Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Rose walked into the Quidditch store with a ring from the little bell on the door. The smell of broom polish greeted her and she breathed it in happily. She was glad that Hogwarts was finally starting again. It had been a long and tedious summer and she had run out of books to read weeks ago. Walking purposefully towards the brooms she examined the newest one closely, hoping to look like she could actually buy it. Her father would never let her, she knew, as long as she had a working broom of her own.

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
While his parents were off helping Lils get fitted for her new robes, Al went off to look in the Quidditch shop. He had tried out for the team again last year, and again he ended up getting the chaser position as usual. His broom was fine, as was his Quiddich gear, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a little look around. He spotted Rose almost immediately- the red hair really stood out. "How's it going, Rose petal?" he greeted as he walked up behind her, smiling cheekily as he walked around to the front of his cousin and leaned back against the wall. "Good summer?"

"Al," Rose squealed, wrapping her arms around him to pull him into a tight hug. She hadn't seen him all summer due to her vacation to Australia to see her maternal grandparents. "I've been great; Australia was wonderful." She stepped out of their embrace and regarded her cousin carefully. He looked the same as ever: as if he didn't care about whatever she said. It might have annoyed her if she knew it wasn't true. "How was your summer?" She asked him, holding her exciting news in until he'd has his chance to talk.

Al laughed as he was forced into a hug, and eventually brought his arms up to hug Rose back. Even he had to admit it was weird not seeing her all summer, considering he was used to having her around all the time when she wasn't off visiting relatives. "Was it? I can imagine. I'm still saving up for my trip to Italy, though I don't plan on going until after I graduate so I still have another two years to prepare myself. My summer was alright," he shrugged. "I hung out with Melanie, practiced my Italian..." He wasn't fluent yet, but he was working on it. There was just something about Italy that had always drawn him in. "Oh, and I came out to my parents!" he announced proudly with a dramatic hand gesture as he took a mock bow. Rose had been the first one he had come out to at the end of 5th year, Melanie too, and he had been waiting for just the right time to drop the hint to his parents and family. "Suppose it's only a matter of time before the whole school knows."

"So you're sticking to the plan, then? Move to Italy, fall in love with a handsome Italian man and have him whisper to you in that lovely language?" Rose joked, "Or do you want to be the one doing the whispering?" She laughed, glad to be back to their normal routine of poking fun at each other. "You came out to your parents!" Rose repeated incredulously, "What did they say? They handled it good, didn't they? I knew they would!" She had been hoping he would come out to his parents since he first told her about the whole thing. It was a relief for it to be all done and over with. "Don't worry about the whole school knowing, they should know and love you for who you are anyways." She grinned at the cheesiness, "And if anyone give you trouble, I won't hesitate to curse them. Anyways, want to hear my good news?" She asked, sticking her hand into her purse and rooting around in it for a minute. Finding what she was looking for, she held it up for him to see. "I got Quidditch Captain!" Sure enough, she was holding the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain badge which appeared shiny from multiple polishes. "Slytherin better watch out this year!"

"Oh, yes!" he replied dramatically, smiling as he leaned against Rose's shoulder, glancing upwards as if he was picturing his Italian fantasy happening. "He'll be doing the whispering, though, just to be clear. With his accent and everything? Oh, it's going to be absolutely perfect," he sighed dreamily, before a sly smirk took over his expression as he let out an amused laugh. "But yes, I did! And...they took it well. They were a bit shocked. Guess those few months I spent dating Emma was more convincing than I thought," he chuckled, referring back to the end of fourth year before he had realized he was gay, though he had his assumptions at the time. "Of course they'll love me! How could they not?" Al was aware that certain people really didn't like him for being the Potter kid in Slytherin, but he didn't really care about what they thought. "I'm sure you will, Rose. No one wants to mess with a Weasley, after all." His eyes lit up as she brought out the shiny badge, and he grinned as he clapped his hands together. "That's amazing! I knew you'd get it. The Claws would be crazy to not make you their captain. Though, it will be a shame when Slytherin still manages to kick your ass."

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
I'm getting from this that Al is in sixth year? If not, just yell at me and I'll change this.
"The Emma Days." Rose laughed at the memory. At that point her suspicion that her cousin was gay had grown, but hadn't wanted to mention it while he had a girlfriend. She wondered how Emma would take the news that Al had come out. Rose slipped the badge back into her bag and continued talking as if she hadn't heard Al talking about her house's defeat, "They would have been crazy not to make me their captain, wouldn't they? I've been the best chaser since it was just our family. And they know that I'm the only one who can steal the Quaffle from you." She was careful to keep her tone light and teasing. It was easy for her to get lost in the world of Quidditch and take the games too seriously, and she always tried to keep the game out of conversation with her friends from other houses. "So, are you excited for our sixth year together? I've heard that sixth year it the slack year between the OWLs and NEWTs, and I plan on making it very interesting." Her tone of voice when she said very let Al know that she wanted drama, drama, drama.

"Yes, let's not think about those, shall we?" he insisted with a slight eye roll as he thought of Emma. Really, he hadn't even been all that into her at all. She had been clingy and annoying, and Al had honestly only been with her to get people to shut up about the gay jokes. He had no problems with being gay, but when you're still trying to figure things out yourself it makes it hard when everyone is taunting you about it. Imagine trying to come out after everyone calls you gay behind your back and all you want to do is prove them wrong. It's not easy. "Oh? We'll see about that, Weasley," he teased back, bumping his hip into Rose's. "What's to say I haven't been practicing while you were off in Australia?" Lies. He had spent most of his summer with his guitar. "I am! Finally, we don't need to worry about all those pointless exams." He tilted his head to the side and arched an eyebrow. "Interesting? Rose Weasley, what do you have up your sleeve?" he asked, clearly interested and amused with what his cousin was implying.

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Rose considered this, "That definitely would be a problem. I played maybe one game while I was in Australia. There was just too much tanning and boy watching to be done!" She pulled down the sleeve of her blue t-shirt, showing Al her bathing suit tan line. "If that's not impressive, I don't know what is. Unfortunately, there was a lot more boy watching then boy getting but it was still fun. You have to come with us next year, Albie. Think of all the surfers!" She grinned, imagining Al and herself admiring boys on a beach. Sounds like good times. "I'm not just going to sit and idly let the year pass by us, I can tell you that much. This year is going to be fun and I want to be fun right along side it." She said, lowering her voice. "Maybe I'll even get to be one of the lucky few that spike the drinks at the dances. Hopefully I'll be able to throw lots of Ravenclaw parties, too. Although I do prefer to party with the Slytherins. No one has a good time like a drunk Slytherin does."

"Oh, tanning and boy watching beat Quidditch any day. Well, boy watching maybe. Tanning, not so much. I like my skin to be cancer free, so you know," he shrugged. His eyes widened in awe at her tan line, and he clapped his hands together as he smiled up at Rose. "Damn, girl! Look at you go. Don't even worry about those boys. Australian guys clearly don't have taste." Except they do because Mya and Andrew are totally the most epic couple ever, but Al doesn't know that. "Looks like I might have to tag along after all, just to show you how to catch those boys instead of just looking." He laughed and shook his head, not at all surprised at how Rose hadn't changed a bit. "I don't doubt you'll make it a memorable year, though you are right about the Slytherin parties. Drinking, dancing, partying, and sex. What more could anyone ask for?"

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Rose laughed, imagining getting boy advice from Al on an Australian beach. She picturing a whole lesson plan and Al with a whistle as he teaches her proper posture. Hopefully it would be nothing like that. Grabbing Al's hand, Rose lead them through the store to the shelf with broom polish on it. Each bottle had a little slogan on it promising to get your broom as good or new. "What about you, Al? Got any big plans for this year?" She asked as she tried to decide which bottle to buy. She had to look her part as Quidditch captain, you know. Not gross old broom would cut it. "Maybe you'll find yourself a boyfriend. That would be nice. You'd have to introduce him to me, of course," She joked, "And get my approval. Wouldn't want my favorite cousin to be dating someone less than par." She turned to look at him conspiratorially, "Don't tell anyone I said you're my favorite. Wouldn't want people knowing I've been telling everyone that."

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Al chuckled as Rose led him through the store, his eyes occasionally wandering to the shelves as he glanced at different broom kits and polishes. "Nah, not really. Just going to try to avoid Malfoy as much as possible," he answered, before scoffing at the mention of him getting a boyfriend. "Rose, most of my friends are girls. Boys don't like me, remember?" He laughed and shook his head. "But of course I'll introduce you to my imaginary boyfriend. Wouldn't want to shag some guy and not have you approve first." He flashed a winning grin as she mentioned him being her favorite, and winked as he promised, "I won't tell anyone. I'd hate for them to off me just because I'm better."

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Rose laughed, "Avoiding Malfoy sounds like as good a plan as any. That guy serious gets on my nerves." Ah, the irony. "I'm sure boys don't like you. Maybe you just get along with girls better. Besides, it's probably a good thing. My parents are so strict about their no boy policy, at least you can have your girl friends in your room." She was still smiling at Al a kitten ran into the store and knocked over a stack of brooms. Looking away quickly, she gave her most casual I-don't-know-that-cat expression that was ruined when the kitten launched itself at her and hung onto her jeans with surprising strength. The shopkeeper gave her a dirty look before heading to fix the brooms. "Great. There goes my chance at a discount for coming in here all the time." She rolled her eyes, "Al, I think it's time you met Elijah. I bought him in Australia. Don't make fun of his accent." She pried the little kitten of her leg and handed him to her cousin.

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Al rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Just thinking about him is frustrating," he muttered under his breath. "I do get along with girls better. Boys are annoying and stupid," he laughed. Al's eyes widened as he noticed a cat running through the store, wondering if it belonged to the shop keeper or something until he noticed it clinging to Rose's jeans and he burst out laughing. "New kitten?" He smiled as he took the kitten from Rose, holding it close to his chest as he trailed his fingers over the top of his head. "Elijah, huh? Peeta is just going to love you," he teased sarcastically.

Re: Quality Quidditch Supplies
Rose looked back to the shelf with all the broom polish and picked the most professional looking one. Turning back to Al and her kitten she laughed, "You guys are so cute together! I hope Peeta doesn't bully him too much. Wouldn't want little Elijah to grow up with a taste for vengeance, now would we?" She walked the broom polish to the counter and payed for it, the shopkeeper keeping one eye on Elijah the whole time. "You buying anything, Al, or just coming in to bug me?" She joked, throwing the purchased product into her bag.

Al stuck his tongue out at the cute comment, then turned back to Elijah, smiling as he trailed his fingers over the top of his head. Rose was the only one who got to see the side of him that most people would label as 'affectionate.' "Whaat? Peeta is so not a bully." He followed Rose over to the counter, shrugging his shoulders at her question. Really, he had just come into the store to look around to see if there were any new broom models worth looking at. "Nah, I just came to bother you."

Rose laughed when Al stuck his tongue out. It was something that she always did, too, that most people would say was childish. "I'm just checking. Peeta always seems to be staring at me with his evil little eyes. Maybe it's just a side of him you don't know. C'mon, let's get out of here. The shopkeeper hates us." She said, right within said shopkeepers hearing range. "Want to go grab some ice cream or something?"
You can decide you actually want to continue this scene, or we could just say that they did.

"Pssh, please. Peeta's the sweetest thing to ever exist." Sort of. He just had a tendency of getting into trouble, but that was never his fault. Nope. "Ice cream sounds perfect," he agreed, glancing over at the shopkeeper before opening the door for Rose and letting her out first before making their way to the ice cream shop together.
