One moment Fred was smiling, then a wave of sadness came down on him as he remembered what had happened with Dee. "Uh, yeah," he said in a tired sounding tone.

Nikki looked at him worriedly. She gave him an awkward one armed hug, but the rolls of duct tape got in the way. She frowned. "One thing Muggles say is, 'If duct tape is involved, you must be happy.'"

Fred smiled a tiny bit and arched an eye brow at her. "Really? That's not a very conventional. I suppose I should be happy then." He sighed. "I'm just having a difficult day."

Nikki nodded. "It is hard to be happy when you are having a bad day. Need to talk?" She fell backward, landing in the mud. Tucking one leg under her and stretching the other one out, she somehow managed to get both of them sitting comfortably. "Talk to me."

Fred, duct taped to Nikki, fell down also. "I'm actually not exactly sure what happened. But whatever it was, it was enough for Dee to break up with me over," he said.

Nikki nodded. "Perhaps." She wanted to help the baby, but considering she was attached to Fred, it didn't seem likely that would happen.

Fred looked at the ground, then back up and the baby [was now diamonds!...jk] was gone. "Well, it's not there now. It'll be fine," he said.

Nikki smiled cheerily at Fred. "The Case of the Mysterious Appearing and Disappearing baby. Who knows who he is, or how he got there." She jumped in the air, trying to strike a valiant pose, but instead, due to the duct tape, ending up falling to the ground with Fred on top of her. "Now, how do I duct tape our last arm to each other? Because I need my hand to tape?"

"Umph." Fred rolled so that he wasn't on top of her any more. "Um, I don't know what to do about your taping problem," he said. After a pause he added, "What's this for anyways? Just the sake of unconventionalism or what?"

Nikki widened her eyes. "You mean people don' just tape themselves to you everyday?" Her voice innocent, but teasing. "It totally wasn't a prank that James told me to do because I found an egg. That is just absurd." She giggled. "Can I say it is for the sake of unconventionality. FOR ANARCHY! FOR COMMUNISM!"

Fred laughed at her expression. "Oh, James," he muttered under his breath. "We'll just go with unconventionality," he chuckled. "It's rather colorful unconventionality."

Nikki laughed, "Nothing is as unconventional as it can be if it isn't colorful. Unless color is conventional? Is color conventional? Know what, this duct tape needs sparkles, don't you think?"
