Dean is up on the astronomy tower with all his sketching supplies scatterd around him. His new sketchpad was almost full already, so he decided it would be best to just finish is off. The tower was always really calming and quiet, and it had the best views of all Hogwarts. He had been trying his hardest to keep his mind off Luna, but he just couldn't. He missed her terribly and really hoped he would get to see her soon. Sure, he had Seamus' tragic love life to keep him a little occupied, but he really needed to start working on his own.

Luna skipped up to the astronomy tower, hoping to get some stargazing done by herself because she had nothing better to do. She smiled when she saw Dean sitting with his sketchbook. She had been planning to spend tonight alone, but she was definitely pleased at the idea of being with Dean again, because she hadn't seen her best friend for a while now. "Hey Dean," she greeted happily as she got closer. She sat down next to him and smiled. "Whatcha drawing?"

Dean looked up when he heard someone coming up the stairs, hoping it was someone he knew. The biggest smile spread over his face when he saw the familiar blonde hair come into view. He thought his luck couldn't get any better. "Luna!" He gripped her into a big hug the moment she sat next to him. "I was just actually getting started. See that streak of moonlight hitting those trees over there." He pointed to what he was talking about. "I think it looks really pretty. What are you doing up here? Not that I mind! I was actually just thinking about you!"

Luna smiled and returned the hug. Dean was always so excited to see her and she couldn't not smile whenever they were together. She looked over to where he was pointing, immediately spotting the streak of moonlight that he was been talking about. "Right there?" She tilted her head to the side as she admired the sight that he was trying to sketch, smiling to herself at how Dean always seemed to be so observant with things like that. "Oh, I was just bored and decided to come up here to look at the stars. I can see them fine from my dorm, but I prefer coming up here to look at them." She smiled shyly when he said he had been thinking of her. "Really? All good things, I hope," she said teasingly.

Dean continued to smile. "I only ever think good things about you! Duh!" He shoved her a playfully. "No, I was just thinking about how I hadn't seen you in a while. And then here you are! Amazing how things work like that." He glanced up at the stars. "Yeah, you really can't beat this view. Oh! Hey, sorry about Valentines! I said we could hang out, but then Seamus had this whole big mess." He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Anyways, I feel terrible that I totally forgot."

Luna giggled and leaned against her friend's shoulder. "Yeah...funny." She looked up at him and smiled understandingly at his apology. "Oh, it's fine. I ended up finding some other things to do anyway," she said with a warm smile as she thought about her day with Rolf in the kitchens. "Hey, you know Rolf Scamander, right?"

Dean thought for a moment at her question. That name seemed familiar, where did he hear it before? "Uhh, I think I've heard of him. Not sure if I met him though." Dean had a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach at the thought of Luna bringing up another guy. "Why do you ask?" He tried to keep the nerves out of his voice.

"Oh. Well, he's in my house and...he sort of asked me to go on a date with him this Friday," she confessed, flushing slightly as she told Dean about her date. She didn't know why, but she always liked telling Dean about everything, especially after having to keep her relationship with Hermione a secret from him for so long.

Dean froze. He wasn't hearing this. Nope. He was having some sort of hallucination, yeah, that's what was happening. He looked over at her, face still frozen. "Sorry? Didn't catch that. What did you say?" He tried very very hard to smile, but it was strained.

"Rolf," she clarified, oblivious to Dean's change in attitude. "He asked to go on a date with me this Friday, and I said yes." She tilted her head to the side as she realized something was off with Dean. "You okay, Dean?"

Dean could have sworn he heard his heart shatter when she said she was going on a date. With another guy. "Right. Rolf. Date. Yeah. That'll be..fun. I'm, uh, happy for you." He stood abruptly and paced a little. "Oh. Um. Forgot I was afraid of heights. Gotta go." And he ran off, leaving all of his stuff behind, which was silly since his sketchpad contained an awful lot of Luna. He just had to get away from hearing that. He had to take time to realize that Luna really did not want him. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew he was being silly, and that he needed to be there for his friend. Right now, he could only mourn the loss of something he never had.
