Pansy turned as Draco came in, the feather floating down and landing on her face. She picked it up and sat up again, turning toward him. "Hey. I don't know if you saw my note or not, I'd left it on your bed..." She realized she was mumbling and stopped. Maybe Blaise had told everyone by now, maybe Draco had already killed Blaise, or maybe he'd congratulated his friend... but that was ridiculous. Before all this mess, maybe Draco would have, back when he didn't care two shits for her. But as good of friends as Draco and Blaise might be, things were different now, and Pansy knew that anyone who touched her was on Draco's bad side, no matter who they were. At least, that's how it would have been if Blaise had taken advantage of her in some lessened state. But she was sober, aware, and fully conscious of her decision, and it was sickening. She didn't know how Draco would react to this, so she prepared for the worst.


[I'm going to say this is happening before Pansy yells at Blaise in her room, which is also happening now...]

[Muffy - Tam - Draco]

Draco looked up, surprised to see Pansy in the room. He had lost his train of thought and shook his head at the mention of a note, "No. No, I didn't get it. Whatever it is, I guess you can tell me now?"

[Sorry my replies aren't as detailed as they used to be. XD]

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"Oh. Well, Blaise came back this week. I don't know if you've seen him yet." Since it didn't seem like he had, she continued. "He's the same as ever, you know. With me anyway," she added, glancing at a corner where the floor and the wall met, her eyes widening a bit. She pulled her gaze back to Draco's eyes and wiped all expression from her face once again. "He's the same as before, back when I wished for that kind of attention from you, only to be getting it from Blaise all the time. I don't know if you noticed or not, since I wasn't even a blip on your radar back then unless you needed something, but Blaise was always trying to get with me." She paused, steadying her voice. "Though it was a little more subtle, back then. And unsuccessful." Pansy lifted her chin and took a breath. "This time was different." She didn't want to add the last bit, but she knew it was necessary. She readied herself for however he might react. He felt completely unpredictable right now, and she didn't like it. She'd probably screwed up whatever chances she'd had with Draco, and she didn't even have a reasonable excuse. She was bored, lonely, and he was a good talker. But it had been that way before... so why couldn't she just tell him no this time as well? What had been done couldn't be taken back now, and it was time to deal with it.


[It's cool. I totally wrote bits of this up yesterday when I was bored. ]

[Muffy - Tam - Draco]

Draco listened, thinking it was just an update on what he had missed. The rage surged through his body as she talked about Blaise. When she finished talking, he had already come to the conclusion that she had done something with his best friend. He shouldn't be so angry with her because of what he had done to her, but she hadn't been intoxicated. She had known what she was doing. He clenched his fists, "You. You did what with Blaise?!"

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

Pansy wouldn't let herself look away from him. She'd done this, and she had to tell him, and she would not allow herself to pretend it wasn't as bad as it was. She thought for a moment, trying to find a gentler way to say it. There wasn't one, at least, not one she could think of. "I slept with him." Her face stayed the same. Her eyes strayed away momentarily, ashamed, but she forced herself to look at him again. She wouldn't cry. Not again, not after what happened when she'd cried at home. She ignored the gash on her forearm, punishment for such an act in the presence of her father.

"You slept with my best friend?!" Draco stood up and his hands grasped the nape of his neck. This was too much to process. His head pounded and he was pissed, "You weren't drunk! You knew what you were doing! The entire fucking time, you fucked him knowing that you would end up hurting me. You bitch. You little bitch," He glared over at her and wanted to strangle her for looking so sad, "I told you how I felt. I was honest. I leave for some short time and you fuck me over. I never should have trusted you. You're a lying whore," He spat while he shook his head in disgust, "Keep that damn necklace. I don't want to think about you. Ever again," He then turned and left.

[Gotta go. Be on maybe later. And fuck Blaise up, certainly.]

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"You know how he is!" Pansy shouted back at him. She stood up from the couch, ignoring what he said about the necklace and not wanting to think about her. She started to shout after him as he left. "As if you've never hurt me before?! Some best friend, if the moment he gets back, he's trying to get with your supposed girlfriend!!" But he was gone. Pansy cried out in disgust, mostly at herself. She pelted whatever she could find within arms reach at the door as hard as she could: pillows, books, a vase of flowers. She fell back on the couch and held her arm, hating herself for being so stupid. His words had been worse than any spell he could have thrown at her. "Not that I was your girlfriend anyway."

Severus limps into the common room, grasping a couch for support, when he sees Pansy throwing a fit. "Pansy?"

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

Upon hearing her name, Pansy jumps up off the couch grabbing another pillow. She pulled her arm back to throw it as she turned around, but stopped when she saw that it was Severus. She let her hand fall to her side, dropping the pillow at her feet. She felt like she was about to cry, but her eyes were so unbelievably, dry, it was more frustrating than if she had actually been crying. She said nothing and continued to look at him, not bothering to hide her sadness anymore.

Severus is horrified at how distraught she looks, and gets to her as fast as he can without collapsing, which is extremely slowly, before hugging her. ""Pansy... please, when will you tell me what's going on? How can I help you, be a friend to you, when I don't even know why you're so upset?"

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

Pansy leaned gratefully into his arms, careful not to knock him over since she noticed he was a little unsteady on his feet. Hiding her face in his chest, she mumbles. "I've fucked up Sev. Everything that mattered to me, it's gone, and it's all my fault."

Severus held her as close as he could, but felt too light headed. "Can we please sit down?" he asked, collapsing onto the nearest couch. "What happened, Pansy... please, just tell me."

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

Pansy sat down on the couch, leaning over with her head in her hands. "Draco will probably never speak to me again. Not that he should after all this anyway. I don't deserve him." She looked up at Severus. "I slept with Blaise." Her eyes wandered quickly away, staring at the couch, her fingernails, the cut on her arm, the fabric of her jeans.

Severus gaped at her, in total shock. "But you, you love Draco--" he said before stopping short, realizing he wasn't helping by reinstating the obvious. "But... why?" he asked, perplexed.

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

As he said 'Draco' she turned away and bit down hard on her lip. She picked up the piece of paper that was sitting beside her, tearing at it and crumpling it fiercely. "Hell if I know. I wasn't even drunk. There's nothing I can blame but myself, and I don't even know why it happened. One minute I'm minding my own business in the common room, and the next Blaise is kissing me and carrying me up to his dorm." She shook her head. And we fucking did it on Draco's bed. "Merlin, on Draco's bed." She didn't notice she'd said it out loud.

Severus nearly fell off the couch at that. "You-- on Draco's bed?!" he exclaimed, mentally smacking himself for being an insensitive prick. "I... wow," he said, rendered speechless. "What did he say?"

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"Oh, just that he never should have trusted me, never wanted to think about me ever again. Called me a whore, a bitch." She kicked the coffee table in front of the couch over, staring hard at the fire. She got quiet, but her volume increased as she spoke. "As if this is the worst that's happened between us. As if Blaise wasn't to blame at all. He KNOWS how Blaise is, how he's always been with me. It's not like I cheated on him. It's not like he's never broken my stupid heart like this before. I finally make some gut action like he's always done, and it completely fucks my life over."

Severus stared at her, for the first time in his life, feeling pity for Pansy Parkinson. That wasn't right. Draco never should have said those things, never. He'd need to talk to him later, as soon as he could, to understand what was going on. "Merlin, Pansy, I don't know what to say, other than I am unbelievably sorry," he said, giving her a hug and stroking her back comfortingly. "He had no right to do that, no right to say those things to you," he said, unable to mask the anger in his voice. Draco might be his best friend, but it sickened him to know he could say those things to her.

[Pansy Parkinson-Malfoy]

"No. No, he had every right to say those things." She scowled into the fire. "The only problem is that he's not going to realize he's no different than I am. That we're practically the same person, give or take. It's why we fight so much. We're too alike." She wished desperately that she could cry, could even produce a single tear, but she got nothing. She gripped her arm again; it stung. "Maybe we were doomed from the start."

Severus didn't agree with her that he had the right to say those things, but didn't press on about it. Suddenly he noticed her injured arm. "How'd you get that?" he asked curiously.

[It's alright. I'm reading my book for scifi in between posts.]

Pansy looked at him and laughed bitterly. "That's what happens when daddy dearest finds his precious baby girl crying."
