Luna Lovegood wrote:Luna has never wished that she could take back three little words more than she does right now. She looks away from Hermione, quickly wiping away a fallen tear as she thinks about what to say next because for once in her life she really has no clue. "Never," she mumbles, trying to absorb everything Hermione's just told her. She finally told Hermione just how she was feeling, doing what her father had always encouraged her to do by speaking her mind, and now she was being punished for it by learning that Hermione was never going to return her feelings no matter what Luna did. She had never really been one for just dating around for fun. Honestly, she wasn't really into relationships at all if she didn't think that she'd be with that person forever. But isn't that was a lot of people want for the most part? It's not like anyone can want their relationships to end like this. Not if it makes your heart get that burning, breaking feeling and your stomach twist into knots like Luna's is right now. "It's not like I can force you to love me," she manages, trying to keep her voice from cracking. She wasn't exactly the type of girl who dreamed about her wedding or having a family or anything, but it's still not a nice feeling to know that the person you fell hard for can't return those feelings. In fact, it's an awful feeling that Luna feels terrible about because Dean probably felt the same way when Luna told him she didn't like him back. "Maybe...Maybe I should just go," she mumbles, taking a few steps back from Hermione without looking into the other girl's face.
Hermione wants to die. "I'm so sorry," she says again, feeling pathetic even as she does so and knowing all the apologies in the world can't make up for what she's done to Luna. Her hands shake as she feebly brushes the tears from her eyes. "I n-never meant to hurt you and I didn't want it to end this way!" she bites out, her voice beginning to shudder as the sobs start to force their way out.

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Luna doesn't respond because she has no idea what to say to that. She can't imagine how anyone would want anything to end like this, and briefly wonders if all those weeks of being so incredibly happy was worth it if it meant she'd have to feel like this for who knows how long. So rather than saying anything and risk breaking down in front of Hermione, she does what she just suggested and turns away from Hermione and walks away without another word as she finally lets the tears fall freely down her face.
Re: The Hippogriff Pen
When Luna turns and walks away, Hermione's hand moves on impulse to stop her, but she stays it. For a wild second she almost thinks it would be worth lying just to take away the pain she's caused, but she knows deep down that's not going to solve anything. She can't keep up the pretense forever, it's not fair to either of them. So, feeling like the lowest form of dirt in the world, Hermione helplessly watches Luna walk away from her for the last time before she completely crumples, covering her face with her hands as the sobs rack her body. Eventually, her whole body is dried out and, feeling more drained than she ever has in her life, Hermione makes her way back to Gryffindor tower, where hopefully she will fall into a deep coma and never ever wake up again.

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Lily is here, taking a stroll just outside the Hippogriff pen even though it's probably covered in snow in Scotland right now. Votever, it's summer here, so that just does not compute for Mya. Let's just say that there's not much snow yet, and Lils is wearing a sweater and scarf. She's just wandering along happily, thinking how great life is in general.

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Caradoc is walking by wearing a nice, warm jacket because it's fucking freezing in Jersey and Eowyn wishes she were warm, when he spies that slightly uptight but still rather nice girl he'd spoken to a few times, and because he's bored and friendly, he wanders over. "Hey there, Lily. How's it going? Didn't think many people would be out around the grounds at this time of year," he remarked, offering her a smile.

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Lily smiles, recognising Caradoc, the stoner who was actually a nice guy if one overlooks the consumption of gillyweed on school grounds. "Hello, Caradoc, how're you? If you think this is cold, try taking an impromptu dip in the lake," she tells him, because THAT was cold. Fun, though, especially when you have someone to warm up with afterward. "I suppose most people would call it the kind of weather for hot chocolate and roaring fires, but I like the outdoors."

"Dip in the lake? I could probably manage it," he said, shrugging. "Doesn't mean it's the brightest thing to around now, though. But obviously I agree about the outdoors, given that I'm out here too," he replied. "How've you been? That dick still bothering you? He's a damned piece of work, that ass, saw bullying some poor kid like last week."
Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Lily just shrugs. "Well, Gideon stole the cheese so he had it coming, and it all just went rapidly downhill from there when he capsized the boat," she says by way of explanation and OHSHITTHEOARS. Meh, summoning charm, they'll be right. She smiles, because her existence of late has been refreshingly Potter-free. "I've been great. No, Potter seems to have crawled back into whatever hole he was spawned from for the time being, thank Merlin. Thanks, by the way. I don't know if I ever properly thanked you for stepping in that day..." she says, because it was nice of him to do so. "Wait, bullying? Sounds about right. Erm... the kid he was picking on - was he a Slytherin by any chance?" she asks shrewdly.

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
"Gideon stole the... cheese? I don't even-- right. I'll just accept the fact Gideon is awesome and just leave the rest to my imagination, though, this might be one of those cases where the truth is even more epic," he snorted, trying to imagine what the hell Gid was doing with cheese. "It was no problem, I just don't like it when dicks like that act like they have the right to be, well, dicks. Actually-- yeah, it was," he said, glancing down at Lily curiously. "Some black haired kid, I think he said his name was Snape? I wasn't gonna interfere, but Black had disarmed him, and James was about to take a shot at him-- I don't like that. You're gonna fight, you best damn well at least make it a fair one," he said, shrugging.
Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Lily laughs. "He's kind of awesome. Don't tell him I said that though - his ego's quite big enough as it is. Yeah, we were having a picnic on a boat and he stole my cheese slices. I wasn't about to let that fly," she says with a little shrug. Who does she look like - Molly? Pfft, cut your own damned cheese, boy. *giggles at 'cut the cheese'* A little frown line appears between her eyes when Rad describes the sadly familiar scene of Potter and Black picking on Snape. "I'm not surprised - they've been doing that since first year. Of course, Sev's mouth doesn't ever help the situation, but it's no excuse for ganging up on someone!"

OKAY! I'll be on and off for the rest of the night! Homework Supernatural may delay my posting though.
Rad burst out laughing at the idea of Gideon losing a fight over cheese with Lily, and made a mental note to tease Gideon about it next time he saw the guy. "Yeah, he is pretty awesome-- a shame I haven't gotten to hang out with him more, he's pretty chill. Wait, so Sirius and James have been bugging that kid for years? No wonder the kid seemed so frightened-- he didn't seem all that bad, though I may have been a bit short with him-- wasn't exactly amused at the time," he said, leaning against the fence of the pen. "Just a question-- are those two always assholes? Because either it's terrible luck, or they're terrible people. Every time I've run into either of them, they've been acting like total douches."

Fair enough, love
Lily just smiles, glad Rad's thoroughly amused. His question has her sobering once more, though. "Yeah, they've just... clashed. Ever since the very first train ride on the Hogwarts Express. Black can be tolerable in small doses I suppose, but Potter's completely insufferable," she says scornfully. "They're spoilt, arrogant bullies that think a little magical talent and privilege gives them the right to abuse everyone else for their own amusement."

Remus hadn't really just gone wandering outside for the heck of it in ages. So here he is, just chilling right outside the hippogriff pen and watching the beautiful creatures as they meander about. His books and bag are sitting on the ground next to the rock he's sitting on. *cue Al*

Al was taking a walk out on the grounds, needing to get some fresh air after his little drunk fiasco in the dorm. He smiled as he saw Remus for the first time since like forever, and made his way over to him. "Hey, Remus!" he greeted, standing over his friend as he buried his hands in his pockets. "How've you been?"

Re: The Hippogriff Pen
Remus looks away from the Hippogriffs because he hears Al approaching before he even speaks. Yay wolfy ears. "Hey, Al!" he smiles brightly, glad to see his friend after what must have been ages. "I've been okay. How about yourself? It's been a while." the rock was big enough for them both to sit on so he moved over a bit in case Al wanted to sit.

"That it has, my friend. That it has," he agreed as he took a seat next to Remus on the rock. "I've been alright. Mostly just been spending time with Scorpius, and getting ready for what I'm going to do after graduation," he answered with a light shrug.
