dueling had started to get sort of dull. So hopefully this will make things more interesting again. Maybe eventually I can find an actual other person to practice against, instead of the dummies in the empty classrooms." She shrugged, thinking about how it'd been a while since she practiced, at least not since Christmas. It was probably because she spent her free time hanging out with Draco now rather than in the classrooms practicing. But it was really more enjoyable to spend time with him. Maybe they could find a really large classroom and she could practice while he worked on his potions, so long as she was careful enough to not mess him up or explode his cauldron.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
If she shot a spell and it blasted his potion all over the place he would have to be careful only to brew lust potions around her. I mean... he would never ever let a potion hit her. Nope. Draco nodded thoughtfully and thought about her book for a bit. "Interesting. And it's something that someone dueling you wouldn't expect. Clever." He nodded to the waiter when he dropped off the drinks and took a sip of his, leaning back and sliding an arm around her shoulders.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Pansy will remember to be careful and not sample anything he makes, even if he tells her it's just a calming draught or a simpler variation of Felix Felicis. She smirked a little, nodding. "I thought so. Taking an unexpected approach is usually good for catching someone off guard. And once they're a little off, then they're practically yours to do as you like and dominate the situation." Which, funnily enough, was the same tactic she'd used earlier in the potions room, and it had worked brilliantly. She leaned into him slightly when he put his arm around her, taking a small sip from her butterbeer before setting it back down.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Aww. Draco wouldn't drug her. He doesn't need to. He'll just take the felix felicis himself and get lucky. *insert eyebrow waggle here* And she did use that tactic on him but that distraction was totally worth losing to her, though don't expect him to always cave so easily. Draco smiled as she leaned into him, neatly adding some extra cement to the nice wall in his brain behind which he put all thoughts of ever pushing her away. "Yeah. Speaking of dueling, have you heard from your father lately?"
Re: The Three Broomsticks
I was going to say that won't work, but we all know Felix Felicis always works. Flawlessly. Hopefully he can hold out until he won't need that though. Don't be silly though, Draco will always cave that easily. She just grinds up on him a little bit and he's well on his way to putty in her hands. She's a unicorn, but she's aware of this effect of her actions, just so far as getting him distracted and getting to do what she wants. She glanced up at him as he asked about her father. "No, actually. I haven't heard from mum or dad for a while, not since I came back here. Usually they'd have sent a letter by now just to make sure I've gotten settled in and all, but not this year strangely enough."
Re: The Three Broomsticks
He will not always cave that easily, not when he realizes that he gets absolutely nothing after that little bit of rubbing. Once he gets a little more then he will be putty again. She'll just have to keep upping the stakes. Draco wrinkled his brow, "That's odd. I only got one note from my parents the day after I got back but I haven't really heard from them either. I guess no news is good news?"
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Pansy's only a little disappointed now, because she doesn't want to up the stakes because he will keep wanting her to up them more and more and she's not so keen on that no matter how much she likes him. She chewed on her lip a little bit, as she hadn't really thought about the lack of news from her parents until now. "I guess you're right, it's just really strange not being bombarded by letters from mother. And I haven't heard from dad at all, and he usually writes every so often. Hopefully everything is alright." She shrugged softly, now quite curious and preoccupied by this thought of being left out of the loop of whatever was going on at home. Maybe Draco was right, and things were going so well there was no need to write.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Draco shrugged, "We'll hear from them all too soon I bet." He grabbed a menu when he saw the waiter coming back. Ordering fish and chips he waited for Pansy to order and the man to leave before turning back towards her again. "What else have you been up to recently then? Aside from studying in the library."
Re: The Three Broomsticks
"Oh, probably." She ordered some kind of pasta dish, handing her menu to the waiter as he left. "That's about it. Just reading in the library and spending a bit too much time having to look for you." She narrowed her eyes at him a little bit, but the upward curve of her lips counteracted the displeasure of her eyes. "Not to be clingy, but," she kissed him on the cheek, "I don't like it when you're not around much."
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Draco blinked at her when she narrowed her eyes at him but smiled when she kissed his cheek. He leaned his head against hers, "You're not clingy. And I'm sorry for vanishing so much," He squeezed his arm around her gently and gave her a kiss, "I've just been spending almost all my free time in meetings with Slughorn or brewing. I also keep getting tossed into study sessions with the other students doing these projects. Some of the ideas are moronic but there are a couple actually worth something."
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Pansy nodded, but slowly. Part of her wondered if that was fully true. Sure he liked potions, but he'd never been much of one for study sessions or frequent meetings with professors. He was much more of an independent learner, working on this by himself, wanting to get it perfect of his own accord rather than getting help from elsewhere or other people. Sure some things had changed for him, but Pansy suspected that part of his personality, the fierce desire for independence and to prove himself, would never change. "Alright. It's just hard not seeing you for so long when before break we were together practically every spare moment we had." She laughed softly, looking up as the waiter was gathering their plates of food from the kitchen, heading toward their table.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Questioning your boyfriend? Bad Pansy. Draco is hurt by the very thought that he might not be telling her the whole truth. He gave her a kiss on the cheek as the waiter set down their food, "Sorry, I guess I didn't realize how much time I was really spending on this. You know me and potions, I just lose track of everything else around me." He picked up his cutlery and started to eat.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
He's hurt by the thought that Pansy might be onto something accurate? How terrible. So she will continue to question unless she is taught otherwise, and she does not learn the easy way, so good luck with that. "Yeah, I know you do. Disappear into your own little potions filled world." She smiled a little and picked up her fork, stabbing some of the little bowtie shaped pasta pieces, one at a time mind you, and eating.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Draco grinned at her as he chewed. Once he had swallowed he shrugged, "I like my little potions world. And at least now I'm working on my own things not something some old man wrote down four centuries ago." He took another bite of his fish then reached for the vinegar. Something was missing but a splash of malt fixed the problem.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Pansy wrinkled her nose up as he poured the vinegar, she'd always hated the smell of it and could never add it to her foods. She stabbed another tiny bowtie of pasta, swirling it around in her bowl to gather some extra sauce and cheese on it. "Yeah, studying your own thing is always much more interesting than doing the things in class. I guess that's why I like Astronomy so much, because we don't really do all that much in class but I get lots of outside of class things to keep be interested."
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Draco nodded and ate some chips. "How much more is there for you to study now? I mean I feel like you could teach that class at this point." He ate some more of his vinegared fish, loving every single delicious bite. I don't know how he can do it, Tam's mother and grandparents put vinegar on their food and I don't get it. Draco likes it though.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
"Not much, really. I probably could teach it, to be honest. But I just like reading about it on my own time, not having to worry about other people who need things explained half a dozen times. I like teaching myself." She ate another piece of the pasta, watching him practically inhale his fish. She was always amazed with how quickly he could eat, putting food away before she even got started. Ashley thinks its gross too and will stick to tasty tartar sauce.
Re: The Three Broomsticks
Tam really wants fishcake and chips and mushy peas now. Really badly. In fact she thinks it's almost worth going to Annie's Hole where her grandmother lives to get the good fishcakes. Almost. Not quite. Draco finished his fish and put his cutlery down to pick at his chips. "So now that you've attained all knowing status in that class are you going to pick something else to puzzle over for fifteen years?"
