Didn't Rowling make it pretty clear they loved each other?
I thought it was so sad that even after all those years, Grindelwald still chose to die rather than betray Dumbledore to Voldemort.

I'm pretty sure she did, but i haven't read/seen all the interviews, so I think I may have missed that one.
Of course, after DH, and she revealed he was gay, there's not really any OTHER choice is there? I mean, unless he was creeping on Harry..but we won't go down that road. XD
