He then lets the look quickly slide of his face when Regulus is clearly upset. "Sorry," he mumbles. "Listen, I'm not saying all this shit to piss you off or upset you. I just don't like you blaming me for that bump in the road. I...I don't want us to fight over this. Believe it or not, I don't...err, I don't mind your company. I mean, Viktor will always come first because he is my knitting buddy, but you were one of the few friends I have in Slytherin."

Regulus peeked at him from between his fingers. "I said already. It doesn't matter anymore. I don't care about that. Nothing matters," he said, looking and feeling more or less like a zombie. "But... er, thank you?" he said uneasily, not sure how to respond to that, as Scorpius probably really does hate him right now.

"I want things to return to as much normality as possible, which is difficult considering the current circumstances. Regulus removes his face from his hands and looked at Scorpius, confused. He had assumed that everyone who knew about him and Viktor would probably just hate him forever; he deserved it. But Scorpius was saying differently. "I... Yeah. So do I, I guess," he said, attempting and failing at a smile, and resorting to a somewhat grateful look.

"Yeah, okay....good," he says awkwardly then pulls his gaze away from Regulus, unsure of what to say. "Err, it's just, things will probably be a bit different now. I mean, I want us to keep...Viktor," he says a bit hesitinatly unsure if Reg was comfortable with him saying the name, "out of our conversations. I don't think it's right to talk about him while I am on such good terms with him. I... I want the friendships to be two different entities."

Regulus visibly winces at the name, and closes his eyes a moment before opening them again. "That's fine. It's better that way," he muttered, looking up at Scorpius, too depressed to note how amazingly sexy he is. "Just.. please... tell me... how is he?" he asked, his voice breaking.

Regulus looks almost angry again, but not at Scorpius, really. "You people all seem to be under some impression that I want to quit. I don't want to quit. I don't want to overcome anything. And I beg to differ, this 'path' I'm on is damn good, actually," he retorted, crossing his arms.

"I don't get who are becoming, but it's not the person I had met a few months ago. You wanna keep doing drugs? Fine. Don't be upset when you start losing everyone around you though."

Regulus looks like he might hit him- and he hasn't been violent in quite some time, now. He remembers how good it feels to punch someone. "I will never stop regretting that what I've done cost me Viktor. He was everything to me, and now he's gone, and I don't need your fucking reminder. And losing everyone around me? Too late for that, so you can suck it. And here I was thinking that for half a minute you actually did want to be my friend, really," he scoffed, but inside he's hurting even more. "I am who I am. That's not changing. And I'll be damned if I give up the only good thing in my life that I've got left."

Regulus is silent for a moment, thinking about how hard it was to reach that high, these days. Then he remembered his plans for later this week. "They aren't such a sin, Scorpius. They're not as bad as you people keeping making them out to be," he said stubbornly. "They might not be for you, but they sure as hell are for good for me. I know what's good for me."

How did everything manage to get fucked up so easily? He thinks back to his conversation with Viktor, about how Grindelwald would make the most sense as the drug supplier. His thoughts then turn to Faye. Had she even really talked to Grindelwald before that night? He had only really heard of her communicating with Reg, Penny, and Teddy. What if Regulus was the one to supply the drugs? The way that Reg talked about drugs and how happy they make a person feel, it wouldn't be surprising. He sighs, realizing he's not going to know the answer or figure it out on his own, then stands and leaves the common room.
