"Right bye," she smiled, rolling her eyes slightly as he left. She shook her head for a second, then stood up and decided to head off to the library to get some studying in.

This seems like as good a place as any. Molly is here, having a late dinner because she was busy stomping around and muttering rude phrases about Kingsley in Bulgarian while the bulk of the students were eating. So, she's all alone. Not because she's a loser with no friends, but because her friends had all eaten earlier and disappeared. Yeah, let's go with that. Cue Jamesikins, my love.

James skipped in and slid into a seat next to Molly. "You look suspiciously like a loser with no friends," he observed, grabbing a biscuit or something. "Luckily, I'm here, saving you from potential disgrace and loneliness. You're welcome."

Molly giggles good-naturedly at her newfound companion, because James is friendly and knows how to joke around, and does not get all uppity over nothing unlike some stupid people. "And you look suspiciously like a loser who has nobody else to sit with. So, like, you're welcome too I guess. Howzit going, James?"

James gasped, jokingly offended. "I am not a loser! It just so happens that I am a creature of the night by nature, and now is the only acceptable time to eat dinner. Obviously. Or maybe I'm just REALLY self-conscious about eating in front of people. See? You hafta consider these things before you just barge in on people." He took a huge bite of... whatever's there. I don't feel like thinking up food. "Speaking of, do you happen to be self conscious about eating in public?"

"You do hafta think about those things," Molly agrees in mock seriousness. "You don't want to scare people, because then they'll, like, freak out and go take their dinner into Moaning Myrtle's bathroom to eat or whatever and that's just creepy. But hey, you're kinda right - this is a totally cool time to eat dinner because, like, everybody else is gone and I don't have to maim anyone with my fork just to reach the platters or anything. Huh, awesome," she greams, taking a big bite of the mystery food. "And clearly I am not so self-conscious about eating in public or whatever," she shrugs. Then she remembers something and perks up. "Oh, right - I totally haven't seen you in forever, but I told my brother you admired his work!"

James dropped his biscuit and froze, slightly shaking from shock and excitement. Slowly, he turned to Molly. "What did he say?" he asked softly, in awe of everything and completely disregarding everything else Molly had just said.

It's easy to disregard a lot of what Molly says. Even she only drifts in and out while she's talking. *blinks*
Molly greams a little and waves her hand , knife flashing through the air because she forgot to put it down first. "Oh, you know," she says airily because it was a while ago and Mya is too lazy to go look up the exact conversation. "Just that, like, you must have good taste and judgement and all that jazz. I think he was a teeny tiny bit disappointed when I said you were a guy and not a girl, but he still totally offered to autograph a napkin or whatever for you if you wanted?"

"I could be a girl if he wanted me to be," James said, completely serious. Meanwhile, I"m backing away from the creeper living inside my head. "OMG could he autograph THIS ONE???" He held up a slightly smudged, wrinkled napkin from off the table. "No wait, THIS one. Look, it almost looks like his head!"

Molly shifts a little and does that shifty little looking away thing that people do when someone says something really weird, while Mya dies laughing. "I'm, like, pretty sure you're not his type. Totally don't take it personal, and for the love of Merlin, like, never ever offer him that because he'll get all puffy and smirky and stuff. Stay a guy, it suits you better," she giggles. She inspects the napkin that may well be the Chosen One with a grin. "Huh. It totally does look a bit like him. Now if you could charm the napkin to, like, flip its hair, that would be really super impressive and stuff."

"Omigod no you can't have it I have to charm it to do that now." James snatched the napkin back and held it close to his chest, fully intending to treasure it forever. "I-I'm not his type? B-but..." James trailed off, almost looking like he might cry, while I have a giggling fit and try to remember which brother we're talking about, because I've just kind of been vaguely saying "he" the whole time.

Molly holds up her hands in the classic 'surrender' pose to show she bears the Chosen napkin no ill will. Mya loves James, just so we're clear on that. "Ok, ok - he can, like, sign a bit of parchment or whatever and you can keep your Gideon-napkin," she says to placate him, and starts patting his shoulder gently because Mama Bear's Mama Bear Instincts kick in when she sees someone in distress. Well, not Kingsley, he gets laughed at and smacked in the face with a frying pan if he's in distress. Yeah. "Hey, don't be sad! It's just that Gid's, like, totally super super straight and all, so I don't think it would work out between you two and you should just be friends. It's not you - it's him. It's just totally the way these things work sometimes. You're still pretty, there's someone out there for you. Chin up, champ!"

Jamesy loves Mya. Lots.
James sniffed and looked up. "You really think so?" he asked, in that heartbroken-but-hopeful voice that line demands. I'm having way to much fun with this. Happy James again. He smiled and took some dessert from the middle. "Well that's good then. Because I totally gave up on Lily. Like six minutes ago. It was awesome."

This is ridiculous amounts of fun. Molly tosses her hair over her shoulder and flashes her million-watt, super supportive gream at James. "I, like, totally think so! Whoa! Wait just a clock tick - did you just say you gave up on Evans? Like, for real? Whoa," she breathes again, trying to comprehend such a world. "I totally never thought I'd see the day. Well, sucks for her then, she missed out. Good for you, James, now you can go find yourself someone who, like, isn't such a bitch to you," she shrugs, not at all realising that she's probably being kind of tactless, because Molly doesn't really know what 'tact' means.

Jamesy keeps reading posts, then forgetting they exist for a couple minutes.

Normally, James probably would have been all defensive about that. BUT NOT TODAY. "You know what? YEAH! I'll go find someone who's nice or something. I like nice people. Being nice should be a rule or something." Hey, Molly was pretty nice. What a crazy random happenstance. COULD THIS BE FORESHADOWING???

Mya forgets what she's talking about mid-sentence, so she's not gonna judge her Jamesy.

Molly frouts ever so slightly to herself, thinking of Kingsley and his social ri-tardedness and his very rude and mean and buttholeish refusal to be nice to her. "Like, ohmyGod I know, right? Like it's hard to be polite or whatever? I like nice people too. Not rude people who totally can't even carry on a bit of a conversation, or take a joke, or, you know, crack a smile once every now and again. Rude people are just big bags of suckiness. Whatever, let's totally not waste our energy on them - I have this thing where I refuse to let people who belong on Douchebag Island get to me. We should totally go find ourselves nice people to hang with," she says with a decisive little nod. Le gasp! Do I see more foreshadowing? Because dear little Mol has most certainly just realised that James is indeed a nice person, who can take a joke and carry on a conversation. And has never told her to shut up and just walked off. Molly likes that in a guy.

"Omigod Douchebag Island is like my least favorite place!" They have so much in common! "Lily thinks I belong on Douchebag Island, but that's so not true! I'm happy and nice and not a douchebag, duh!" Molly's speech patterns appear to be contagious. James can't really keep up with talking as much as Molly does. He tends to keep it down to expressing a thought and leaving it there for the other's input. I don't think I could even write a good stream of consciousness dialog.

Mya is afraid Molly is indeed contagious, because Mya says 'like, whatever' far too often at work, which does not do much for her authority as a supervisor...
"OhmyGod we have, like, heaps in common, you know? I'm totally not a fan of Douchebag Island either!" Molly greams. "And Lily is, like, so stupid sometimes. I mean, I know she studies all the freakin' time and she's meant to be some super smart chick or whatever, but, like, seriously? She's so mean! You're, like, heaps friendly and stuff, and she totally doesn't even give you a chance. I hate people who don't give people a chance for no good reason or whatever, they're jerks," she scowls. Oops. That part was kinda directed at Kingsley.

James slammed his fist on the table and stood up dramatically. "Who does she think she is, anyway? I was nothing but nice to her and she always shot me down! That's so rude! If anything, SHE belongs on Douchebag Island! You know what we need to do?" James sat back down and assumed a VERY serious face. "We need to make a REAL Douchebag Island, and send all the douchebags there so they won't bother us! It'll be like the Crusades, only not!"

Inner!Lily is not amused. Inner!Everyone else is loving this.
Molly lets out a little whoop of encouragement as James takes a stand. Literally. "Yeah! Take that, Evans! Douchebag Island should have, like, a giant wall all the way around it. And it should be full of Blast-Ended Skrewts. And the people on Doucebag Island should totally be forced to listen to Celestina Warbeck, like, 24/7. This is a cause I could totally get behind," she says, nodding firmly. Plus, if Evans got shipped off to Douchebag Island, Molly could steal her closet space which would be totally perfect for all her shoes.

"Yeah! In fact, I'm gonna go find douchebags for the island right now!" Of course you are, James. You're probably going to get one look at your first douchebag, and just walk away. With your luck, you'll try to cart of Evan first. Good luck with that, little guy. Nevertheless, James wants to try anyway. So he shook Molly's hand emphatically and strode purposefully off into the distance/out of the Great Hall. Because it seemed like a good place to end, ya know?

Good plan. Although if he comes across Evan first, it's definitely going to be one of his more short-lived plans..
Molly giggles as James shakes her hand and heads off. "Good luck with that, James. See you," she calls after him and turns back towards her meal. Much happier than she had been before, she finishes her dinner and struts off towards Gryffindor tower, because she feels like strutting and it's kind of impossible not to when you're in 6 inch heels.
