Ted laughed, "Yes we eat the same as wizards. Pretty much everything you get in the great hall. Well we drink different juices and we don't have butterbeer but pretty much the same thing. Oh and different sweets."

"Really? I can't imagine not collecting Chocolate Frog cards. What things do you drink? Do you have Firewhiskey? What kind of sweets do you have?" Arthur said. He had always wanted to learn about Muggle candies and Muggle drinks. That way, when he was of age, he could into a Muggle bar and order a drink.

"Well we have regular whiskey, and lots of other alcoholic things. Then we also have similar candies to you, we have a lot of chocolates and then we just don't have the magical elements. I know I have muggle candies in my room if you want to try some."

"Really? I would love that. Thank you so much!" Arthur said, jumping on the balls of his feet. "What are they called? Do they have cool names? I bet they have interesting names."

"Really? What are those smartie thing? Do they make you smarter? And are gummy bears made from bears?" Arthur asked. He desperately wished that he had that much candy in his room, Muggle or wizarding. (Teresa kinda wishes she had Ted's candy, especially the smarties.)

Ted laughed, "Smarties are candy coated chocolate. And gummy bears are chewy candy shaped like little bears. They're really cute." Tam wishes she had that much candy her her room but she's munching on the cookie dough that Teresa brought her so it's all good.

Arthur's eyes widened. "Where can I buy these sweets? Do I buy them at a Muggle store? Do they have Muggle candy stores that sell gumby bears and smartsies?" Teresa now feels the need to fetch some more cookie dough that she bought last night.

Ted grinned, "Yes they do. Candy stores are the best." There wasn't really any point correcting the way he said things at this point. And it was endearing really. "Muggles really have most of the same shops wizards have, just without the magic."

"That's exciting? Where do Muggles go to shop? Do they have their own Diagon Alley? They pay for stuff using pounds, right? But I don't understand how you pay for something with how much you weigh." Arthur was enjoying his conversation for Teddy; never before had he learned this much stuff about Muggles in such short a span. He almost wished that he had some parchment with him so that he could makes notes out of all of this.

Ted laughed, "Well we have much more than diagon alley. All of muggle london is made of shops everywhere. No one has to go to just one specific place for their shopping. And pounds are a type of money. Like galleons."

"Wow. How much is a pound? Do they actually weigh a pound? And where in London do you go? Do they shops in other places? And do you have your own Gringotts? Who works there, if goblins don't?" Arthur asked excitedly. He was grateful that Ted kept answering his questions, for people usually tired of his constant stream of requests quickly.

Ted shook his head, "No, they actually weigh less than a galleons. They're about the size of sickles. And then when something costs more than five quid then you use bills, paper money. And we have lots of banks, I can't really easily explain the banking but what happens is that you have money in a system and you can get to it anywhere. We also have machines called ATMs where they exist to give you money from your account." Ted is SO amused by this.

"Wow? What do AMTs look like? How do you get the money of out it? How does it knows its you and not someone trying to steal your money? Is there a person inside of it? Also, I was researching Muggle weapons for a small side project of mine. Can you tell me what a gun shoots and what exactly numiechuckles are?" Arthur asked. The side project, well Arthur won't mention the side project except that it may possibly involve the father of a ferret.

Ted was about to answer his question about ATMs when Arthur mentioned Nummiechuckles. At that point Ted actually fell off the log laughing. After he composed himself he shook his head at arthur, "Nunchucks? Well... they're basically two sticks or batons connected by chain or rope. You swing them and hit people with them. Not many people use them though. And guns shoot bullets."

"Wow!" Arthur responded. He really needed to purchase a pair of those nummiechuckles; they could be very useful. "Where can you buy the nummiechuckles? And what are bullets? Are they hexes? But Muggles can't use magical, so are the bullets a kind of mini nummiechuckle?"

"Bullets are like little led balls, only differently shaped. The guns shoot them out and they're not like nunchucks at all. Nunchucks are more for hand to hand combat. They're very very dangerous."

"Oh," Arthur replied. This Muggle weaponery could be very confusing; he needed to find an expert who could teach him about these devices if he ever hoped to use them properly. "Have you ever used a nummiechuckles or a gun with bullets before?"

"Well I've never used nunchucks but I have used guns before. Muggles have these things called shooting ranges where you can go and practice shooting at targets, and then there's clay pigeons which are actually little disks that you shoot at as they fly through the air. And I've been hunting before with my father."

Post  Dean Thomas March 11th 2011, 3:28 am

Dean is here laying face down in the cold ground. He had come here straight from the Astronomy tower after hearing about Luna's new love interest. He wanted to just lay here and freeze. He couldn't believe how foolish he felt, or how delusional his mind was. How could he have fooled himself into thinking that someone like Luna would like someone like him? He let out a low groan and continued to just lay there.

Post  Remus Lupin March 11th 2011, 3:48 am

*is just going to assume this is after Rem hangs out with Reed, hope that's okay*

Remus is in a slightly better mood after meeting Reed. He's trying to focus on that to keep his mind off of other things and getting all miserable again, though it's hard. Walking about, he hears a low groan and almost trips over someone just laying in the grass. Looking down, he nudges the person with his foot. "Er...hello? You oka-oh! Dean? Are you alright?" he crouched down and pushed on his brother's shoulder to flip him over onto his back. "Looks like we're both having a rough day. What happened, brother?" He'd grabbed his jacket so luckily the annoying birthday button the Marauders had magicked to stay on his shirt would be covered up.

Totally fine!!

Dean wished he could turn invisible when he heard someone walking in his general vicinity. Then he heard it was his brother, and felt even worse. Remus always had to find him in these times, didn't he? When Dean was turned over he let out another groan. not even caring that his face was probably covered in dirt and grass. He looked up at his brother with dull eyes. "Nothing important. Something I need to get over apparently and stop being so delusional." Dean didn't remember at that exact moment that it was indeed his brothers birthday, but he would remember soon enough.

"You and me both, Dean. You and me both." Remus sighs, plopping down on the grass next to his brother. He had a feeling he knew what, well, who his brother was talking about and understood what Dean was saying. Remus was dealing with pretty much the same thing. This whole 'getting over Sirius' thing wasn't working very well, even more so now that he knew Sirius actually liked guys as well - it kept making him think that maybe if he tried hard enough he'd get a chance...but it wasn't going to happen, he just couldn't accept it. Especially since he'd already lost Jack, he didn't want to lose Sirius too. He reached over and started rubbing the dirt and grass off Dean's face. "There, that's better." he smiles softly.

Dean propped himself up on his elbows after Remus brushed off his face. "You still in the same boat as before? I literally just found out that she is going on a date with another guy on Friday. I can't believe I thought she'd want me. I mean, was I so crazy to think that? I held her for a whole night as she cried from a broken heart. I was always there for her." He started to feel a little angry. He looked down at the grass and started pulling out fistfuls of it, tossing it off to the side.
