"Well, Thank you." She said and smiled at him. "Yeah, I should probably head over to the entrance hall soon." She said with a smile. "I don't want to show up late. If you don't mind I'd love some company." She said with a large smile.

Parvati smiled at him and grabbed onto his arm with a smile. "Let's go." She said grinning and started walking towards the entrance hall.

Ted gave her a hug when they reached the entrance hall, "Have fun, don't do anything you would normally do." He gave her a quick kiss to the cheek then headed off to the puff world.

Bea skipped into the courtyard humming merrily. She twirled around a few times and leapt lightly up onto the wall around a tree then plopped herself down to drag her toes in pretty imaginary patters across the stones.

Molly struts across the courtyard, heels clicking sharply against the stones in crisp, satisfying sounds. She's returning to Hogwarts after sneaking off to do some last minute Christmas shopping and greams as she spots Bea. "Hey, Bea," she chirps, stopping to join her. "Whatcha doin'?"

Bea's head pops up at the sound of someone's voice. "Oh. Hi Molly!" she chirps. "I'm not up to much. Just getting some fresh air. The castle is so quiet during the holidays. It makes it a bit boring," she said looking back down at her toes, which were still swirling across the ground. "What have you been up to?" she asked.

"OhmyGod, it's, like, so quiet," Molly agrees, taking a seat and admiring her shoes for the umpteenth time that day. "It's lucky it's actually, like, not too cold today. I've just been doing a bit more shopping to try and get everything totally ready so I can just bake tomorrow. It's weird how few people have stayed - some of the other years have been actually kinda busy around the break. Votever," she shrugs. "Got all your shopping and stuff done? Diagon Alley was a mad house!"

Bea nodded along as Molly jabbered away in response to her question. Funny, Bea's usually the one jabbering away. "I bet it was," she replied to Mol's comment about Diagon Alley. "I don't really go shopping for Christmas though. I like making things or doing things for people," she explained. "Wait. Did you say you were going to be doing some baking tomorrow?" she asked, now perkier than she had been moments before. "I was planning on doing some baking too. What kinds of things do you like to bake?" she asked curiously.

Mya imagines Bea and Mol in a babbling contest and giggles to herself. Molly greams. "I like making stuff too, but usually it's the Christmas feast I'm coming up with! Which is actually what I'm doing tomorrow - my brother's girlfriend is staying here for the holidays because her sister was, like, a total bitch to her, so Gid's staying too. And because it's, like, tradition for me and him to spend Christmas together I'm staying as well. And so is my boyfriend and a couple of other friends so I'm, like, doing my usual Christmas dinner for them because I gotta be honest, it's totally better than the Hogwarts one," she smirks. "Anyway, tomorrow I'm baking desserts. Pumpkin pie, I think for sure, and I don't know what else yet. What are you baking?"

[-headdesks- Sorry I disappeared on you. I got distracted by cleaning.]

"Ooh. That sounds complicated, but fun. I'm not much for regular old cooking, but I love baking. My sister and I make these cookies with little peanut butter and chocolate cups in the centre of them and they are delicious! I don't know what exactly I'm planning on baking. I like to be spontaneous about it since the kitchens are usually stocked with anything I need," Bea said. She sat in the silence for a moment then her eyes lit up with an idea. "Hey. We could bake together! The kitchens are plenty big enough for more than one project. Or I can help you with your desserts if you'd like," she suggested excitedly.

[S'ok! I had to go not long after anyway, and I've only just gotten back for the day. XD]

Molly's eyes widen and she tries not to drool. "I am, like, totally going to have to try that sometime! Sounds, like, so delicious! Hmm... your sister is in Ravenclaw, right? Anyway," Molly says, greaming and waving a hand, "I think it would be, like, so cool if we baked together sometime. I had the most fun ever baking a chocolate cake with my boyfriend a couple of weeks back! I totally have to warn you, though, I'm kind of a Kitchen Nazi. Like, in Molly's Kitchen, what Molly says, goes," she warns. "Byproduct of culinarily retarded parents and siblings just as bad. Well, Gid's alright if I'm supervising, but Alice and Fabian, whoa..."

"Uh," Bea put a finger up, "technically it would be the school's kitchen, but I guess I get what you mean. People who don't know how to bake can really make a mess of things. Most of my family is pretty apt at baking, but my dad is never allowed to get involved. He's too creative and forgetful for baking, so he sticks to cooking." She grinned, "This sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. I haven't really done much with anyone but my sister this year. A few nice conversations here and there, but nothing wild or exciting." She pouted for a moment then moved on. "Who did you say your boyfriend was? Or did you? I don't recall."

"Pfft," Molly says lightly, waving a dismissive hand at the concept of any kitchen not being hers. Mya often tries to tell her that she cannot own school space, but she doesn't seem to get the picture. Kitchen = Molly's Domain. Mya wishes Molly would get her butt into her kitchen and whip something up once in a while. "My family is, like, disastrous with food preparation in all forms, I'm just the lucky one because the skills, like, passed on to me from my Grandma or something. She was absolutely the most brilliant baker ever. Well, before me," she shrugs. Her whole face brightens up when Bea asks about her boyfriend. "Um, I don't know if I did? We haven't been together all that long, really. We, like, didn't get off to the best start," she giggles. "His name's Kingsley. He's in Gryff like me, but he's in my brothers' year. He's, like, super smart and stuff, he's going to work for the Ministry," she says proudly.

Bea stared- not impolitely, just interestedly- at Molly as she continued talking about her family and their inability to bake and then her grandmother's skill. She managed to squeeze in an "interesting" before Molly continued on. "I don't know him," she replied once Molly had finished speaking. "I really only know two Gryffindors: you and Viktor. He sounds like a great guy and he must be really lucky to have you as a girlfriend," she said.

[Ok! We can round this off in a couple of posts if that suits you. XD]

Molly greams. "Viktor is, like, my BFF! He shares a dorm with Kingsley, and some other guy named Hugo. He's, like, super friendly and likes to read. Kingsley likes to read, too. But he's, like, more all stoic and intimidating and stuff," she says, wide eyed and nodding, smiling in pleasure as Bea comments on how lucky Kingsley must be to have her. She likes being appreciated. "I'm, like, surprised I know a few Puffs actually - there's totally not many of you, are there? But I know you, and Rad, and Viktor's friend from Bulgaria - Kras. Oh, and Ted Tonks and I baked together one time! We raised an army of apple pies that could take over the world," she giggles. "You'll totally have to join us for that sometime!"

[That sounds good.]

Bea laughed. "I hardly know any Puffs and I'm in that house. Or... maybe I just know everyone and can't grasp how few of us there are. It really is a small number," she admitted, making a face. "I just met Ted the other day and I met Rad once. He was... interesting," she said. "And I think we only have a few other housem- Did you say an army of apple pies?" she asked, rhetorically of course so she didn't wait for any answer. "That sounds amazing! And hilarious though I wouldn't want to the one being taken over. We should all have an epic baking party when people are back from holiday," she said. "Oh, it'd be lovely. Flour everywhere and warm ovens and amazing smells!" she babbled on, her eyes glazing over as she imagined it. "Doesn't that sound fun?"

Molly giggles at Bea's description of Rad, but then Bea is talking about having a baking party and Molly's eyes are glazing over as she imagines it and goes into a sort of happy baking thought coma. Blinking, she comes back to reality. "OhmyGod it would be, like, heaven," she breathes. "I bet we could totally get a few people together for that, too. I know a lot of guys around here who like to bake, and I can, like, totally introduce you to them," she offers with a grin. Then she realises the changed position of the sun in the sky because I guess if it was night they'd have frozen by now, and she gasps, leaping to her feet. "Oh crap! I've totally been messing about for way too long! OhmyGod, I haven't even, like, checked on the centrepieces for Christmas dinner or anything yet! I've got to run, Bea! I'm, like, totally looking forwards to seeing you in the kitchens!" she says with a big grin.

"Oh," Bea looks around and noticed the sun setting. "I better get inside too," she said, but she's going somewhere else so she'll use a different entrance to the castle. "I'll see you around!" she called as the other girl hurried off. With that, she pitter pattered her way out of the courtyard and back to Hufflepuff tower.

Post  Gideon Prewett January 3rd 2011, 11:36 am

Gideon wanders out from the Christmas Feast into the grounds, Lily by his side. The snow has only just stopped falling, and it coats everything in sight with a thick layer of the gorgeous white powder. He moves so that he is standing in a patch of light left by one of the large Hogwarts windows, and sighs as he looks around at the snow. "It's pretty, isn't it? An awesome way to end Christmas." He says softly.

Post  Lily Evans January 3rd 2011, 11:45 am

Lily, her face flushed with a slight rosy pink from the combination of the wine she drank with dinner and the cold air, looks admiringly around at the snow-covered grounds. It may not be home, but it's a gorgeous Christmas backdrop, and Lily thinks it's shaping up to be one of her favourite Christmases of recent years. She draws closer to Gideon, snuggling into her cloak. "Look at you, getting all sentimental," she murmurs affectionately, a little smile on her face.

Gideon wraps his arms around Lily, smirking a little. "Sentimental, me? Am I not allowed to appreciate the view? And trust me, it's a great view." He grins. "I can't help that it's been a great day, you know. How was it from, your perspective, though? How are you doing?" He flicks his head, sending his hair back into place as he looks around at the snow.

"Just making an observation," Lily says, then smirks ever so slightly herself. "It is a good view," she agrees, watching him flip his hair back into place. "And my day has been good. Really good, actually. I don't feel like I actually missed out on anything, and I most definitely wasn't alone, so thanks," she says, her voice hushed as if she doesn't want to break the stillness of the early evening. Moving to take Gideon's hand in her own gloved hand, she takes a few steps across the courtyard, the snow crunching beneath her boots as each step reveals more of the Hogwarts grounds to her eyes.
