Seamus dashed over to the meeting spot, praying that Lavender hadn't beaten him there. When he saw no sign of her, he wandered over to his destroyed and now dead tree and leaned casually against it, waiting patiently.

Lavender strolled down to the spot she was told to meet Seamus. She spotted him leaning against a rather dead looking tree. She smiled and waved, "Hey there!"

Seamus, now over what had happened the previous night, brightened and waved back, "Hi, Lavender!" He pulled out his wand, "I'm ready! What spells are we gonna work on?"

She too pulled out her wand. "You tell me. You're the one that needs help." She quick conjured up a blanket, then sat on the ground, facing him.

"Hmm, I should probably work on Engorgio and - don't laugh at me - Wingardium Leviosa." He frowned. "I never got that one down from our first year. I ended up blowing up the feather instead. But anyway, I have the motion down, I think," Seamus added, waving his wand. "Swish and flick. Is that right?"

She watched his movement closely. "Hmm, made flick a little more. Like this." She showed him the swish and flick movement, but couldn't help but show off a little. In her head she thought the words Wingardium Leviosa!, and a nearby stick floated in the air in front of her.

Seamus stared, aghast. "Whoa, ya didn't even say anything! I can only do that with a few spells." He silently cursed himself for not paying attention in class, then repeated the motion with more emphasis on his flick as Lavender had instructed. "There, I think that's right! Wingardium Leviosa!" he said, and the rock he had directed the spell to gave a shutter, then became still once more. "I so did the motion right that time! Maybe it's my wand. . ."

She giggled. "I can do most minor spells non verbally." She watched him again. "No, you did it right. You have to make sure your mind is fully concentrated on the task at hand. Picture in your mind, that rock floating through the air, then try again!" She smiled, encouraging him.

"Minor," Seamus grunted. "Oh, picture it! I never thought of it that way! 'Ere," he drew his wand through the air as needed, picturing the rock flying through the air, and cried, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Instantly, the rock flew off the ground and hovered in the air before Seamus released the spell, a smile plastered over his face. "I got it! 'Bout damn time!" He glanced proudly over at Lavender for approval.

She clapped excitedly. "You did it! I knew you could!! Do it again, with this one this time." She grabbed a much larger rock and set it in front of him, then looked at him expectantly.

"Easy!" Seamus scoffed, sure that he had the spell down now. "Wingardium Leviosa!" and the rock rose. Getting overzealous, he let the rock fall and pointed at a long log, repeating the spell. It too began to rise, wiggled slightly in the air, then fell to the ground with a loud thump. "Oh, oops, forgot to hold the spell. I got it though! The picturing thing is what got me, I think. Pretty good, eh?"

She watched, impressed. "Pretty good indeed. Shall we move on? You said you had trouble with Engorgio, right." Again she raised her wand and tought Engorgio! as she pointed her wand at a nearby stick. She smiled as it grew twice it's original size.

"Oh, now you're just showing off!" he fake whined. "I can get it sometimes, watch! Engorio!" The same rock he had levitated was now the size of a boulder, and Seamus climbed on it to pose dramatically. "Ay, and now let's see the what happens to those with cells!" Flicking his wand and muttering the incantation towards a leaf, it gave out a deafening BOOM! and left a charred spot where it once lay. "I don't know what's up with that. The same thing happened to a bug the other day, over on that tree," he gestured over to the blackened hump of wood.

She bursts ot laughing as he jumped on the rock. "Oh very good!" She continued to watch him as he tried the spell on a leaf, which blew up. She sighed "You aren't concentrating hard enough. It's the same with levitation. you need to focus all of your mind on it. Watch." She picked up an ant that was scurrying away. She pointed her wand at it and said, "Engorgio!" At once the ant grew to the size of a mouse.

"Eh, I thought I had done just that. Once more, then!" Seamus looked at a different leaf, one that still hung from its tree. "Engorio!" The leaf did grow, but instead of twice its size it was now quadruple, weighing down the branch before falling to the ground. "Is that good or bad?"

"It just means you were a little over enthusiastic. Not bad in the situation of a leaf. If it was an animal or critter, there could be a problem." She giggled. "But that was good! Now, try reducing it." She pointed her wand at the ant again. "Reducio!". The ant shrunk back to it's original size, and she set back on the ground.

"Now that one I've got!" Seamus sighed, relieved. "Reducio!" he directed at the huge leaf. It shrank to a size only a little smaller than its original. "A little rusty, though. But that's okay! No hard feelings from the leaf, I assume. Maybe from a person or such, but hopefully I won't have to use it on anyone."

She smiled, "Anything other first year spells you need help with? I could do this all day." She laughed as she teased him. Then she leaned back on the blanket and looked at him. "Or second year ones..."

Seamus pursed his lips at her teases, pretending to glare. "Very funny, now you're just being cute! I've got plenty of other simple spells down perfectly! Just watch." Taking this moment to show off, he summoned all kinds of objects, blasting and throwing them about, repairing them if they broke from the force. "And my finale! Orchideous!" A group of colorful flowers popped up around Lavender, and Seamus walked over to pick a few and handed them to her with a bow. "Milady! I hope you enjoyed this wonderful performance by yours truly!"

She clapped at his performance. Once he handed her the flowers she smirked, "Well, very impressive Mr. Finnigan." She stood and cleared her throat. "Now watch the real pro." She pointed at three seperate rocks and yelled, "Avifors!" instantly the rocks turned into fluttering little birds. The she twirled as she muttered. "Aqua Eructo!" Sending a steady stream of clear water to twirl around her. Then she muttered "Fera Verto!" changing all her flying birds into shining goblets.

Seamus raised an eyebrow as she performed for him, and he couldn't help but cast Impervius on himself and walk right into the entwining streams of water. "I see a flaw with your pretty display of water," he mentioned, motioning to the large gap he had created when the water bounced off of him. "Oh, wait, did I do that? I'm so sorry!" he said sarcatically, covering his mouth with his hand in mock surprise, chuckling.

She glared at him. "Are we all done showing off? I don't want you to be out performed by a girl. I have a feeling that would hurt your ego too much." She smiled sweetly at him, as though she said nothing wrong.

"I could out perform you! Just not with spells." Just then Seamus remembered the flying lessons and continued, "More like with a broom. But may I try just one more spell? Accio Nimbus 2001!" He reached out his hand and waited for a moment until the broom came into veiw and landed on his palm. "And that's how I roll. You may swoon, if you wish, just don't drool on me." He winked at Lavender, waving his broom in the air proudly.

She rolled her eyes. "No way Finnigan!" She shoved him playfully. "I haven't got a broom to practice on, by the way. I don't want to ruin yours." She started walking then, towards the pitch.
