Narcissa rested her chin in the palm of her hand. "I've been alright," she said thoughtfully. "But I must admit, I kind of have a guilty pleasure when it comes to picking out dress robes and gowns and such, so these past few weeks have been a lot of fun for me." she smiled. "And I don't think I've said it before, in which case I'm horribly sorry for, but you look nice!"

Severus laughed. "I don't need the false flattery, Cissa, you should know me better by now. You, on the other hand, really do look beautiful today," he said with a grin. He saw Pansy look at him and turn away, and figured she didn't want to speak to him.

Lily nodded politely at Annie, smiling and pushing some of her hair back over her shoulder. "That certainly would be entertaining. It's just the beginning though." She was feeling more comfortable, talking to someone new, the light making her dress glitter and her hair shine.

"Unfortunately..." Alice said making a face. "I kind of wish I had come a bit later... but I also like seeing the funny entrances! Like that one girl who looked like Cinderella, and another one flipped in! I wish I had thought of something flashy and clever, but..." she gestured with her hands. "And, Lily, you look really pretty! I love your dress! Can I ask where you got it?" she said all of this quickly, but not in a confusing manner.

"Thank you so much mate," he says to Joel and then glares at Roo. He picks his two drinks up from the table and goes to sit in another corner.

Fred grinned blushed. "Thanks. You look-" he was at a loss for words, which was a first, "stunning," he finished with a sigh. He noticed her glance go to the corsage in his hand. "Oh yeah. This is for you," he said, holding it up.

Nikki slipped it on. She smiled at how considerate a gesture it was. Leaning close to him, she whispered, "Wanna know a secret? I am a horrible dancer... but I still love dancing!"

Severus laughed. "I don't need the false flattery, Cissa, you should know me better by now. You, on the other hand, really do look beautiful today," he said with a grin. He saw Pansy look at him and turn away, and figured she didn't want to speak to him.

"Thank you very much." she smiled. "But, honestly!" she said, holding a hand up in an oath-like manner. "You do look nice! How're those cuts, buy the way?" she said, the last part a bit quieter.

The sleeves on his shirt were annoying him so he tore them off, the fabric ripping and looking all tattered. This pleased him, so he left the edges torn. Walking over to the drink table he chose some pumpkin juice because alcohol made him feel human and that just sucked royal hypogriff.

Fleur arched a brow, taking that as a challenge, "If you 'aven't noticed," She smirked, turning around and pressing her back against his chest. She turned her head to the side and whispered into his ear, "I'm a pretty good dancer myself. I theenk I'll keep up just fine," She was glad she had decided to leave her hair down as she began to move her hips to the music.

Antonin smirked and placed his hands on her waist as he moved to the music. "You're a great dancer, and that dress of yours is gorgeous."

[It's a good thing I'm a good one? At least, that's what my friends have said.]

"Oh, well, zank you. I'm supposed to meet someone 'ere, but 'e doesn't seem to be showing up," She smiled, "You're lucky," She moved her hips lower, arching her back slightly.

Lily glanced around and saw that Severus had walked in, with someone who was presumably Narcissa. She looks stunning. No wonder he asked her Suddenly she felt so much duller, in her sort-of-bright earth toned outfit, but kept her smile. She still felt pretty, especially in this lighting, and she wouldn't ruin Sev's fun. She kept her eyes on them for only a few moments before turning back to Alice and Annie.

"Yeah, those were crazy...I almost do, but i'm not one for stealing the spotlight...so I don't really mind. Everyone can't be stunning, or nobody would be." She shrugged, and grinned. "What, this? Just a muggle store. It was a gift, from my mum. She decided i'd worn the old one to enough parties...we didn't expect there to be so many here! It's wonderful! I adore your dress as well, it's so cute, and totally perfect for you! "

Severus sighed. "Better, obviously, I made it here without falling. I took some potions to kill the pain," he explained. "Still nasty, though. Don't know how much dancing I'll be able to do," he said with a laugh, knowing full well that Narcissa wasn't an idiot and knew the chances of him dancing were slim to begin with. "Suppose we'll have to find you another partner," he said with a teasing smile. "Anyone catch your eye yet?"

He smiled back at her and looked at Sirius. He turned to Dom "You saving a dance for me sometime tonight?"

"I never said it was love. I said its what we like to call love. I'm sure real love wouldn't suck quite so much." Pansy noticed Severus come in, and looked quickly away, embarrassment from last night coming back. "I think I've given up on love. I loved someone once, and look where it's got me: coming here alone, not a friend in sight. Pathetic, really." She laughed coldly, not wanting to think of Draco or Blaise.

He looked at her, raising his eyebrows, have amused, half appraising. "Love?" he asked, "for the 'idiotic boy'?" He smirked, slightly, and then continued, a more serious look on his face, "And yeah, love sucks. It does. I have no idea what the actual fuck they're talking about when the call love the greatest thing in the world, or whatever it is they say. It's shit, it really is. But that doesn't mean we should give up on it, and it doesn't mean we should sit in corners by ourselves, either. Having a broken heart doesn't mean that you're not allowed to have fun."

Scorpius takes a seat at another table and looks out at the crowd. A break in the crowd allows him to spot Faye dancing with another guy. He glares at the guy and at Faye for dancing with the guy. He sees the two dancing closing and feels himself cringe. After averting his gaze from the scene, he finishes off his firebeer and moves on to his second.
