Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati did sleep quite a bit, but it wasn’t a very good nights sleep. Sure she had slept a lot but that also involved a lot of waking up almost every hour for a few minutes and it was extremely frustrating. She saw the sun rising in the morning and figured it must be about five or six in the morning if the sun was just starting to rise. She opened her eyes and looked over at James, smiling slightly as she ran her finger gently down his cheek, careful not to wake him as she did so. She sat up after on the bed and leaned over to press a gentle kiss to his cheek bone before she stood up off of the bed carefully. She was careful as she moved out of his arms not to wake him.
She looked back at James one more time before she walked quietly out of their room, gently closing the door behind her so she wouldn’t wake James. She jumped slightly when she noticed that Joe had already woken up and was sitting in one of the two chairs by the table in their small, yet cozy living room, eating bread. “Hello, Joe.” She said with a smile.

“Good Morning.” He greeted her with a small smile. “Feel free to join me and share my bread.” He offered her, gesturing to the chair and then the bread on the table in front of him, hoping that she would join him for a nice little breakfast.

Parvati bit her lip slightly and then smiled at him and sat down in the chair that was next to him. “Thank thee.” She said with a smile as she broke a piece of bread off from the loaf and ate it. “Thy’s bread is delicious.” She said, slightly nervous to talk very much since James was not with her. She trusted Joe though and she knew he wouldn’t turn her in if he suspected anything.

“Thank you,” Joe said as he took a bite. “I actually make it myself. It’s all I eat because we can not afford to buy much other food other than for special holidays. Fruit and vegetables are considered luxury meals for us. I do enjoy it though.” He told her as he took a bite of the bread.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati nodded as he explained to her how they didn’t get to eat fruits and vegetables all the time. “That’s rough.” She said, leaning back in the chair she had sat in. “The bread is delicious but I couldn’t eat it all the time, no way.” She said, completely forgetting to speak in the accent they used in this time era.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe gave her a slightly quizzical look as she spoke, she spoke so different than everyone else. She must be from some other country, he decided and then finished off the last piece of his bread and drank his water before standing up from his chair. “Parvati, it was enjoyable sharing breakfast with thee, but I must be off to care for the horses because the time to work in the field comes.” He told her, preparing to leave for the ranch.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati sat up in her chair when he mentioned going to take care of the horses. “Horses?” She asked curiously. “I love horses, I have never seen one in real life but I do love them.” She told him. “There are so pretty and soft looking.” She said, nodding enthusiastically.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe gave her a small smile and laughed. She seemed so excited just about horses. He never saw what was so great in them really. Sure they were extremely useful and for the most part kind but caring for them had just become a part of everyday life and he didn’t think much of it anymore. It was just what he did. “If thy wants to join me, it is welcome. I can teach thee how to care for one’s horse.” He offered her, willing to teach her how to take care of the horses.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati smiled widely as he asked if she wanted to join him and jumped up. “Yes! I would love to! Oh my god! It would be like so much fun!” She said as she stepped over to him. She completely forgot that she was supposed to be using her fake accent though Joe never seemed to comment or really notice it.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe smiled and stepped towards Parvati as he gently placed his hand on her upper back, leading her towards the door before he removed his hand and stepped out the door behind her. He walked a few paces ahead of her so she would know where to go and walked a ways down the main street before turning off on a side street that led to nothing but the Ranch.
“Here is the ranch,” He told her as they really got to it. He walked over towards the small stable that housed about 6 horses and turned to her. “We must brush and clean them first, then feed them and maybe if thee would like thee could ride one, perhaps?” He suggested.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati followed behind Joe as they walked down the main street. She let her thoughts drift to James as they walked down the street and she really hoped he wouldn’t wake up before she got back. She didn’t want him to worry after all. They would probably be gone for what? An hour tops? That wouldn’t be too bad. He would hopefully stay asleep the entire time and then she would be able to go back and just lay down with him and he would never even know she was gone.
“O.M.G.” She said as she walked into the stable. “They are all so pretty and soft.” She said and turned to him, her eyes lighting up as he mentioned her riding one. “Really? I have always wanted to ride a horse! Oh my god! That would be so exciting and cool and stuff! Yes! I want to.” She told him, nodding enthusiastically.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe was glad that she seemed to eager to ride the horses and decided it would be best to get them cleaned and fed fast so that she could hop on one. He got out the cleaning supplies and taught her the correct ways to brush and clean them and he worked on one horse while she worked on another. He was surprised when they got done in one hour rather than in two. It was a lot faster when he had help with the horses.
Once they finished up cleaning them he showed Parvati how much food to give each horse and was glad to see she was happy to help him give them all their food. He was again surprised at how fast he finished the feeding. Parvati was such a good helper and he was finishing up all his jobs in half the time and now he was ready to help her ride just a little bit. “Is thee ready to ride now? I thought it would be best to learn on this one.” he said, pointing to one of the smaller, black horses.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati really was having a lot of fun as she cleaned and fed all of the horses and she realized that she really would not mind having a horse one day in the future. Though she figured it probably wouldn’t happen since James would have to take care of it all the time when she was at cheer and she really didn’t want to get a horse and them but all the responsibility on him.
One they were done taking care of the horses and nodded and smiled widely at him. “Oh my gosh! Yes I am!” She said, practically bouncing up and down from excitement.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe couldn’t help but laugh at how excited Parvati seemed to get just from riding a horse. He helped her mount the horse, just lifting her up by her leg so she could sit in the saddle. It took her a while to get used to sitting in the saddle with both of her legs on one side of the horse but she got used to it eventually and then Joe started walking the horse. He laughed as Parvati seemed so excited and after she was doing good he let her take the reigns, she immediately got nervous and spooked the horse. The horse didn’t take off running though and instead just jumped, which sent Parvati flying to the ground.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati fell from the horse and used her hands to break the fall, unfortunately that was not her best idea and her face slammed into her hand, making it so she practically punched herself in the face. She immediately felt tears come to her eyes as her one eye started to swell, she was slowly losing the ability to keep it open too. “Ow ow ow ow ow,” She said, gasping slightly as she held her hand up to her eye. “It hurts,” She gasped out.

Re: The Middle Ages
Joe did everything he could to catch Parvati but she was already on the ground by the time he got close to her again. He helped her up and looked at her eye quickly before calling over another stable worker to help take the horse away. “Parvati,” He said softly. “Come with me, thee must have ice for thee’s eye.” He said, leading her out of the barn and behind a house where there was some snow. He ripped a piece of his shirt off and wrapped it around a large chunk of snow before handing it to her. “Thee knows the way to the house?” He asked. “Go back now and rest. There is no need for it to get worse.”

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati was glad for Joe’s help and was really thankful that they had met him for she had just learned so much from him. She walked back to the house, holding the snow up to her eye before she froze at the door. What was she supposed to tell James? She had left for about 4 hours and she hadn’t even told him, and now she was coming back with a soon to be black eye. Unless it was already bruised. So I will just leave my last post like this so Dom can post James reacting to her being gone when he woke up because I am assuming he wouldn't just sleep in another four hours but you know if he does you can say that to or whatever.

Re: The Middle Ages
WELL THIS WAS QUITE THE SCENE TO READ O.O James is a little distraught in my head after reading it.
After having slept through the night in a rather peaceful slumber, only waking a couple times in a slight worry to check on Parvati, James awoke to see that the sun had already risen. Blinking his eyes a few times, he then rubbed them and noticed an empty bed. Frowning, he wasn't sure what to make of where Parvati had gone but figured she must just be out in the main room and didn't want to wake him. He stood up from the bed, put everything on, then opened the bedroom door to go out to the main room. He frowned again when Parvati wasn't there and decided to glance outside to see if maybe she was out there. No luck. He went back to the bedroom and grabbed his wand which he kept underneath the bed when they slept, just in case Joe were to enter and question why there was a stick lying around, and began to pace the room. She was probably just down at the field, that was the sensible solution. But why would she be there? Why would she be working without him? Figuring that pacing wasn't going to do any good, he decided to search the main parts of the town for her. Leaving the bedroom, he went to open the main door but froze when it did open to reveal Parv. "Oh thank Merlin," he breathed, sagging against the door frame for a second and then taking her in his arms. "I thought maybe something had happened to you," he said, pulling back from the hug but keeping his hands lightly on her arms. "What...what happened. Something clearly did happen," he said slowly, looking at her darkening eye.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati was just about to open the door when James opened it. "Oh," She said quietly before wrapping her free arm around him and letting the little cloth filled with the cold snow be removed from her eye as she wrapped her second arm around James. "Sorry, I should have told you I was leaving," She said, still speaking rather softly as she stepped away from him, staying relatively close but only making contact because of his hands on her arms. She lifted the little cloth of snow to her eye again, cringing slightly as she pressed it against her eye. "I just, I fell, and I hit myself in the face." Wow. That sounded intelligent, she thought, figuring James wouldn't believe her with the way she worded it even though it was the truth.

Re: The Middle Ages
"It's all right, I just...a note at the very least would have been nice," he said, glad that the worst that could have happened didn't. Or at least, he hoped so. For all he knew, she could have ran into those guys that were in the forest or even guys just as bad as those ones. "You...fell," he said slowly, as if trying to process what she said. "Parv, that's seriously not an easy thing to accomplish... only bruising your eye when you fall. Are you sure it wasn't something else? You can tell me," he said.

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati nodded as he said a note would have been nice and she did feel rather bad now that she didn't leave him a note and that he was worried. She really didn't think she would be gone as long as she was so she didn't think a note was important. "I did, I fell," She told him, nodding her head a few times. "I fell and I tried to break my fall with my hands but then my eye like hit my fist. I promise, that's what happened." She tried to keep her tone as serious as she could as told him because she really did want him to believe that she was telling the truth.

Re: The Middle Ages
James looked at her and was quiet for a moment as if trying to read if she was lying. "Well...okay. You fell. But I mean, why were you outside? Did you slip on something and fall? Why did you decide to just get up and go outside for a walk? I mean, it seems random and it's really not that safe to go on your own."

Re: The Middle Ages
Parvati just shook her head, really trying to keep herself from breaking down in front of James. She knew he wasn't trying to upset her at all but just from all the questions he was asking her it was really making her feel like an idiot and like she wasn't thinking at all. She continued to hold the little cloth filled with snow to her eye as she just looked over at him and frowned. "I'm sorry," She said, again. "I was with Joe," She said quietly. "He asked me if I wanted to go to see the horses with him and help him take care of them and stuff so I went and he said I could ride one but it was hard and the horse got scared of something and I fell off and hit myself in the face." She really did feel like an idiot for falling off of a horse and she was trying to avoid the subject but she figured it was best to just tell James what happened so he wasn't freaking out at all about what happened.

Re: The Middle Ages
James listened to her story, relieved when she let him know what happened. He had begun to worry that she had been attacked or something and was glad that she was, at the very least, with Joe. Joe seemed like an okay guy that could definitely protect Parvati if something bad were to happen. He let out a soft sigh and gently lead her into the house and then into the bedroom they were staying in. "Well I'm glad you were with him and not just out there alone," he said softly, leading her to sit on the bed. "Let me see your eye though. I could do some spells for some ice if it looks like it's going to swell," he said, figuring she would much appreciate not having a swollen eye.

Parvati nodded and followed him into the house and into the room, she sat down onto the bed once they were in their room and pulled the little cloth filled with snow down from her eye. She gently lifted her free hand to her eye, gently pressing a couple fingers against her eye as she gasped slightly, not expecting it to hurt so much. She looked up at him so he could check out her eye after she realized she couldn't look at her own eye by herself. "Does it look bad?" She asked him. "Because it hurts a lot."
