Caradoc is walking back into the castle when he hears raised voices, and glances around to see what's going on, as one of the voices is female and rather pissed, and ever since that asshole Sirius started messing with Pansy he's been rather on edge. He's surprised when he sees who it is-- it's that Lily girl, the rather uptight but rather nice girl who'd helped him out the other day, and some dude he recognized as Sirius' friend, though he couldn't recall a name. He watches the scene for a moment, because he trusts Lily can hold her own, but now she looks really damn pissed, and he feels the need to walk over, just in case. "Hey, is this dude bothering you?" he asked Lily, a frown on his face as he glanced between the two of them.

*shrugs* Potter should be used to it by now...

Lily falters a moment, having been so intent on glaring daggers at Potter (oh how she wishes her eyes were radioactive lasers, sometimes) that she's lost track of her surroundings and consequently the arrival of Caradoc is something of a surprise. She turns to look at him, for half a second confused as her brain catches up through the haze of rage, then shakes her head. "No, no - my stalker here is just leaving," she says pointedly, glaring coolly back at Potter with an expression that tells him in no uncertain terms that he has been dismissed.

James, already quite deflated by her raging description of what makes him such a terrible person, and disappointed by the fact that she hates him so much that it seems quite impossible for her to ever feel otherwise, shrugged half-heartedly. "I'm not your stalker, Evans, I just want a chance to know you is all. And yet you keep on hating me and though you've just shouted at me until your cheeks were red, I don't know why you hate me so much. Maybe you're right and I'm stupid, but it doesn't mean I'm quitting yet. One of these days, Evans, you'll come around." He was sure of it. I mean, they were going to make the baby that saved their world, after all. He glanced at the other guy who'd walked up. "This isn't really your place to interfere, but thanks for seeing if Evans needed some help ranting at me. I'm sure she'd love another opinion to agree with hers." James pouted a little, sad that Lily hated him so and sad that someone had come along to stick up for her, rather than to help defend him.

"Excuse me? I saw a friend of mine looking quite upset at your presence, yes, I felt the need to interfere, if you were causing her trouble, although I don't have any doubt she's perfectly capable of hexing you-- I'm assuming this'd be the stalker you've mentioned previously," he said, glancing at Lily. "I suggest you listen to the girl, and get out of here, don't delude yourself with thinking I won't laugh when she does hex you, because prefect or not, I somehow doubt she'll put up with your shit if you hang around much longer," he said, because apparently Grumpy!Rad is grumpy today.

"I will hex you," Lily says simply, still staring at Potter and hoping that at least with Caradoc here, he gets the message now and leaves her alone. "Because clearly words don't get through to you. Merlin, I've even told you I'm seeing someone else and still you insist that-" she breaks off, shaking her head and not even wanting to say it. She takes a deep breath and starts again. "I don't like you. It's not that difficult a concept to understand, I don't even know why you insist you like me - Merlin knows I've never given you a reason to! Now please just GO AWAY!" she says, breaking at the end because there's always been something about Potter that just makes her want to scream.

James scoffed at him. "Well if she's so capable, which I know for a fact that she is, why'd you even come over here? This wasn't your conversation, and your input really wasn't needed, but thanks anyway, for just jumping in where you weren't wanted or invited or needed at all. And Evans, you don't get it either. You don't see it and you probably never will but I'm just a stupid boy apparently and I don't learn and I don't give up. But sure, to oblige you two, I'll 'go away' now." He picked up his broom and slung it over his shoulder, still quite distraught by how this entire encounter had gone. Seeing Lily yell at him like that was quite upsetting, possibly moreso than if she'd just called him a half a dozen more names. He wouldn't admit it, but slowly he was losing hope of her ever seeing him as more than just dirt below her perfect footsteps. "I'll see you around, Evans." And with that, James left in rather a more sadpuppy mood than he was when he first started talking to her.

Lily throws up her hands as Potter leaves, her face flushed and her eyes still snapping. "I don't know what it takes," she mutters, feeling like she's tried everything to get Potter to leave her alone, and still he persists. A normal person would probably have stopped to consider that he really likes her by now, but Lily doesn't think that way. She still thinks that Potter is an arrogant toerag, and her strongest impression of him is still the years he's spent bullying her once best friend, and she's fairly certain the only reason he's still after her is that she keeps saying no - had she given in and said yes, surely he'd have lost interest after the first date, when the novelty of getting Evans to say yes has inevitably worn off. For the moment she seems to have forgotten Rad's presence, then she glances up at him and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "Sorry about that - just me, being the worst girl in the universe for daring to not like the great and powerful Potter. Apparently I should be falling over myself in gratitude that the boy who bullies people for laughs and stares at me like he has some divine right to me likes me," she says with bitter sarcasm. "Er, thanks for coming over here. See you around," Lily says, then storms off because she doesn't want to deal with people right now.

Caradoc blinks, and decides he doesn't understand any of Hogwart's straight dudes, because they're clearly all mad. He's also decided that his previously assumed irrational fear of redheaded women was actually rather well-founded, and he should just never mess with a ginger woman ever. Oh, and now he leaves, before he meets another angry redhead or something, they're dangerous and angsty, I say.

He's been avoiding being in the castle as much as he could. He sighed dramatically and stared up, but wasn't really looking at anything.

Viktor is walking along, not doing the Leo-Strut because he just doesn't do that. Sorry to disappoint. He sees Dean on the bench and walks right on up, stopping at Dean's feet to look down at him, trying not to glare too much, though he's not too pleased looking. "Dean," he greets without a smile. "I think you and I need to have a bit of a talk." Inner!Viktor is not feeling very violent today, so I don't think this is going to be too bad physically for Deano Beano.

Dean instantly tenses up when he hears Viktor speak. He sits up and nods. He speaks in a completely dead voice. "Viktor. I was wondering when I'd see you. I quite agree. We do need to talk." Dean hopes that eventually Viktor will end up using his fists, because Dean can't really physically beat himself up.

Although Dean knew what had happened, even though he didn't remember, hearing it repeated by Viktor made it seem much much worse. He swung his legs around on the bench and placed his elbows on his knees, then let his hand sink into his hands. "Yes. That is what happened. I know you won't believe me when I tell you how horrible I feel about it, but thinking about what happened makes me feel sick to my stomach."

[Dean is saying "Awww maaaaan." Now he has weird thoughts of the Black Lake and all the creatures down there...]

Viktor honestly doesn't like any of this. He really liked Dean up until now, so being mad at him isn't fun. "Actually...I do believe you. Everyvon makes mistakes. Vot I'm not okay vith, is how you handled it aftervard. I have no problem comforting Ang, but vare vere you the night after ven she vos upset and confused? Valking avay from the problem only made it vorse on her," he says calmly.

Dean felt close to tears. He could not cry though. Black guys did not cry, he wasn't about to break that rule in front of Viktor Krum. He kept his head in his hands. "I didn't know what else to do." He glanced over at Viktor. "She's been like a little sister to me for years now. Look at what I did. I've always tried to protect her from guys that would just use her, and look what I did!" He jumped up and started pacing back and forth. "I took complete advantage of her in my own depression. Even if I don't remember any of it happening, I still did it."
