The Middle Ages - Page 19 Empty Re: The Middle Ages

James came to the realization after Parvati asked how it looked that there was no way for her to really see her eye. It wasn't like there were mirrors in this weird time period that they were in. "It looks...well..." he began before breaking off. "Not the best. It doesn't look the best," he admitted as he looked at her eye which seemed to be swelling a bit after all. "I'll try and think of how to get some ice," he said, frowning for a moment as he thought about what he could do. He took the cloth from her hand and wet it with his wand....the appropriate wand Nev....and then did a freezing charm on it. "This'll probably feel cold but should help," he told her.

Parvati frowned as he said it didn't look the best. Why couldn't she have just been a normal person who knows how to ride a horse? Why did she have to be so freaking stupid and fall off over such a little thing? She was seriously starting to wonder if she could succeed with anything she did other than cheering and sex. Youreadmymindtherelolwands. "Okay," She said with a small nod as he said it would feel cold and she took it from his hand, slowly raising it to her eye as she pressed it against her eye gently before gasping and pulling it away quickly. "I can't. I can't, James. It's too cold," She told him, holding it out for him to take it from her because there was no way she could hold that to her eye.

Dom knew that Nev would take that line dirty. She just knew. James winced when she held it up to her face and pulled it away, for he could easily imagine how cold it was. "Right...but...I don't know how to make it warmer. It'll melt," he said, which is a rather stupid thing to say because no shit Sherlock, it'll melt if you warm it up. "Err," he glanced around the room and then spotted a cloth on the small table. "Here, let's try this," he said, standing up and grabbing the cloth. He then brought it over to her and wrapped the frozen cloth in it and handed it back to her. "This should be better," he nodded.

Parvati just stared at him as he held it out to her but she didn't take it. She just shook her head slowly as he held it out to her. "I can't," She said quietly as she looked up at him. "It's too cold I can't do it." Parvati was being a little bit of a wimp today. She was just not in the mood to hold a freezing cloth to her eye again and she knew if she tried again she would end up pulling it away. She knew she was probably being annoying and frustrating James but she couldn't help it. It was just one of those days.

"Parvati," James said softly. "You have three options here. One, you take the cloth and hold it to your eye. Two, I take it and hold it to your eye. Three, you don't put it on an your eyes just swells on up and then you won't be able to see out of it because it'll be so big that your vision is all blocked and then people will stare at you and think something is wrong with you and I mean, I'll still love you no matter what...but people will definitely stare at you and judge you and think things about you when they really shouldn't. So it's up to you," he told her.

Parvati looked up at him and pouted slightly at his words, she really didn't want people talking about her but she had a feeling she wasn't going to be able to hold it up to her eye on her own, not for long at least. "Can I choose option two?" She asked him quietly, wondering if he really meant he would hold it up to her eye or if it was one of those things when the person gave you three options but there was really only one option out there that was allowed.

James was rather surprised when she chose option two, for he really hadn't seen that one coming. "Well, if you're sure. Just don't go squirming and whatnot because I don't want to accidentally hit your eye and make it worse or something," he told her seriously, taking the frozen cloth from her hand and holding it up towards her face. "Just... let me know if it gets really unbearable," he said softly, placing the cloth gently over her eye and waiting for her to push it away.

Parvati nodded as he said not to squirm or anything like that and she took a deep breath as she clothes her eyes. At his next words she let out a quiet "Okay" before she moved back away from him before he could put the cloth to her eye. "Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait," She said quietly quickly as she held her hand out in front of her so he couldn't press the cloth to her eye yet. "Will you hold my hand while you do it?" She asked him, holding her hand out for him to take with his free hand. Sure she may have seemed like a baby right now but everyone has their moments.

James stared at her for a moment when she told him to wait and then asked to hold his hand. He figured that it was a simple request and definitely one that he had no problem with doing. "Yeah, alright," he said, unable to resist from smiling. "Now are you ready?" he asked her, not wanting to just put the cloth on without warning. "Want me to count down or something?"

Parvati was glad that he was okay with holding her hand and closed her eyes and nodded as he asked if she was ready. "Yes," She said quietly, her grip tightening on his hand slightly. "No, because then I'll pull away before you get to zero, just do it." She figured that was the best way, for him to take her by surprise. She knew she always chickened out with things like this when there was a countdown, which was why she never liked countdowns unless the person trolled her and went at like 2 when counting to 3 or something along those lines.

James nodded, understanding what she meant and figured that he probably would have actually done the same. He waited a second and then put the ice pack gently to her eye again. "Just relax," he told her, staying quiet for a moment before deciding getting her mind off of the ice was the best idea. "Oh! How about...I tell you a story," he suggested. "I mean, if I talk for a bit about something, you won't really be thinking about the cold or anything."

Parvati squeezed his hand tightly as he placed the ice pack on her eye and then let out a deep breath, the first few seconds were always the hardest. She loosened her grip after a moment, continuing to occasionally take deep breaths. "Right, yeah, a story sounds nice," She said quietly with a small smile. "Why don't you sit down too?" She suggested, figuring if they were both sitting on the bed it would be a lot more comfortable.

James was careful with the cloth, for he didn't want to push it too hard in to the bruise where it became painful. He kept it lightly on the bruise as he thought of what kind of story he could possibly tell her. "Oh! Right," he said, moving so that he wasn't just sitting and sat down next to her. "Hmm, what kind of story do you want? I mean, do you want some fictional and ridiculous story or something that actually happened?"

Parvati gave him a soft smile as he sat down, keeping his hand in hers tightly. "Ummm, something that actually happened," She said, smiling still as she looked at him with her one eye that the cloth wasn't covering. She was still wondering how she was going to bring up that she could do the spell now to see if she was pregnant. She had tried it easier but she just couldn't do it by herself. She was way too nervous and she had a feeling that just having James there would give her the ability to do the charm.

"Right, something that actually happened," James repeated, thinking to himself for a moment about what he could talk about. He figured that the best thing to talk about was an amusing story, for trying to get her to smile and be happy was definitely a good thing. "Well, do you want a childhood story or something a bit more recent? I mean, there are quite a few options here," he smiled.

Parvati pursed her lips for a moment as she tried to think of what she wanted. If it was more recent then she could more easily imagine it actually happened. "Okay, tell me something more recent but something that will also amuse me. Something funny," She said with a small smile and a nod. "Yeah, something funny." She figured James had to have a funny story to tell that was recent. He was a pretty good prankster after all.

"Alright...recent, but funny." He thought quietly for a moment before smiling softly. "I could tell you about this whole big ordeal that happened because of Lily and her snooping. Let's just say it involves some pretty good pay back on my part," he grinned. "Well, I guess you could say it all started when my nosy sister decided to go into my bedroom at home a year ago and managed to somehow find...well...these err, these magazines that I had hidden under the bed," he said, giving Parvati a slightly sheepish look because of what kind of magazines they were. "My sister then decided then instead of just taking the mickey out of me for them, she'd go on and show them to my mum," he said with a slight grimace.

Parvati bit down on her bottom lip when he said his sister found his...magazines under his bed...and she had a feeling she knew exactly what kind of magazines they were. Her eyes widened though when he said his sister showed them to his mum. "Oh my god! That's horrible!" She said, though she couldn't help but let a grin sweep across her face and let out a light chuckle. "Keep going, what did your mum do?" She asked quickly, really eager to hear what his mum did. She probably would have died if she had been in James' position. That was probably a good thing that she didn't keep magazines like that anywhere in her room. The worst her mom would find in her room were Witches Cosmopolitan, which her mom knew she read.

"Well, my sister must have shown my mum the magazines when I wasn't home for I honestly had no idea that she they knew. It wasn't until right after breakfast when my whole family was still in the kitchen that it got brought up. Mum said she was going to the store and asked if we needed anything. Now in all honestly, I had a cold the week before so I was out of tissues in my room. So, I asked mum to pick me up some tissues. Lils found that to be funny and interjected that maybe mum should also pick me up a new mag. I was mortified and my mum had shot me a look that communicated that she knew all about what had been under my bed. She didn't mention it though, thank Merlin. There's only so much awkward I can talk. My dad was pretty quiet about the whole thing, but afterward mentioned how I should have hidden the magazines better so that perfect and innocent Lily won't find things like that. Perfect and innocent my arse," he muttered, shaking his head.

Parvati was rather amused with his story and couldn't help but full on laugh when he said that his sister suggested her mom get him a new magazine. She finally controlled her laughter after a moment and grinned widely at him. "Well, I see that the whole pranking thing kind of runs in your family," She said, a wide grin still gracing her lips. "So did you ever like get her back? Did you get some payback? Find something dirty in her room? Anything?" She asked curiously and then couldn't help but add one more question. "Do you still keep magazines hidden under your bed? Like those magazines?" If he said yes she was definitely going to tell him the toss them all and if he refused one bit she would just have to offer to take some pictures for him. Ones that he would have to hide a lot better than he hid those magazines.

"Well of course I was going to get payback! I couldn't just let my little sister get away with snooping in my room. Though, ew, definitely would never search for anything dirty in her room," he shuddered. To him his sister was untouched and virginal and no slimy git would ever touch her. "After I found out she had been in my room, I started to plot payback. I didn't want to do anything that could get me in serious trouble, so instead I just put a garden snake in her bed. To me, that wasn't a big deal. Apparently to her it was and she claims that she is traumatized. Bit overdramatic, though she is fifteen and that's the age where everyone is overdramatic with the smallest things," he shrugged.

Parvati's eyes widened as he said he put a garden snake in her bed. "YOU WHAT?!" She asked, her one eye widening. "Why would you ever think that would be funny?! Oh my god, James! Honestly, if you put a snake in my bed I would murder you. Right there on the spot I would strangle you," She told him very seriously. Parvati is just not a fan of snakes, except for James' snake in his pants. She very much likes that one if you know what I mean. She shuddered slightly just at the thought of having a snake in her bed, she was also kind of wondering why James avoided her question about if he still had the magazines under his bed.

"Don't worry! I'd never put a snake in your bed, promise," he told her seriously. "Honestly, it was just a little harmless garden snake. It's not like she's traumatized or anything. I mean, she screamed quite loud when she first found it in her bed, but then she thought he was rather cute. Ended up naming him and everything," he sighed. "I pretty much gave up after that because Lily is the type of person that handles pranking quite well and has no trouble with more revenge." AND OP. Dom was so tired she forgot to answer the question. "Oh, and about those sort of... magazines," he added, realizing he didn't answer her question from before. "I don't have them at school anymore. I mean, there are a few at home but only because I haven't cleaned out my room yet. Once I am out of school and have a place of my own and have to get rid of my stuff, those are definitely going in the trash."

"Phew, good," She said with a small smile as he said he wouldn't put a snake in her bed. She really didn't want to have to kill him so it was definitely a good thing that he wasn't planning to put one in her bed. "Oh," She said in response to his magazines. "Oh well good," She said with a light laugh. "Because I'd have to take care of that if you still had them," She told him with a small wink even though he can only see one eye so it probably just looked like she was blinking. Oops. "Umm, and I meant to tell you," She started, biting her lip lightly before continuing. "I can um, I can do the charm to do the test now," She said, hoping he would get what she was talking about. "It's been 24 hours and stuff so I can do it, and yeah," She rambled, still feeling rather nervous to do the charm.

"Well no worries, I don't have them anymore," he replied with a small smile. His smile froze and his expression become quite serious. This was big, for the two of them had been worrying about it and it would definitely be good to have a final answer. Still, it made him unbelievably nervous about what they were going to find out for it could be potentially life changing. "Right...the test....we should...that'd be...definitely good," he managed to get out. "Is there anything I have to do?"
