Hermione looks back up again, so thoroughly beyond confused right now it isn't even funny. Why is he still talking to her? The pink in her cheeks deepens again. "What? I- I was trying to read. I like to read," she says blankly. "Um, Hermione... Granger," she manages, because she's polite even when she's nervous and oh, look, back to the book again.

Gideon grins some more - she is kind of adorable. And besides, this whole situation is fairly amusing anyway to him; embarrassing people through flirting is a fantastic and favourite pasttime of Gideon Prewett, after all. "Hermione. An unusual name. And you're in Gryffindor, I suppose? I'm a 7th year, myself. What year are you in?"

"Because Gideon is such a common name?" Hermione retorts, just a little defensive. She is somewhat thrown off balance after all, given that she suspects Gideon might actually be flirting with her, if one could imagine such a thing. A half a second later, she looks properly horrified with herself for being so rude. She bites her lip awkwardly, her eyes flickering down to the Gryffindor tie hanging loosely around his own neck for a moment. Long enough to notice he has a nice chest, of course, but for once she manages not to embarrass herself by staring. "You're in Gryffindor, too? I'm a sixth year." She looks back down at her book, at a complete loss for what to say. Of course, Gideon doesn't seem to need much to go on. Huh. Just like his sister. Awesome.

Gideon realises that Hermione has absolutely no idea what she's doing, and that she is clearly not used to having people flirt with her - even if Gideon is the kind of guy who flirts with absolutely everybody. Not that Hermione knows that, of course. "I wasn't trying to be rude, you know. It's a pretty name - just, I've never heard it before. I like it, honestly." He realises that she is checking hom out, and he puffs up a little. "I am indeed a Gryffindor. Now, it seems surprising that we haven't met yet. Have you been hiding from me?"

Blushing a little, yet again, at the compliment, Hermione tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and actually laughs quietly at his question. "I haven't been hiding from you," she says, because he is not Percy so it very much is not a lie. "You probably just never noticed me when there were other people to talk to. Or more likely I was in the Library," she says simply. Yes, Hermione really does have no clue that when Gideon flirts with her, the polite thing to do would be to flirt back. Well, she wouldn't have a clue where to start anyway, so maybe it's best we not fill her in on that part of it right now - poor kid is dealing with enough just having a good-looking guy who is not her best friend Viktor talk to her.

Gideon smirks again. "Well, that might explain it. I don't really frequent the library that often, come to think of it. If at all. I prefer hanging in the Common Room to studying. And I haven't actually met that many people yet, so maybe that's why I haven't met you before." He has obviously already realised that Hermione is totally clueless, but it's too much fun, and he has nowhere else to be. Lucky Hermione.

"Maybe," Hermione muses, then she asks the one question she can never quite seem to work out the answer to by herself. You'd think she'd have managed by now, given how she was friends with Harry and Ron for so long. "How do you manage to do all your assignments without ever visiting the Library?" she wonders.

[Gideon Prewett]

Upon hearing that last comment, Gideon bursts out in fully-fledged laughter. What a question to be asking, when Gideon Prewett himself is flirting with her. "Well," he replies once he is able to properly speak again, "It's quite easy - I have managed to pass and do quite in all my subjects without too much effort, luckily. There are better ways for me to spend my time, of course."

Hermione is taken aback when Gideon bursts out laughing. She hasn't said anything deliberately funny. In fact, she was being perfectly serious with her question, so her powers of deduction lead her to believe that he's laughing at her. She looks away. "Oh... Well how do you spend your time then, if there's better things to be doing than worrying about your education?" she asks, just for something to say. And because she really doesn't consciously think along those lines.

Gideon resists the urge to laugh again, mostly because of how mortified Hermione looks. Clearly she was being serious, and this seems to be another genuine question, so Gideon puts on a Sirius serious face, just for her, and tries to explain. "Well, there's the inherent coolness that comes from being a Prewett - contrary to popular belief, not all of it comes naturally. Plus, I do quite like to eat, and generally being awesome and playing tricks on people tends to take up a lot of my time. And then, there's also the time I devote to getting to know and entertaining the fine young ladies of Hogwarts - they need to be looked after, of course. Such as yourself, Miss Hermione." He says, smirking and flipping his hair again.

Hermione, who has actually managed to be so polite as to look at Gideon while he speaks, regrets making the effort once she's processed the whole of his explanation. Merlin, the only time she's been referred to as a 'fine young lady' is in a report card. She's pretty sure the context has changed Gideon's meaning drastically from that, though. She stares at him for a few seconds, her eyes wide and the heat creeping up her cheeks in a way that's almost familiar to her by now, she's experienced it so often in this one conversation. "What?" she blurts incredulously. Then she mentally forehead slaps. She could not possibly be worse at this 'conversation' thing if she tried. She decides it's high time to pull the plug, make some reasonable excuse to leave, say a pleasant goodbye, and walk leisurely away. "I've got to go," she blurts, scrambling to her feet and scurrying off, her book clutched tightly to her chest. Yeah. Nice theory, shame about the translation to practice.

Gideon blinks.















And, although I wish I could leave that post there, I won't. So, after Gideon blinks, he does so a few more times, before smirking widely and flipping his hair again. The awkwardness is one of the best bits, he mused. Pity she can't handle it. Still smirking, he stands and makes his way leisurely up to the castle. And that was fun.

Shit. Inner!Hermione never backs down when she feels like she's been challenged. My head is not big enough to deal with this amount of awkwardness.

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

Viktor walks up here to this secluded spot and looks around. Wow, sure looks quiet and cut off from everyone else. Sort of like it's...secluded. How fitting. Anyway, he's sitting on a rock and it's starting to get dark and chilly so he's got his favorite red jacket on. It's just the coolest jacket ever. Everyone wishes they had one just like it. They do. I wish I had one like it, honestly. So, he's sitting here and thinking about his BFF, Molly, and how he promised he would teach her how to cook Bulgarian dishes. That reminds him of how he told Caradoc that he would cook for him sometime because the man's obviously never had Bulgarian food. I mean, he hadn't even heard of Bulgaria until Viktor told him about it. And now he's thinking about how he had been thinking about eating Bulgarian food off of those sexy abs of Caradoc's because, you know, it's hard to find quality plates these days. And that is what I leave you with; a Viktor Krum thinking about eating food off of a naked Caradoc. The end.

Caradoc walks out here in his nice warm coat, and while it isn't a nice quidditch team jacket like Viktor's, is rather nice, being designer and all, 'cause we all know Rad likes to live the life of the rich and famous. Eowyn's going to be quoting "The Fame" in her posts all night long, fyi, as it's stuck in her head. Caradoc wouldn't mind being a plate for Viktor, as long as he kept the licking going downtown, as well. Also, the naked part is totally cool with Rad, as he doesn't really believe in clothing anyway, though he figures if he's gotta wear it, it might as well be nice clothing. Burberry and Valentino for Caradoc Dearborn, yes indeed. He sees Viktor and recognizes that daydreamy look on his face and grins, walking over and giving him the 'sup headnod. "Hey there, sexy."

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

Viktor looks up and-- Oh hey, look who it is! "Hey, Rad. Nice coat," he says smiling at his sexy friend because Viktor may not know much about fashion but he does know that what Rad is wearing is some nice shit right thur. Yep. Thur.

[Sirius Black]

"Thanks. Just got it in the mail yesterday, isn't it gorgeous?" he said happily, because he really just likes getting new clothes, though not as much as Fabian, or something. "So, how's it hangin'? Just chillin' out here all by your lonesome, I take it? Hope I'm not intruding on some deep philosophical thought or something," he teased, because Rad's pretty sure Viktor doesn't do a whole lot of that 'thinking' thing.

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

Viktor actually does a lot of thinking when he's on his own, so Rad can just hush. Moving on. "No, not at all," he says smiling, glad to have company after chilling here all on his own. "I've been alright. How about you?"

[Sirius Black]

"I've been great," he said happily, because he's been having a rather nice time, becoming quite close friends with both Remus and Tristan, and he'd spent a nice time with Fabian some hours ago. "What've you been up to, Mr. Fancy Quidditch Player?" he teased, sitting down beside Viktor, appreciating the company plenty, though he's totally cool with Viktor just not talking at all, 'cause he's totally only here for the eye candy.

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

Viktor shrugs. "Oh, nothing much. Just snogging my sexy straight friends," he says with a shrug as if he does that all the time, which he doesn't, by the way...Because he's never had many straight friends until he came here. He had Tolga, but that man is just way too straight to even attempt to snog. Viktor would probably get shot or something.

Caradoc rolls his eyes and laughs, shaking his head. "Why, why must you do that, when this school is so full of sexy gay or bi men for you to hook up with? Really now, Viktor, I wonder about you, do you have some sort of complex, that you need to try and convert every guy around here? Honestly," he laughed, thinking about poor Remus.

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

Viktor laughs. "No, there's no converting this guy. He's as straight as they come, but it's not my fault he thought I vos drowning and felt the need to perform CPR. He deserved it too. He shouldn't have been so cranky. Maybe if he vosn't, I vouldn't have done it," he says with a smirk.

[Sirius Black]

"He thought you were drowning," repeated Caradoc skeptically, before laughing again. "You must have really wanted to kiss that boy, huh? That sexy? What's his name, might I ask?" he questioned, rather curious to hear about this sexy, unconvertable man.

[Viktor Krum - Inactive]

"Scorpius Malfoy. Ve've been friends since ve met the first veek of class. He's a pretty awesome guy," he says with a grin, thinking of his totally awesome colouring buddy that he could talk to about almost anything.

[Sirius Black]

Caradoc blinks, then doubles over in hysterical laughter. "Wait, seriously, you kissed HIM!? I'm not gonna lie, I'm fuckin' jealous, that hot piece of ass is drop dead gorgeous! You go, boy!" he exclaimed, thoroughly amused and slightly turned on by that mental image, thanks, Viktor.
