Regulus leaned forward, listening intently, and staring in awe. "Too much for Durmstrang? Tell me dammit, I can tell there's an awesome story behind this," he said, gazing at him intensely.

and sev, can I tell a whole story? Just because I'm super bored. You can make non-commital noises in my post breaks if you'd like:D]

"Well," he says, sitting back down on his bed, "I went to Durmstrang when I was 11, young, carefree, and innocent. My parents wanted to send me abroad, to Hogwarts--my mum went here, but I had snuck into my father's library every night, and read his books on the Dark Arts in the little moonlight that made it through that window. I refused, and I went off to school, didn't even say goodbye to my mum--we weren't on good terms that day, and that night, both my parents were murdered."

He half scowls, and pauses for a moment, deciding not to share the circumstances of said murder. "Well the man who did it, his little boy slept with me in my dormitory. The bed next to mine. Our first year, we had an enmity that soon grew out of control--but I had extraordinary talent, and he did not, and soon I was miles ahead of him, and of the rest of the people in our year--in my studies, at least, of the Dark Arts."

He stops for a moment, inclining his head towards Regulus to see if he was listening. This was a story that he didn't tell often, and he wondered how it would be received.

"Well," he says, shrugging, "by my second year, I had most of my professors in the palm of my hand. A group of friends that surrounded me everywhere I went. They didn't understand, though, what I understood. Nobody did, and even if they had, I wouldn't have confided in them. There was--there was just something born inside of me that year--some desire, maybe, to be better, to be greater than everybody else. And I knew, all of me knew, that it was the right thing to do.

Born was the idea of putting everyone in their rightful places in order to have a more peaceful society. Third year came, and with it a lust, yes, for people, but more so for power. My parents murders weren't forgotten, though. At the base of all my planning and research, one of the reasons for the books stolen from the library, for the hours I spent with parchment and a pen all alone in a room--was revenge--was stopping things like that if they were not for rightful reasons."

He lets out a sigh, and anger flits across his face. "I did...many things that would not be acceptable here. I experimented, sometimes with people. And one day, in my fifth year, I figured out one of Durmstrang's oldest secrets. Tal des Todes, we call it there--here, it means roughly 'the valley of death.' It was always one of the things that intrigued me most, when I read through those books, although it is little known in England. It is a place--kind of like the Greek underworld--where if you enter, you will never leave. Not death, perhaps, but there is no way out, unless you have...the key. It is like--a whole other world, but the only figures are shadows." He knew that he shouldn't be telling anybody this. It was risky to share this information with anyone, especially since he was still planning on using it in his master plan for conquering the world and such. "Well, I found the key. And I sent that girl down there." He shakes his head, staring off somewhere to the left of Regulus's shoulder. "And when they asked me where she'd gone, I told them I killed her, but they never knew...the extent of it. I just wanted to get out of there, after I'd gotten my revenge."

Regulus' jaw dropped, thoroughly impressed by his daring and his obvious intelligence. "And you did all this, before you were seventeen?!" he exclaimed in shock. Regulus was still gaping, but he returned to something Gellert had said. "You said putting people in their rightful places," he remarked. "Something we have in common, I believe," he said, gesturing to the vast amount of newspaper clippings above his bed, all concerning the rise of a new dark wizard.

He edged a little closer to Regulus, and lifted his shirt just the slightest bit, exposing a tattoo that said "For the Greater Good" just below his defined stomach muscles.

"All for the greater good," he says, softly, and then eyes the newspaper articles in dislike, craning his neck to read the headline of the one at the top after reading the words "He Who Must Not Be Named".

Regulus mentally berated himself again, as this was the second time today he'd noticed another guy's body. Though, to be fair, it was hard not to notice either of them. "For the greater good?" he asked, leaning forward to get a better look at the tattoo.

"I don't think," he says, tilting his head at Regulus, "that you should just...kill people. For that is far too mindless, far too harsh, and far too easy. Everything that I believe in is for," he glances down at his stomach, "The greater good." He shrugs, giving Regulus a slight smile.

Regulus is still gaping, and also staring a little at Gellert, until he realizes he is, and then he has an internal panic attack and looks away. "You... you're different," he said, pointing out the obvious.

"And you look like a five year old whose really embarrassed about peeing his pants or something." He gestures, smirking slightly, to Reg's panicky look, and then to his pants, "all good down there, Reg?" He smiled a little when he called him Reg. And not his trademark smirk, either. A real, genuine smile.

Regulus forced himself to stop gaping, turning pink, even more so at Gellert's smile. "Hah. Funny," he said sardonically.

"Thanks. I'm world renowned for my comedic abilities, you know. I was once in a theater production at Durmstrang. It was supposed to be a drama, but I managed to fall off the set--which was magically suspended in midair--and gained a fair few laughs." He plops back onto his bed, hooking the big toe on one foot with the big toe on the other.

Regulus laughed at the mental image. "Nice going. I've had my share of moments, I assure you," he said, chuckling at the memory of crashing head first earlier.

"I know," he says, rolling his eyes, and absentmindedly twiddling his cartilage piercing. "Seems ridiculous. Think he might've been an animagus or something, who preferred to stay in his animal form." He shrugged, "Me and Karkaroff weren't exactly buddy-buddy, so I never cared to ask."

"Animagi can't speak while in animal form," he remarked, looking thoughtful. "Maybe he's just a really cool lion." He stared at Gellert, with his tattoos and piercings- he looked like a total badass. And from what he was hearing, he was.

Regulus caught himself staring, AGAIN. What the fuck is wrong with me?!?! Staring at boys, not okay! NOT OKAY! Regulus yawned, glancing at the clock. "Well, I need sleep. But it was... interesting, listening to you," he said, curling up under his covers but looking at Gellert.
