Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy had nearly fallen asleep on his shoulder when he turned her face up toward him. She smiled lightly and nodded, because them not being in their beds in the morning would certainly not go over well with his parents. She got up, laughing again when he kissed her, possibly because she was tired, possibly because she just liked it so much. She picked up her shoes from the floor by the door, following him up the stairs rather sleepily. They made their way through the grand room again, sure to close up the entrance before they left. Back up on the hall in front of her bedroom door. He took a few steps toward his room, glancing back at her to see if she was following. But Pansy had stopped at her door, not intending to come stay with him quite so soon. After one last quick kiss she disappeared into her room and shut the door quietly behind her, changing into pajamas and climbing into bed. She curled up in a little ball quite happily, falling asleep with a smile on her face.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled as she gave him one last goodnight kiss, he hadn't really expected her to join him in his room but if she had he would never have complained. Walking into his own room he pulled off his shirt and pants and crawled beneath the sheets. He fell asleep thinking of all the wonderful things that had happened that evening and woke up the next morning with a smile on his face. He looked at his watch and saw that it was almost nine. Grabbing a clean t-shirt and his sweatpants he pulled them on and left his room. After gently knocking and getting no reply he peered into Pansy's room and saw her still curled up in the middle of her bed. With a grin he walked over and sat on the side of it. She looked so peaceful and he didn't really want to wake her up just yet.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy slept through the night quite happily, but as her bed shifted a little with motion that she didn't cause, her eyes flicked open and she'd momentarily forgotten where she was. She looked around until her eyes rested on Draco who was sitting on the edge of her bed, and she smiled at him a little, uncurling to stretch her legs out under the blankets. "Morning." She sat up in bed before she managed to fall back asleep, running her fingers through her hair quickly to straighten it out. "So what's the plans for today?" His hair was still messy from sleeping, she supposed he hadn't stopped by a mirror on his way here or else it probably would have been fixed and smoothed like it always tended to be. His eyes were bright though, piercing as if he could look right through her. And his cheeks were no longer sunken, the circles beneath his eyes no longer present, and he was looking more like his normal self than he had in a long time. That was always comforting to see.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He smiled at her as she sat up to face him, running her fingers through her hair. He knew his probably looked a mess but with her he didn't mind, she had seen him at his absolute worst and this was far from it. "Morning," he moved further on to the bed to sit next to her legs, "I'm not sure yet. I guess we get ready and head down to breakfast and see if my parents need us to do anything. If not then I suggest we head back down to the room and look around it a bit, check out every inch of it." He reached out and ran a finger over her cheek then got up and grinned at her, "I'm off to shower, see you in awhile?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy nodded at his short rundown of the plan for the morning, smiling at his touch. She watched him leave and pull the door shut behind him, forcing herself out of bed and to the bathroom connected to her bedroom where she turned up the water and stripped down to get in the shower. Afterwards she wrapped herself in one of their overly huge fluffy towels and headed back into her bedroom to stand in front of the armoire and try to pick out something to wear. She supposed that for simple breakfast and exploring jeans and a shirt would be fine. After finishing getting ready, she headed out of her room and down the hall to Draco's, knocking and listening for his voice before she went in. "Hi."
Re: Malfoy Manor
He got under the shower and, with surprising speed considering it was Draco, finished showering and went to the sink to brush his teeth and shave. He combed his hair back and used a quick drying charm to take most of the wetness off it then walked back into his room to dress. He had just pulled his jeans on when she knocked on his door. "Yep, come on in." He pulled on a black t-shirt and grabbed a slytherin green sweater before turning to her. Walking over he smiled at her and gave her a good morning hug and peck on the cheek, "You look lovely this morning." He sat on the edge of his bed and pulled on some shoes. "All set?"
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy glanced at the floor as he kissed her on the cheek and told her she looked lovely. "Thanks." She only mumbled in response not quite used to being told things like that so often, to being kissed so often. She went and perched on the edge of his bed beside him while he put his shoes on. "Yep. Down to the kitchens or are we actually eating at the table?" She wasn't sure, as it could really go either way at his house. Some days they just grabbed whatever the house elves were cooking in the kitchen, and sometimes they went and sat in the dining room and waited for breakfast to be brought out to them.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He got up and pulled on his sweater then held the door as she walked out ahead of him, "Kitchens I think, if my parents want us they'll tell an elf. I think I also want to find out if the elves know about that room because it wasn't dusty and I don't see any of my predecessors caring enough about cleanliness to cast long term charms on the place." As they walked down the stairs he looked around the house, half enjoying being home again thanks to Pansy's presence, and half wishing he was back at the castle, even if he was more alone.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy shrugged at him as they made their way down the hall. "There could always be some kind of time warp on the room. It could seem logical, if it was used as a hiding place from others, that they'd want to get away for as long as they could without anyone wondering where they were. Maybe time is slower in there, so there's less dust? Or maybe I'm just making things up." She laughed and slipped her hand into his and gave it a light squeeze as she noticed him looking around at his home in a somewhat regretful sort of way. She knew he didn't really like being home, but maybe it wouldn't be so bad this time.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He smiled at her when she took his hand, "Well we should time how long we're in there and check because as random as that seems I wouldn't put it past one of my ancestors. They were an interesting bunch to say the least." He smiled at her and held the door as they walked into the kitchens. "Okay what do you want?" He turned to one of the elves and ordered an omelette and chips, grabbing a green apple from the fruit bowl while they waited.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Following him into the kitchen, she was reminded again that even though they came from the same sort of background and grew up in the same world, just how different they still were. Whereas Pansy's home had two elves, Draco's hand many more. They used to have about a dozen, but she wasn't sure now if it was more or less. Regardless, there were several of them moving about the kitchen, walking all around each other and carrying things and cooking and cleaning. "Um, I'll just have that thing Itsy always made me when we were little." She never knew exactly what it was, but that one little elf had always made it for her, ever since that one morning she'd spent the night and woke up sick and didn't even have to get out of bed that day, what with the little elf bringing her food and Draco sitting on the other end of her bed keeping her company. Apparently Itsy had been listening, or had known Pansy would ask for it and had gotten it ready ahead of time, and soon appeared with the quesadilla-looking breakfast on a blue plate. It was like a massive flour tortilla stuffed with fruit and whipped cream, grilled so that the fruit got a little warm and juicy with all the sugary liquid melting together inside the tortilla. "Thanks." She held onto her plate and waited for Draco's food to be finished as well.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Tam just found a photo of that and wants it desperately. Draco nodded at the elf as it put the plate in front of him and he tossed the apple core in the bit next to him. "Those always look so good." Picking up his plate he grabbed some napkins and two bottles of pumpkin juice and then remembered what he had wanted to ask, "Itsy, do you know about a room in the north wing, one hidden away?" When the elf confirmed that they did thanked him and he led Pansy out of the kitchens again. "I wonder if there's any other way to that room, we should check." They walked up the stairs and over to the cabinet, "Can you hold these?" He handed her his plate and tucked the napkins in his back pocket. Pushing the cabinet aside he pulled out his wand and lit the way down. After some juggling he took his plate back from her and led their way down.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy followed him up to the room that they never used to find interest in that they'd taken a definite liking to in the past day. She took his plate and followed him into the dark doorway and waited at the top of the steps until the cupboard was pushed slightly back into place, his wand was lit, and he took his plate back, following him down the steps. At the base of the steps, she paused. "Oh, wait. What time is it?" No matter how silly the theory was, she figured she might as well know for sure that time passes the same inside the room as it does outside. Who knows what kind of charms might be put on the room if it were to be used as a retreat, though it couldn't be totally secret if Itsy had known about it. Then again, the house elves explored the home while cleaning a lot more than the Malfoys would have.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He looked at his watch, "Nine forty seven. Okay so let's see what time it is when we leave." He followed her walking into the room and set down his plate and the bottles on the table. Moving it closer to them he sat down on the sofa with her and picked up his plate and Picked up his fork. "Mmm, I have to say that this is so much better than a Hogwarts breakfast." He looked at her plate and before he started in on his own he reached over and took a bite of hers, "Itsy always has been an amazing cook."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy headed in through the cabinet entrance, walking over and taking a seat on the newly expanded couch. She kicked her shoes off again, glancing at the empty fire pit before she pulled her feet up onto the couch so she could tuck them under her legs to keep them warm. "Agreed, I actually like eating breakfast at your house." She laughed, but gave him a somewhat fake glare when he stole some of her food, leaning over to look him in the eye. "And you've always been an amazing stealer of food for someone who likes to lecture me about eating so often."
Re: Malfoy Manor
He saw her glance at the fire pit and put his plate to one side to pull his wand out. After lighting the pit he picked up his plate again and chuckled as she spoke then gave her a very very fake innocent expression to counter her glare. "I'm just making sure it's good enough for you, can't have you eating something bad can we?" He smiled at the fake glare she was still shooting him and leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on her cheek. He had missed his ease between them where they both knew everything about each other and thus nothing had to be hidden or concealed.
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Draco, I know if I was eating you could care less if it was 'good' or not." She laughed and rolled her eyes at him, glancing shyly away when he kissed her on the cheek. It was nice from how it had used to be these past few weeks, a nice change from even the past few years. They had always been close, but the casual kisses were new and welcome and when they held hands now it was more than just a friendly gesture. He made her skin tingle and her cheeks warm. Pansy slid a little closer to him on the couch, sitting comfortably as she ate another small bite of her breakfast.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He smiled as she moved closer, "Well I don't want you eating disgusting things, that's no good for anyone. For instance I would not be feeling all that comfortable if you at anything that your mother had eaten." He cut up some more of his omelette and almost groaned as he took another bite. There was almost nothing to compare to a good meal, almost. He shifted slightly so their knees and shoulders brushed against each other. He could smell her shampoo and the lingering smell of her perfume.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy smiled, her stomach flipping slightly as he let their shoulders and knees touch. "Yeah, I try to avoid anything my mother has come into contact with." She laughed and glanced at him out of the corner of her eye before she ate a little more of her breakfast. This was one of the only sorts of food that she would cut and eat relatively normally with a fork in normal bite sizes. She ate a bit more until she was full, sitting the plate on the table and leaning back again to rest her head lightly on his shoulder as he finished eating.
Re: Malfoy Manor
He saw her put the plate down and noticed there wasn't actually all that much of it left. He smiled at her, "This was always one of the few things where you would actually eat most of it." Her head on his shoulder was a comfortable weight, one old and familiar. He quickly finished of his own breakfast and hers too, it was too delicious to go to waste. After finishing both plates he banished them to the kitchen and relaxed back into the sofa, his arm sliding around her shoulders.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy sighed softly in happiness and shut her eyes a moment. With the fire pit warming the room and his arm around her shoulders she felt quite happy and safe. It was strange to think that hardly a week or two ago she had been convincing herself that she hated his guts, attempting to get over him as best she could, and yet here she sat with his arm around her as Draco Malfoy's girlfriend. His girlfriend. She couldn't really believe it, but she wouldn't go back to making herself think otherwise. No, she had never really been over him. Pansy turned her head a little to look up at him. "So since your parents haven't collected us for something yet, it seems we have at least the morning for ourselves." She wasn't sure what they would do, if he ha anything in mind or not. Even if they just sat here, she figured she would like that as good as anything else.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco smiled at her and tightened his arm slightly around her shoulders in a pseudo hug. "Well I know the original plan was to explore the room but I'm so comfy here I don't really want to get up." He couldn't wipe the small smile off his face as they sat there together. Finally things felt right with them really properly together this time. He was going to put the future on the backburner and enjoy the present with her, for the first time in a while not worrying about the future. He couldn't remember the last time he'd been this happy with his life and he didn't think anything could ruin his mood right now.
Re: Malfoy Manor
Pansy laughed and traced her fingers across his cheek gently. "Then don't get up," she whispered. Unavoidably, the thoughts she'd been attempting to crush down before made a quick pass through her mind. The worries that being with him now would only make it harder to tell him goodbye after school when they had to go their own ways and get married to whoever their parents decided were good enough. The frustrations of his involvement with the Death Eaters that she knew he couldn't easily escape, but that he wouldn't leave behind if he could. He needed to prove himself to his father, she knew that, and as much as she didn't like it, she couldn't change it. There was so much about him that she felt like she didn't understand. She felt like so much had changed in these few months of school, but they'd been too busy fighting to learn what was going on with each other. "So how've you been? I know recently, I just mean... we haven't talked much this school year before recently, unless we were fighting. And that's not really talking."
Re: Malfoy Manor
Draco chuckled, "No it isn't. Well this year... hmmm. Aside from what's been happening with you not much in my life. I saw Blaise the other day and we're okay but we're not as close as we used to be. Classes are going much better this year actually, especially potions. I've actually fallen out of touch with almost everyone this year or I've fought with them and pushed them away. When we go back to school I think the first thing I need to do is apologize to Scorp, we haven't talked since our fight." He didn't like bringing it up again but it was unavoidable. At some point they were also going to have to talk about their relationship and what they wanted to do about it at Hogwarts as far as the gossip web was concerned. "So how has your life been? More social than mine I assume."
Re: Malfoy Manor
"Yeah, I think you should definitely try and fix things with him. It would make me feel better at least if you two could get along again. But I guess my life's been revolving around studying for the most part. But you knew that much. And I guess without you to hang out with, I did make other friends. Hung out with Scorp a lot, met his friend Al, talked to Blaise some, and of course Sev. Marco and I got sort of close after that last fight he broke up. I even met some people in other houses surprisingly, Rad who's a Puff and Viktor who's a Gryffindor. None of them could ever really replace what we had though." She slipped her fingers between his, pressing closer to his side. They were all great friends in different ways, but not one of them had been close to what she'd had with Draco. There always had been something different between them no one else could match.
