Neville gave her a small wave, not really able to form words at the moment and then he just stood there in shock for a few hours after she left. After about 3 hours he walked back to his dorm, grinning like a loon.

Scorpius was walking out on the grounds when he suddenly froze. He spotted Rose sitting on a bench and he knew that he really ought to talk to her. As much as he wanted to run and hide from everything that happened, he knew he had to face the consequences of what he did. "Hi Rose," he said softly after walking over to her. "We err...we need to talk," he said delicately.

"Oh hey!" Rose brightened when she saw Scorpius, 'cause she hadn't seen him in a while. She noticed that he seemed apprehensive about something, so she closed her book and patted the space next to her on the bench. "Erm, okay, talk away."

Scorpius sat down hesitantly, trying to figure out the best way to phrase what he was going to say. "It's not you, I promise. I...I did something bad and I know that there just...there's no way we would be able to work through it," he said, staring down at the ground. "I fucked up big time Rose," he mumbled.

Rose frowned. "I'm sure you didn't do anything too horrible," she said, patting Scorp on the back awkwardly. "It's okay. What did you do?"

"No, it's bad," he said with a sigh. "I tried to change for you Rose, I really did. I care about you a lot...but...I think I tried too hard to become someone you wanted, when my heart really wasn't there. I...I slept with someone," he said, closing his eyes.

Rose couldn't stop the angry scowl that was crossing her face. "You slept with someone?" she growled. She clenched her fists and glared at him, not even needing or wanting to hear it again. He tried to change for me? she thought, And I was probably the only one that believed it. "Well, who was she!?"

"I know, it's bad," he muttered, opening his eyes and looking at Rose. He really did feel terrible, for he had put Rose through so much and in the end, he only ended up hurting her more than he had ever felt possible. "I....it's a he," he mumbled, knowing that this was only going to make things so much worse.

Rose's jaw dropped. "Oh, and that makes it so much better, Scorpius! Who was he? Please don't tell me it was Slughorn--I honestly can't take much more of this shit!" She stood up, not wanting to sit next to him anymore. Her short figure shook with silent rage as she turned her back towards him.

"I know, it's bad! It was never...I never thought..." he said, trying to form some sort of reply. "Rose, I don't think you want to know," he said hesitantly. "It's not Slughorn...but...you know the guy and I don't think it would help matters at all if I told you."

"NO!" he said loudly, his voice raising a bit at the thought of damage to once of his favourite parts of his body. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, then opened them slowly. "It's...Al," he said slowly, bracing himself for her reaction.

Rose lowered her foot to the ground slowly. It was worse than she could have imagined. "You... you slept with my cousin? YOU TWAT!" She screeched, smacking him across the face with all the strength she had. "That's... that's low, that's really bad. DID YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT HOW THAT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL? YOU BASICALLY TOOK MY VIRGINITY, AND YOU SAID I MEANT SOMETHING TO YOU, BUT I GUESS NOT, BECAUSE YOU WENT OFF AND SHAGGED MY COUSIN. OH, THIS IS JUST PERFECT! THE CHERRY ON TOP OF THIS GREAT DAY."

Scorpius figured that he completely deserved the slap, though his eyes still watered and he scrunched up his face after feeling her hand slap him. What he did was really, truly horrible and if physically hurting him made up for the emotional pain he caused her, then so be it. "I know," he said, completely ashamed not sure what else to say. He was afraid that saying too much would just make matters worse in the end. "I'm so sorry Rose," he said, slight desperation in his voice. "I never meant for it to happen, I really didn't."

"How did it happen, Scorp? Please enlighten me. I'm dying to know, because honestly, none of us Weasleys knew you were his type. My uncle is going to love this. Tell me, did Al sweep you off your feet?"

Scorpius flushed slightly when Rose began to mock him, for he was still coming to terms with the whole thing himself. The added teasing wasn't helping one bit. "Al told me that he had feelings for me," he said. "More than friendly feelings. I just...we...stuff then sort of happened a bit later. Rose, please don't tell anyone," he asked with a slightly desperate tone. "I know that I've fucked up royally and what I did to you was unbelievably cruel, but people knowing is only going to make things worse."

"I wasn't going to tell anyone," Rose said with a sigh. "Al's my family--I wouldn't do that to him, even if he did do stuff with you. Where is he, anyway? This must be why we haven't talked in a while. You're just ruining all my relationships, aren't you?"

He let out a very much relieved sigh when she said she wasn't going to be telling anyway. "I haven't seen him all week," he admitted. "Not since, well...stuff had happened. I really didn't mean for this to happen. I'm sorry Rose, I really am."

"I'm sure you are, but that doesn't change how hurt I feel. I guess I'll just have to deal with that somehow." Rose bit her lip and grabbed her book from the bench. "I think I'm just going to go now. I hope you and Al continue to have great 'stuff'. I'll see you in class." She stalked off towards Ravenclaw tower, still wondering how this could have happened.
