He blinked at her a few times and shook his head. "Umm, Yeah. That's just going to screw you in the end really. You can't really keep everything bottled up forever." He said and gave her a small smile.

She shook of his hands and jumped to her feet. "No! I can't! It kills me! I can't listen to you talk about her! How do you not see that! You saw that I was sick, how can you not see this?" She threw up her hands in exasperation.

He jumped a bit when she jumped to her feet and quickly stood up. "What!? Millicent, Calm down! Jeez, sorry...I didn't know you had something against Andi." he said, still oblivious to the reason she is freaking out.

He stared at her in shock. How could she possibly be in love with him?? She couldn't be...there was no such thing as love. He refused to believe there was. He just sat there staring at her for a good minute or two. "Wha--What? No....you can't...You can't love me Millicent..." he said, still staring at her in shock. "No....love doesn't exist...there is no such thing."

She continued her pacing. "Love does exist Marcus, and I may not love you yet but I know I could get there one day. I know you could love me too! I mean, you are the only guy that's ever been nice to me. Ever cared what would happen to me. You think you don't love me? Then why would you care so much about what I do to my body? You may only love me as a friend now, but you..you could love me!" She was still shouting.

Marcus just shook his head. "No...No Millicent. Stop saying love. No...there's no such thing. Nobody has true love. Its all lies..." he said shaking his head. "I just...You're my best...you're my best friend and I worry about you...I don't want my best friend to die Millicent..." He said, ignoring the whole, you could love me thing.

There was something there in what he said. She spoke in a much softer voice. "Marcus. What happened that made you hate love? Haven't you ever seen an old couple holding hands after 60..70 years of marriage. Love does exist."
