Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Don't get me wrong, my family is awesome, just my mum is old fashioned." Vee didn't want Rose to get the wrong idea. "Yeah, Hufflepuff makes a nice change from my home life. You're in..." She paused "Ravenclaw, right?"

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Yep, I'm a smarty." Rose grinned, "It's kinda secluded up there, but we're a tight knit group so it's all good. Much like the you Puff's, I'd bet." She finished painting her nails and stretched her legs out in from of her. "All done!" She exclaimed, then she looked at Vee, "Want me to do you?"

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
[LOL yup! ]
"Yep, the 'Puffs are pretty close." Vee said, watching Rose finish her nails "They look fab! Sure!" She said after Rose asked if she wanted her nails done. "I haven't met a lot of Ravenclaw's yet. I haven't met very many people at all yet, to tell you the truth."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose shrugged, "I can understand that." She said, motioning for Vee to sit down beside her, "We're a pretty close group, it's hard to get to know people. It's really not like you'd expect at all, is it? Except for the occasional scandal," Here she paused to grin, "Everyone tends to get along. But trust me, once you get to know people you'll have fun like no other. Plus, you know me now, and I'm just about the coolest." Rose smiled again to show that she knew she was kinda lame, and not that snobby at all.

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Already it's more fun than my old school, which was full of snobby French girls who stole my nutella. And yes, the occasional scandal, but then those occur everywhere." Vee allowed herself a half smile. "And yes, now that I know you, I'm just about set because you are the coolest." She laughed, knowing that Rose was joking, not saying Rose wasn't one of the cooles people she met so far. "And me. You can't get cooler than a member of the Black family who knows about 3 people." Vee said jokingly.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"What school did you go to? Beauxbatons?" Rose only suggested this because it was the only French school she knew of. She waited until Vee was sitting down beside her before holding up her nail polish and asking, "Fingers or toes?" She smiled, "I don't know any other Black descendants very well. I think there's two or three here. They must be distant relatives if you lived far enough away that you didn't come here, hmm?"

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Yep, Beauxbatons. I live near London but my mum thought Beauxbatons would make me more lady-liked" Beauxbatons had not suited Vee in the least. "Oh yes, I'm sure that there are Blacks here. Our family is pretty big. Most are Slytherin, so we dont talk much." Through the whole bit about her family, Vee spoke with a bit of disgust in her voice.

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
[Don't worry about it, I'm studying for my exam tomorrow anyways ]
"I've always kinda wanted to visit Beauxbatons, it seems like such a formal place. Even here, where everyone's suppose to follow the dress code and stuff, they're pretty lax with it." Rose shrugged, still waiting for directions on whether to paint Vee's fingers or toes. "I totally get that. Most of my family is in Gryffindor. There are the odd few in other houses, so I'm not the only one. My cousin has it the worst, he got sorting into Slytherin. No one cares, of course, but I think he minds."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Oh, fingers please!" Vee said, remembering Rose's question. "Beauxbatons was fun at first. I mean, fashionable uniforms, a cute palace, delicious food and all. It's much more... Fancy... Than Hogwarts. But people aren't as nice. And all the grandeur wears off after a while, and you realize that most of them are just bitches who want to be popular." She coughed in disgust.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose took Vee's right hand and started to meticulously paint her fingernails. She nodded through the other girl's description of Beauxbaton, it sounded just like she'd imagined it would. She looked up in surprise when Vee used such harsh words to describe her former friends. "You'll be happy to know that I don't think there's anyone here that's bitchy to that extent." She shrugged, "At least, no one that I hang around."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Vee watched Rose carefully paint her nails. "Oh, we weren't friendly. Only one girl and I, and she ended up going to Hogwarts as well." She said, reading the look on Rose's face. "I havent heard of anyone that mean around here, true. And if there was I wouldn't expect you to hang out with them" She smiled again.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose grinned, "I'm that predictable, am I?" She reached for Vee's left hand, having finished the other one, and started painting it. "I don't get into a lot of trouble because I usually only come out during warm weather. Winter's not my thing, I tend to hibernate. Or at least hide up in the tower in front of the fire with a book. It's the Ravenclaw in me."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Not predictable, just nice I guess." Vee said "You dont seem like that." she added. "Oohh I love reading in front of a fire. Tons if people tell me I should be in Ravenclaw, I read so much! Once I read an 800 page book in a day. During summer of course." Vee said. Last winter she had sat in front of the fire reading all of the holidays, and it hadnt been unpleasant either.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose put down Vee's finished hand and beamed, "Well then, I can tell we're going to get along just fine. Who knows, maybe we'll even end up starting a book club. Which, you know would turn out to be mostly Ravenclaws and then you. An 800 page book in one day? Impressive. I don't think I could ever read for that long, I have to be in the zone." She said 'zone' like a crazy might say 'alternate dimension'.

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"A book club sounds fun" Vee replied "I suppose quite a few people our age dot really appreciate books. I guess I appreciate then a bit too much. I apologize to them if I drop them or something." She grinned a by sheepishly. "I guess you could say I'm always in the 'Zone'. Books are like my best friends, you can always rely on them to be the same and not abandon you." Vee said in a dreamy voice "I guess that sounds sort of like what they say in those book of mine. But it's true." She examined her hand admiringly. "Very nice! I can never get the paint to stay on the nail."
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"We should do it, then." Rose said, happy that Vee thought it was a good idea. "I'm not that crazy about books, but escaping from this world is a nice change sometimes. If you're looking for something that trustworthy, why don't you get a kitten? I really want one, it's only a matter of my parents. Apparently my mom use to have this evil one and my dad has hated them ever since." She smiled at the compliment, "What to know how I do it?" She leaned closer until she could whisper in Vee's ear, "Magic." Sitting back, she laughed, "Just kidding, it's tons of practice. Though I'm sure you could do it with magic..."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Kittens are adorable but they make me sneeze. I have an owl named Egbert and I'm thinking about getting a Pygmy puff. I think they're hypo-allergenic." Vee smiled a bit. "I could probably clean it up with magic, but it is likely I would end up cutting my fingers up." She joked
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"You're allergic to cats? How can you stand to live?" Rose asked, effectively bringing out the dramatic part of her. "I think Pygmy puff are hype-allergenic." She said, "Though I don't see the big fuss over them. I mean, what do they do? Just sit there and look... pink?" She shrugged, "Are you allergic to dogs, too? They're not allowed at Hogwarts, but they're fun!"

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"I live with my books!" Vee joked. "I don't know, they remind me a bit of the little hedgehogs in Alice in Wonderland I think. And I am not allergic to dogs, if I was I might die! I love them!" Vee thought about her puppy at home. "I have a puppy. Well, I did but my mum gave it away to my Uncle." He was an adorable retriever mix.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose frowned. Vee seemed to actually grow up in a stifling household. To her own standards, of course. "Well, a Pygmy Puff seems like the right move for you, then. Your mom couldn't possibly give that away. Plus, they love you unconditionally, unlike cats." She grinned, "And boys."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"I dont think my mum liked the puppy much after it broke her favorite ugly vase. His name is Sirius, though, after my great uncle." Vee still got to see him sometimes. "Yes, there is no way mum would give a Pygmy puff away. Especially as they can't break things." She smed at the thought of a tiny ball of fuzz breaking a vase. "Someday I will ge a cat. And a boyfriend, because unfortunately, I have not met any around here, besides one Hufflepuff boy and he has a boyfriend." She sighed.
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"Ugh," Rose rolled her eyes dramatically, "Believe me when I tell you all the good ones are taken. Still, maybe you can snatch one away. That's a skill I have yet to perfect. You've got a advantage on me, though, I'm related to half the boys here."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"You would be surprised how many I'm related to. I'm probably related to even you somehow! And the amount of boys I've even MET is less than I can count on my fingers. You have... I don't know... Home advantage you could say." Vee grimaced. "You're a Weasley, right? I AM related to you... Your grandmum was my great uncle's cousin or something."
Re: The Quidditch Pitch
Rose laughed, "Yeah, but in a pure blood world, no one actually goes back that far. In fact, dating cousins isn't that strange here." She smiled, "I'm kidding, don't date your cousin. You may be shunned. What we really need here are some new boys. Fresh blood for the pickings. And fast: summer is fast approaching and I like to have a fling lined up. Er, a person with whom to attempt a fling. It doesn't usually get much farther than that."

Re: The Quidditch Pitch
"We need to recruit boys for Hogwarts or something." Vee giggled "The attempts at summer flings... We should start a club for single girls lamenting the lack of datable boys instead of a book club. It would have more members than the go stones club" She rolled her eyes, annoyed. "Summer gets SO boring. Especially with my mum, who is someone you would rather see once every two months instead of every day."
