Re: Shallows at the Lake
Marco watched as yet another walked down to the lake, and he was reminded why he seldom left the common room and the dungeons. "Hm, who knew Puffies could make use of sarcasm. Lowest form of wit, you know. But, I suppose all the wit went to Ravenclaw, as we discussed before." He barely paid attention to the new girl. He might have given her a chance, but if she was friends with this one, then it wasn't worth it. A simple nod, and that was all.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Dorcas sensed the sarcasm and sucked in her cheeks. Remember what you've been told. Hold back your anger. Her arms folded and she eyed the Montague character, nipping on her lower lip. His lack of acknowledgment infuriated her and she struggled, swallowing the words she desperately wanted to yell, "Hm. Funny, how your world is completely black and white. If all the wit in the world went to Ravenclaw, could you explain how Hermione Granger is a Gryffindor? Either you're suggesting the Sorting Hat had one of those forgetful moments, or you believe that all people possess one key personality trait. I'm leaning towards the second. Isn't the Slytherin house supposed to be mostly pureblood or half-blood? I was certain I heard otherwise this year....Pity, the Houses don't live up to the Montague's expectations."

Finally turning his attentions to the new girl, he could see that she was already twitching. He smirked, amused. "Funny how you think you can join in a conversation that is not your own. I'll humor you. Granger is smart, I'll give her that, but she's stupidly brave, which is a Gryffindor thing. Blood is important, yes, but cunning and a thirst for power is a key factor for Slytherins. You aren't looking at the whole picture. Some traits trump others." He ran a hand absentmindedly through his hair, thriving on the conflict.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Dorcas rolled her eyes, finding (oh ho, see what I did there?) this guy to be positively annoying. She glanced over at Alice, giving her the look that told her she needed to get out of there soon before she reacted violently. It wasn't her fault she had some temper issues, "Look, as great as it is that you think the other Houses are superior to Hufflepuff, I would like to point out something to you. Unlike the Slytherin house, ours isn't surrounded by hate or prejudice. Our House accepts others for what they truly are. You clearly seem to believe some personality traits are far greater than others. Well, bravery is greater than courage, in my opinion. Frankly, I find that thirsting for power as a trait for Slytherins is particularly wrong because you all generally FOLLOW a leader, not become one."

Alice resists the urge to give her friend a high five for that last comment, but holds back. This stupid prat didn't need to be angered any farther. "Dorcas, we should go. He's not worth our attention" she says quietly.

"That, my dear, is where you are wrong. Following a leader can bring one to power. The choice of which to follow becomes important, and when the time is right, you take it, but I don't know why I bother telling you this. Not that you'd be able to achieve something like that. You're a Puff, so either you lack the intelligence to do it without being caught, or the daring to attempt it, or the sense of power enough to create the opportunity." He laughed softly. "Right over your heads, I imagine. Poor, hardworking Hufflepuffs. Trying twice as hard for half the glory."

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Rolf leads Luna down to the shallows of the lake, not worrying about the dead conversation that is here because it's been over a month. "Is this good?" he asks glancing around at the really quiet spot. "Seems like a lot of people are inside in the castle. It is starting to get darker," he says while glancing at the setting sun. Aww, how romantic.

Luna smiles as she watches the sunset, turning towards Rolf to lightly kiss him on the lips. "It's perfect," she says quietly as she looks into his eyes. Aww. Lolf. <3
Re: Shallows at the Lake
He kisses her back softly, then smiles when she pulls away. "I'm glad," he murmurs softly. He looks at her, until a mischievous looks comes onto his face. Recalling their last visit to this spot, he lifts her in one quick move over his shoulder and carries her into the lake. He laughs as she protests, but continues to move quickly and further into the deepening water.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
"Rolf," she shrieked as he picked her up. She laughed as she struggled to get loose. "Put. Me. Down. Now. NOOO. DON'T PUT ME DOWN! NOT HERE. WAIT! I DIDN'T MEAN THAT. ROLF. AHHHHH!"
Re: Shallows at the Lake
"Oh, put you down?" he laughs ignoring her claims that that's not what she meant. He notes that the water is nearly at his waist, so throwing her could be dangerous because he doesn't want her to hit her head. That...would be a mood killer. So, he drops her carefully yet not too lightly into the water and laughs as she ends up getting completely drenched.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Luna glares up at Rolf from the water and splashes him with her hand before pouncing up out of the water and tackling Rolf. "How. Do. You. Like. It?"
Re: Shallows at the Lake
Her sudden pounce catches him off guard and he finds himself falling into the water in surprise as she tackles him. He sputters as comes up from the water, then gives Luna a playful glare. "Rather...refreshing," he says while shaking his head. "Though...a little chilly."

Re: Shallows at the Lake
"Psh. Refreshing? Oh really," she says with a smirk as she brings her hand up to dunk his head under.
Re: Shallows at the Lake
Rolf quickly blows through his nose as he is pushed under water. He struggles against her hand for a moment, then finds himself coming up and spitting water. "Not...quiet what I had in mind when I said refreshing," he says looking at her. He pushes himself up so that he is standing, then starts to slowly walk towards her. "I dunno," he says mischievously. "If I were you...I'd run right about now."

"Oh. I'm not afraid of you," she says with a smirk. "Bring. It. On." She gets up to her feet and splashes him again, laughing and giggling and such.
Re: Shallows at the Lake
He continues to move closer to her, splashing her with water as he moves forward. "Oh I will," he laughs. Once he reaches her, his arms lift her up with ease. "To drop you in the water, or not drop you in the water...that is the question," he grins.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
"Um. I think I can answer that one," she says with a smirk. She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him deeply, distracting him from whatever he planned on doing.
Re: Shallows at the Lake
He finds himself grinning as he kisses her, giving in for a moment and kissing her back passionately. When he recalls what he was originally going to do, he pulls his mouth from hers and says, "nu-uh, no distracting me love. I think...perhaps I should..." he says while dropping then catching her last second before she hits the water.

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Luna squeaks as he drops her, clinging to her panther as she almost hits the water. "No distracting? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you enjoyed that. A lot."
Re: Shallows at the Lake
Rolf lets out a light laugh while pulling her body closer to his. "Yes, I suppose I did," he says playfully. "Though when do I not enjoy kissing you?" he asks her. As if to prove his point, his lips land on hers and he kisses her, softly at first then more deeply. Pulling back he whispers, "I love you" then says, "why don't we head back to the castle, it's getting rather late."

Re: Shallows at the Lake
Luna smiled into the kiss, slowly putting her feet back in the water as he pulled away. "I love you too." She looks down at their clothes and laughs. "Maybe we should dry off first." She pulls out her wand, drying both of them off before taking his hand and walking back up to the castle with him.
Re: Shallows at the Lake
Percy came down to the lake to get a little fresh air while he was studying. he pulled a book out of his bag and began to read, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose every now and then.

Oliver ran down to the shallows of the lake looking for Percy. He had done much thinking since.. having sex with Lavender.. puke. He saw Percy once again reading a book, "Percy!"
