[That's okay, I had some last minute family bonding stuff last night so I didn't get to go online, and then this morning I was with my grandma so if anyone's late, it's me.]

[Fred Weasley I]

Fred and Gwen walked down to the lake, slowly walking up the path. Fairies glittered everywhere, flickers of light over the black water that was the lake. "I wonder, if we were actually allowed to be out here at night, if everything would look as beautiful." Fred mused. He sat down in the soft moss that covered the bank by the lake and gazed out. "Sit?" He asked Gwen. He spread out his jacket, because he knew sometimes girls didn't like getting mud on their clothing.

Gwen sat down next to Fred, who was being quite a bit sweeter than what she'd heard the Weasley twins were like. She didn't mind getting these clothes muddy. She had dressed specifically for the occasion. "I don't think any of it would be nearly as lovely." Gwen agreed, noticing how the moonlight made Fred's eyes sparkle.

This is so cute it is killing me. I am never going to be able to date anyone after these scenes.
"Once you're allowed to do something, you don't want to do it as much anymore." Fred has experience with these things. In fact, if there's something you want him to not do, just tell him he can. "Your eyes look lovely, with the stars reflected in them." he commented. "Want to go on a boat?" he asked.

[SAY YES BECAUSE I WANT THEM TO FALL IN THE LAKE. NO CLUE WHY. Is this smiley new? ]

Gwen blushed profusely, hoping fervently that the dark hid her pink cheeks. "Alright, let's take a boat ride. Do you know where we could get one though? I've seen people rowing but I've never done so myself." She agreed with Fred about things being more fun and exciting when they were forbidden. It gave the thing itself a sense of mystery and wonder even when there was nothing mysterious or wondrous about it in the first place.

[And no Mads. That smily has always been there.]

[Huh... I'm going crazy ]

Fred could see Gwen blush, and felt a bit embarrassed, as if it was something he wasn't meant to see. Well, she didn't want him to see her pink cheeks obviously, as she ducked her head down. "I do know where we could get a boat, actually. There's a small boat house right over there, with all the boats our hearts could desire. Shall we go pic one?" He held out his hand to help Gwen up from the ground.

If Fred saw her embarrassment, he didn't show it. She took his hand which felt warm in hers. And he pulled her up and she did that little jumpy thing that you do when someone pulls you up. "Let's go, and I hope you know how to row, because I have no idea."

[Fred Weasley I]

Hmm... Fred kind of sort of knows how to row. Be prepared for some spastic rowing! Fred lead Gwen down the dark path to the boat house. Producing a hairpin from his pocket, he quickly opened the lock and held the door open for Gwen. "Quite dark in here, isn't it?" He said to her. There were no lights, the only light coming from the moon shining through the slightly grimy windows, casting a dim glow. "Help me with this?" Fred asked, grabbing a row boat and heaving it towards the door.

Gwen walked over to help Fred, trying hard not to trip over anything in the dark. "Sure thing, which rowboat do we want?" Gwen asked, trying to ignore the thump-thump of her heart which she was almost certain that Fred could hear. "Oh, there it is" She said when he began pushing it. She grabbed it with both her hands and began to pull it out of the boathouse.

[*is plotting out this rowing scene in her head...*]

Fred's heart was thumping just as loud, so there was no way he could hear Gwen's heart over his own. He pushed the boat into the water, and climbed in off of the dock. "Are you ready?" He asked Gwen, helping her in and grabbing the oars.

Gwen looked into Fred's very blue eyes, "As ready as I ever will be." And she climbed into the rowboat. Sitting on the seat facing Fred. Maybe this would be her chance...But it was so risky, what if he didn't feel the same way? Gwen was so busy with her mental debate that she barely noticed when Fred started rowing.

[Inner!Vee is getting a bit impatient and throwing her popcorn at the screen]

After a few minutes of slow rowing, Fred decided something needed to be done. "It's much easier when two people row. Why don't I teach you?" Not that he's good at it himself, but-. He passed one of the oars to her, and put his hand over hers, gently moving it in the correct-ish motion for rowing. His heart was thumping loud enough that he was pretty sure they could hear it in Australia.

[Inner!Jenna is about to scream at Inner!Gwen to just kiss him already and since she scares me a little bit I'll take her advice for fear of Jenna ruining the moment.]

If it was even possible, Gwen's heartbeat got even quicker and louder and she was having trouble concentrating on anything but Fred's hand on hers and his gorgeous eyes looking into hers as if they saw all the way into them. Their faces were inches away and Gwen decided now, to pluck up every single bit of courage that she had, and move her head closer and closer until finally her lips touched Fred's in a kiss.

[Jenna is cheering loudly now.]

[I think Vee is trying to call Jenna on my cell phone, except when you are in my head, you have limited service so hopefully it isn't working, because I really don't want them getting together right now. They would probably plot something evil.]

Fred could count Gwen's eye lashes, she was so close. Although, if he did, that would be weird and time wasting and he doesn't want to anyway because there is more important business to attend to. Like what just happened.
Gwen's lips were on his and it was lovely and he didn't want it to stop. After quite a while, they broke apart. "That was-" Fred was about to finish the sentence, when the boat tipped over. Oh shit what to do now

Gwen yelped, and then she plunged into the icy water with the feeling of Fred's lips on hers still lingering. She tried to look for him in the water, and then spotted him and swam over to him. She grabbed his hand and held on tight. Who knew what kind of mood the squid and merpeople were in. If it was a bad one, Gwen didn't want to stick around to find out. "Are you okay Fred?"

Fred inhaled sharply as he hit the icy cold water. Luckily, he was a good swimmer. He swam towards Gwen. "I'm fine! Are you okay?" Actually he was a lot better than fine. Or he would be once he was out of the icy water. Luckily, they were close to land, thanks to Fred's mediocre rowing. He held on to Gwen's hand and swam back to where it was easier to walk, and trudged, sodden, up the bank.

"Yeah, I'm alright" The two swam over to the shore and dragged themselves out. Gwen was soaked and cold too. She started shivering, well, you get cold when you mix one a.m. with an icy cold lake! She wrapped her arms around Fred, who was looking at her with a funny expression on his face and leaned in to hiss him again.

That says hiss, and Fred is hurt.

Fred kissed her back, although they were both a bit cold and wet and covered in lake water, and then put his jacket (which he had thankfully forgot on the bank where they had been sitting) around Gwen. "We should walk back to the castle." He said, looking at her blue lips.

Gwen wrapped the jacket tighter around her shivering frame. Her teeth were chattering too. "T-thank-kks Fred." She managed to get out before the chattering resumed. She leaned into his body for warmth, how Fred managed to not be cold, was far beyond her comprehension.

Fred is cold, but he's a guy so he is incapable of showing it. Duhhh.
"Anytime, Gwen." He swept her off her feet and carried her up to the castle. He did this for three reasons.
1. She was cold. It would be warmer like that.
2. Carrying someone up a slope when you are cold is a surefire way to get you sweating
3. It's fun
And they got to the castle.

All of a sudden, Gwen felt a strong pair of arms sweep her off her feet. She gave a soft yelp and then wrapped her arms around Fred's neck as to hold on. He was right, she was warmer this way, not to mention it was an incredibly sweet thing for him to do. "You, are the best." Gwen told him, then reached herself up to kiss him gently on the cheek.

Dinner time!
