Re: Hospital Wing

At some point in the night, Luna was told to go back to her common room and was given many many thanks and a box of chocolate frogs to make her feel better. Pansy's body was moved to a more secluded corner of the room, curtains drawn shut around the bed. They would have to leave her there until her parents could be reached and notified, at which time they could take her away and bury her properly. Draco was left alone, sleeping in one of the beds.

Early morning light shone in from the window onto Pansy’s still face. Her eyelids quivered. In a moment, her eyes were wide open and she was awake. Pansy immediately sprang upward in her bed, reaching out desperately for her wand which she was glad to find on the stand by her bed. “What – where is she – where’d Dee…” Wand in hand, she looked around, confused to find herself in the hospital wing with the curtain pulled around her. Her heart was pounding wildly, but upon seeing no one around her trying to kill her, she lowered her wand. Odd. Pansy turned and slid out of the bed, falling clumsily to a heap in the floor as her legs refused to support her weight. Using the bed, she pulled her self upward and pushed the curtain carefully aside to peek out. Draco? She took a few tentative steps forward, making her legs work again, before crossing the room to look down at his sleeping form. Why's he here? It didn't even occur to her at the moment that she should not be walking about now, as generally, people who had been Avada Kedavra'd did not tend to do so.

Geoge walked into the hospital wing, not ready to believe that the cruelest bitch in school was actually dead. When he saw her standing up next to Draco he freaked out. "WHAAAAAT?! Pansy? How many times does Dee have to kill you?"

She had been so intent on staring at Draco's sleeping face that she didn't notice someone come in until they spoke to her. She glanced up and saw George looking quite shocked and couldn't help but laugh. "Wait, Dee killed me? She actually finally did it, then? Who knew she had it in her..." Pansy was thoroughly confused, as she did not remember dying and knew that despite the fact that she went to a school of magic, dead people did not usually just wake up in the morning.

Well that's just.. not normal. What am I doing walking around? Wait, Dee said something about horcruxes, didn't she? Maybe that had something to do with it. "Uh, honestly I'm not sure. Didn't think you could get rid of me that easy, did you?" she smirked. "Er, d'you know anything about horcruxes, George?"

"It's not because I'm going to make some, idiot." Pansy rolled her eyes and sat down on the edge of Draco's bed, her legs starting to feel weak again. "I just think they're the reason I'm still alive."

"Yeah, obviously. I'm just not sure how, exactly. I mean, you said I was dead before, right? And people saw me dead, and obviously I was stuck back there in a bed behind a curtain where no one would see me dead, so I must have been. It just doesn't make sense." She was talking mostly to herself, trying to work out how this had happened. If she was dead like George said, why was she sitting here talking to him? And Horcruxes, how did they work? She didn't have any to save her life... she just was one. But she'd been hit with Avada Kedavra, so she should still just be dead. How did this even happen? "So you really don't know anything about horcruxes, Weasley?"

Pansy thought for a minute, trying to remember. "Well, I didn't even really realize I was dead, actually. It was like I was just sitting, waiting at a bus stop." She shrugged. "And there was a bolar there. Creepy thing." Pansy narrowed her eyes at the memory. She'd never really liked bolars much. "It was like a dream, only, a really realistic one. The ones where you wake up and feel like it really happened. Except, I guess I did wake up after it really happened, this time. I just wish I knew what it was."

It was too much too soon. Pansy was worn out. "Well, just because you're dead, doesn't mean you get rest. I'm taking a nap. Catch you later, Weasley." She stood up with a last glance at Draco, who was still asleep, before she headed back to the bed in the corner. With a second thought, she didn't want to be far from him when he woke. She headed back toward him and chose the bed beside him, climbing beneath the sheets and closing her eyes. Sleep would not come, so she rolled over and looked at Draco, watching his chest rising and falling slowly with every breath.

Draco slowly blinked and saw Pansy next to him. He rolled off the bed in shock. "PANSY!??!?!?!! WHA- BU- YOU'RE DEAD..."

Pansy smirked at him, but didn't risk standing up again yet. She didn't want to collapse in the floor if her legs wouldn't hold her up. "Um, apparently I'm not."

Pansy slowly sat up in bed, leaning against the pillows. "Draco, why wouldn't I be real? I'm sitting here talking to you, aren't I?" As he backed up, she reached a hand out toward him.
