James watched her reaction carefully, realizing that what he had said clearly was not the best sort of thing based on how she responded. He was only trying to be truthful about how he felt or viewed the whole thing, but perhaps he should have tried to sugarcoat it just a little bit. “Parv?” he said hesitantly, freezing slightly when she buried her face into his shoulder. He really hadn’t meant to upset her and felt awful for being responsible for doing so. “I’m sorry,” he said instantly, not really knowing what to do when it came to upsetting and comforting girls. He just…he’d never really done it before. It’s not as if he had any seriously steady girlfriends before and even when Lily was upset, he wasn’t so great at calming her. Gently digging his teeth into his bottom lip for a moment, he then wrapped his arms around her tightly and hoped that holding her would help to calm her. “Somehow we’ll make everything work,” he said softly, keeping his arms around her.

Parvati stayed silent as she kept her face pressed into his shoulder but she quickly shook her head as he apologized. “Don’t,” She mumbled out quietly. She really didn’t want him to apologize to her anymore for any of the things that were happening to them. She didn’t view any of them as his fault and she figured that if she accepted his apology then that would be just like her letting him accept the blame and she didn’t want him to do that. She shifted on him slightly, moving to slip her arms behind his neck as she hugged him tightly. Though she kept her face looking away from him, or buried into his neck or his shoulder as much as she could. As much as she loved that James was holding her and wanting to comfort her she really still didn’t want him to see her cry. It was one thing when it was just a few tears falling but if it turned into full blown sobbing then she really didn’t want anyone to see her crying. She didn’t want them to see the way her face looked when she cried, the way it changed and made her look ugly in her opinion, and she didn’t want them to see her so vulnerable and see how weak she really was. "Thank you," She breathed out quietly, her voice cracking as she said it.

James nodded when she said “don’t”, for he immediately understood what she had meant. It went right back to their conversation on taking or accepting blame for what was happening, but that really hadn’t been what he meant. He had just really been apologizing for upsetting her, but figured that talking about such a thing right now was useless and not a good idea when it was much better to just try and comfort her. He soon realized that she obviously couldn’t see him nodding his head since she kept her face buried into him, and the thought of the rough material of his tunic against her cheek made him wince. “You’ve got nothing to thank me for,” he said, moving one of his hands to try and get her to lift her face away from the scratchy material.

Post  Parvati Patil June 27th 2011, 5:26 am

Parvati's eyes widened as she turned her head and noticed that Scorpius was laying under her. "Scorpius?" She asked quietly, still shocked that he was here. "What are you even doing here? Where is Al? What happened to James?" She asked, having a lot of unanswered questions running through her mind. "What---What's going on here?" She really was confused as to why her boyfriend turned into Scorpius and she was starting to wonder if she was being punked or something.

Parvati shrugged her shoulders gently as he said she didn’t have anything to thank him for. She could probably list of a million reasons for her to thank James. Though all of those things would be little things that he probably doesn’t even notice he does. She really was thankful for everything that did for her, even the little things like playing with her hair or just doing something simple like when he stared at her and smiled and he had no idea that she was watching him out of the corner of her eye. She froze slightly as she felt his hand on her face and moved her face away from it at first. It was only after a few moments when she realized that there was really no point in resisting him. She would end up giving into James eventually, it always happened. There was just something about him. If he asked her or told her to do something then in the end she would end up doing it. He may not try to be so persuasive about things but really he was and he could get her to do anything for him. Especially if he pouted or used the puppy dog eyes. She moved her face off of his shoulder, still not turning it to look at him though as she just looked away from him, still not saying anything to avoid having him notice that she was crying.

LOLOLOL OOPS. I used the wrong screen with posting and didn’t even notice. MY B.

James felt bad when she didn’t turn to him at first, for he didn’t want to force her to look at him if she really didn’t want to. He was slightly confused though as to why she wasn’t looking at him, for he was a tiny bit dense and couldn’t really figure out why. He’s just…not used to girls really crying and how to handle it. The two girls he’s closest with, his sister and mum, are both pretty tough and don’t cry often. So yeah. What he obviously realized though was that she was being unbelievably quiet and it was almost rather unsettling. “Err…did I do something wrong? I mean, I realize my response was kind of like…the harsh truth sort of one and that maybe I should have rephrased it or something and if I could hit the undo button, I totally would but unfortunately life doesn’t have one of those so I can’t really take back my harsh answer and I’m sorry if it really wasn’t one that you wanted to hear and now I’m rambling so I’ll just…stop,” he said, mumbling the last bit.

Parvati shook her head quickly as he asked if he did something wrong. "No," She said quietly as she shook her head, for she really didn't want to think that he did something wrong. He had told her the truth and even though it probably could have been worded a little different so that it wouldn't have upset her to much he gave her the truth still. She moved one of her hands from where it was hugging his neck and quickly wiped her face before taking a deep breath, letting it out shakily before turning to him. "Please stop apologizing," She said quietly. "It's not your fault, you didn't know that what you said was going to upset me," She said, still speaking rather quietly as she blinked her eyes quickly, opening them wide every time while looking up at the ceiling with them as she tried to avoid letting any tears fall now that she was looking at him.

Even though Parvati tried to reassure him that it wasn’t really his fault for upsetting her, James still couldn’t help but feel rather responsible. Thinking back to his words, they had been blunt and truthful, but perhaps that wasn’t what she needed right now. More than anything, with what they were going through, she needed comfort and reassurance. “Right,” he said softly, noticing her eyes still weren’t really on him. “I just…” he stopped before he really began, gently reaching out to her face to have her really look at him. “Know that no matter what comes at us, whether here or when we’re home, I’m not going anywhere. I love you. I love you so much and don’t want you to think that I’ll never be here for you,” he said sincerely.

Parvati sniffed as she looked down at him and nodded slowly. She lifted her hand, wiping her cheeks again as she moved off of him so she was no longer on top of him, laying on her side right next to him, letting the front of her body gently press into his side. It was really all that she needed from him right now. She just needed that small amount of physical contact from him. "I love you too," She said quietly, just barely above a whisper as she gave him a very faint smile. "Like a lot," She added quietly to get her point across that she really did love James and there was no way she would ever love anybody more than she loved James.

SORRY. I had to shower since my hair smelled like chlorine and just...ew.

James smiled in return to her small one and it still shocked him that he was so lucky to be able to find a girl like Parvati. Perhaps it definitely was a good thing that he was nearly late with handing in his potions assignment for Slughorn. Otherwise, who knows if he would have even had the chance to really and literally bump into Parvati. He decided to tell her something that he hoped would cheer her up a little bit and not make her upset again and cleared his throat softly. "You know, I think about us a lot. Just... what's going to happen when we're both out of school and on our own. And I mean, I like to think of us in a flat together when we're saving up money to get a house. And I like to think about me making us breakfast in bed and maybe we could get a dog. I really like dogs, though mum always said no when growing up to getting one. And I like to think of kissing you before leaving for work, then not wanting to leave and just wanting to stay cuddled up in bed all day. Then through work I'll just be thinking about nothing but coming home to you and kissing you hello. Just being with you."

Parvati listened to his words, looking down slightly as she just focused on everything he was saying. She couldn’t help but let a small smile grace her lips for she really did want all of that too and just the idea of having it with James made her smile. She could easily see herself marrying James one day and living with him and having kids with him and building a family. It was definitely something she wanted. Though with cheering she wasn’t going to have all that much time to be at home and her schedule wouldn’t be very regular so she didn’t know how that would affect them but she really hoped that they could just work through that and figure out a way to deal with it. She grabbed his hand and gently gave it a soft squeeze before looking up at him through her eyelashes for a few moments. “Okay,” She said softly with a small nod. “That sounds like a good plan to me.”

James was relieved when what he said didn't freak her out that much, for the last thing he wanted was to upset her again by saying something that referred to the future. "Brilliant," he said softly, a word that his uncle tended to overuse quite a bit. But really, there was no other way to describe it. What he had with Parvati was brilliant and he was going to do everything in his power to keep it that way. Sure, he knew that the two of them would have their disagreements, but that's how all couples were. That still wouldn't change the fact that he loved her a lot. "Are you comfortable? Do you want anything?" he asked.

Parvati shook her head, alternating between a nod and a shake at both his questions. "I'm fine," She said quietly, letting her head rest against his shoulder as she let out a deep sigh and closed her eyes for a moment. All she really wanted right now was to just lay there in silence and just relax and not talk, or have James just play with her hair while she lays there in silence and just relaxes a little. She would never straight up ask James for that though because she doesn't want to come off as needy or annoying. Though James would probably never see her that way she was still nervous a little bit that he would.

"Alright," James said, his tone quiet like hers had been as he shifted slightly to get real comfortable. "Sorry," he mumbled, for he had probably caused her to shift when he had moved. In a more comfortable position and much more relaxed, he sighed softly and hoped that Joe or his wife wouldn't come looking for the two of them for a while. They needed the quiet and needed to be away from prying or curious eyes. And James would never think of her as needy or anything, though he is seriously not a mind reader so Parvati should just ask him <.< James would totally be okay with playing with her hair. Yep.

Parvati shifted slightly next to him, her head lifting up off of him as he got comfortable. "It's fine," She said softly as she rested her head back down on his shoulder and thought for a moment. "Hey James, remember when I walked up to Joe and I asked him how often he showered and you said that if I did it you would do whatever I wanted you to do," She said, hoping he would remember. "Well what exactly did anything mean when you said that? Did you really mean you would do anything for me? Like anything at all?"

James was quiet when he listened to what she said and nodded his head. He smiled when he thought back to that day, for he had been rather impressed that she had asked Joe how often he cleaned himself. Though, James really did not like the answer and it still rather disgusted him. "Well, yeah," he said with a small frown. "I'd do anything for you anyways, but I did promise you that too," he said. "Why? Did you think of something?"

"Well, I don't know I'm just kind of you know just laying here and you know I just kind of want to you know relax and stuff," She said, not realizing how much she had just said you know in that sentence. "I was thinking maybe since you owed me a little something something you could like play with my hair a little bit if you want to and it would help me relax a little bit because it feels really nice and good. If you don't want to them that's fine too but it would be nice of you."

James looked at her for a moment with a bit of a surprised face. "You want me to play with your hair? That's it? That's what you want me to do for you?" he asked, rather surprised that the simple little thing was what she wanted in return for asking Joe about his bathing schedule. "Parv, I'll do that for you and that definitely won't count as me doing something for you. I really don't mind doing that, because I love running my hands through your hair. It's always really soft," he said with a small shrug.

Parvati nodded slowly and froze up a bit as he seemed surprised she wanted him to do that. Did he think that was weird or something? Did he not want to play with her hair? She shouldn't have asked. It was a dumb idea anyways---Oh. He was just surprised that was it. Phew. He had her a little bit worried for a second there. "Oh, okay," She said softly. "Well thank you," she added as he said her hair was soft and loosened her grip on his hand so he could use it to play with her hair as she gently nuzzled her head into his shoulder.

"Mhmm," he hummed in reply, not seeing anything wrong with her wanting him to play with her hair. He rather enjoyed doing it, for it was something that actually relaxed him and he figured it relaxed her as well. So really, it was something that was a win for the both of them. He pulled his hand from hers and began to run his fingers through her hair, gently running his fingers through the soft strands. "Good?" he asked softly.

Parvati completely relaxed into his side as he ran his fingers through her hair, letting her hand run across his chest gently before draping it over him as she let out a deep sigh. "Mhm, perfect," She said quietly in response to his question, for it was rather nice and relaxing to feel his fingers running through her hair. It was something that had always relaxed her since she was a little girl and she had a feeling it would always be something that relaxed her.

"Okay," he replied, a smile on his face before quieting. He figured the silence was one that was welcomed for him talking and droning on probably wasn't welcomed at the moment. Sometimes the quiet was something that was very much so welcomed and he figured now was one of those times. He continued to run his hands through her hair, figuring that he would continue to do so until either she had enough or ended up falling asleep from the calming action.

Parvati continued to stay nuzzled into James' side, her eyes closing as she just let him run his fingers through her hair. "I love you so much," She murmured out softly as she kept her eyes closed and stayed close to him, really just focusing on how nice and relaxing it felt to be so close to James and to have his fingers running through her hair. She tried to just clear her mind from everything that was going on and just focusing on those two things at the moment and for the first time today, she was able to just not think about anything, while she was awake at least.

James smiled softly, watching her a for a moment before realizing that she might think it's creepy of him to just lay there and watch her. "I love you, too," he replied, knowing that that would never change, no matter what the two of them went through. He continued to run his hand through her hair, soon closing his eyes as he relaxed as well. Though they were going through a tough time, he felt oddly at peace and figured it was because Parv was at his side.

Parvati couldn't help but let a small smile creep across her lips as he said he loved her too, sure had told her that already and she knew it but it it still made her incredibly to hear it every single time. She continued to lay there as she let him run his fingers through her hair and she eventually drifted off into a nice, relaxing sleep. Nev thinks this day should end now and James should fall asleep too for the night because this day has been going on forever.

Dom thinks that that is a very good idea as well. After all, this day has been going on for how many months now? Oops. Sorry.
