Luna blinked at the 'my dear' bit. That was rather unusual, but she thought it was sort of adorable. She didn't spend much time thinking about that though. She was too busy blushing over his question. "Er- Love interest? Me? Um...Nope," she answered quickly, feeling terrible about lying to her best friend, though she knew that she'd feel worse if she told him. Just like how she felt after telling Rad about her relationship with Hermione. She already made that mistake once, and she was going to make sure she didn't do it again. "Why do you ask?"

"Oh," she smiles happily, glad to see that she has Dean looking out for her, even if he is wrong about the whole 'guy' thing. "That's sweet of you, Dean. You're a really great friend, you know," she says smiling as she leans over to hug him.

He cringes internally when she says the word 'friend' again. He knew it was hopeless to like her, but he couldn't stop it now. He closed his eyes and greamed when she hugged him. "I'm always here for you! Any time you need something. Keep me updated though, on the whole boyfriend situation. I like to be updated on my gossip." What was he turning into that annoying Lavender Brown?

Luna would never think that Dean is like Lavender Brown...Wait a second. Hehe. I get it. Luna sighed and pulled away from the hug, really wishing that she could just tell Dean about this one exciting thing in her life instead of keeping it from him like she was. "Thanks, Dean," she said quietly. "That's really nice of you. I'll keep you updated. The second I get a boyfriend, you'll be the first to know," she says with a smile because that's not a lie, right? Hermione is no boyfriend.

He continued to smile. "Good. I'll let you know if I ever get a girlfriend too." Which will never happen if Luna is preoccupied with Hermione. "That will probably be a while though.." He chuckled.

"Don't say that," she said playfully. "You're a great guy. I'm surprised you don't have a girlfriend. What girl doesn't want a guy who can draw, and is great with animals? And has sheep hair," she teased as she pat him on the head.

He chuckled. "Yeah....what girl..." He paused for a moment. "Well, I didn't meet any potential girls at the mixer. Maybe I'm doomed!" He threw his hands up dramatically then laughed.

Luna giggled and pat Dean on the head again. "Dean and Luna...Forever Alone," she said dramatically before rolling onto the ground and giggling again.

He liked that she put their names together like that. He joined in her laughter. "Hey, as long as I have you as a ...friend..I'm okay with that." He didn't like saying 'friend' but he would deal with that.

Luna smiled and nodded. "You're the greatest friend that anyone could ask for. As long as I have you...I don't mind being forever alone," she said, only half jokingly.

He smiled at her. "Okay. Back to work then? Since we usually work for five minutes then spend the rest of the time talking. I'm totally cool with that though too!"

"Oh, right. The studying part," she said with a laugh as she pulled her book back towards her. "Erm...What else are you learning in Transfiguration?" she asked curiously, interested in learning about N.E.W.T. level spells and charms.

"Well, I think the conjuring spells, human transfiguration, and animation of inanimate objects. I think that's about it, it will probably take me the whole year to be able to do them. It's going to be intense. At least I won't have potions to worry about anymore! I hated that class!."

Luna frouts because she still has potions, and Slughorn does not like her at all. "I don't like potions. Slughorn plays favorites and everyone knows it. You're lucky that you're finished with that class. Animation of inanimate objects? That sounds like fun."

"I was dreadful in potions. Not as bad as Seamus though, he always blew things up.." He chuckled. "Yeah. I can't wait to learn that! It's going to be fun! It will make housework a lot easier.."

Luna giggled, thinking of dancing tea cups and dancing brooms and things like that. "It would. My dad uses charms like that to do the dishes all the time," she said with a small smile, thinking about her daddy. What a nice guy. "He's sort of taught me the idea of how to use those spells, but they're pretty tricky."

Dean nodded. "Yeah, my stepdad knows a bunch too. He makes it looks so easy! I guess once you get it down it's a little easier. It's fascinating coming into the kitchen and seeing all these things doing stuff on their own. I think I'd be a little afraid to use the spell on knifes though, you never know what may happen.."

Luna giggled again, she really did do that a lot around Dean. "Knives...Yeah, that doesn't sound like it would turn out so well if you messed up the spell." She yawned and realized that it was sort of starting to get dark. These study sessions sure went by fast. "Think we should head up to the castle before it gets too dark?"

He looked around at the darkening sky and sighed. "I suppose." He said a bit sadly. "I can't believe how fast the time goes when we hang out! I feel like it was just the middle of the day! Weird.." He started putting his books into a neat pile. "One of these times we may actually get some legit studying done!" He laughed.

"I know. It always goes by quickly," she says with a sad sigh as she puts her books into her bag. "Well, we did study...for about three minutes," she giggles. "Maybe next time we can go for five."

He laughed loudly. "Okay. Deal. Five minutes, max!" He laughed even more. "Got all your things then?" He stood and prepared to accompany her back to the castle, because that's what a gentleman does!
