She looked around them and then looked back to him. "Come on. Nobody is around. Just tell me a little."

She laughed and smiled. "That's so cool. So are all your inventions like that?"

"That's cool." She leaned against the tree and sighed and looked off into the lake.

She smiled at him and began to stand up. "Well, I really should I get going. It was really nice meeting you." He said as she stood up.

"Yeah I should be going too. I've got inventions waiting. It was nice to meet you too." Anthony said as he stood up and walked up to the castle.

Re: Under a Random Tree
Albus makes his way outside from the castle, intent on getting some fresh air. He is tempted to pull out his knitting, but decides to hold off on continuing his sweater because it looks as though it may rain soon and he would hate for his knitting to get ruined. Instead, he sits by himself underneath a tree and looks out at the calm and peaceful lake.

Re: Under a Random Tree
Gellert, walking by, sees a vaguely familiar man sitting, peacefully, under a tree. He takes a step forward, trying to place him - doesn't realize that he's standing so close until the other man looks up. "Hey," he says, cooly, more in the direction of the lake than the man.

Re: Under a Random Tree
Albus' head snaps up when he spots a man walking close to where he is sitting. He feels his heart lurch for a moment when he realizes who it is. "Gellert," he breathes out quietly to himself as Grindelwald moves closer to where he sits. His body sits frozen in shock at seeing the one person who has always held his attention more than others. He is momentarily surprised as Gellert doesn't seem to recall who he is. "Hey," he says quietly in response, the cool and aloof attention hurting him even more.

Re: Under a Random Tree
He cocked his head to the side, running a hand through his hair as his name came so quickly to other man's lips - he was used to this, at Durmstrang, but - yes, Albus, that was his name. Albus Dumbledore. They had met, briefly, somewhere, he surveyed the other, trying to remember. "Albus, right?" he asked, inclining his head, slightly, as if to say and so we meet again.

Re: Under a Random Tree
His gaze remains on Gellert for a moment, until he finds himself wishing he could vanish on the spot. Apparently he hadn't left the same impression on the man as Gellert had on Albus. "Yes, Albus," he answers after a moment, then glancing back out at the lake. Silence fills the space between them, until he find he cannot take it anymore. "I'm surprised that you're at Hogwarts. Last I heard, you were doing fairly well at Durmstrang."

Re: Under a Random Tree
He inclines his head, as if accepting all that Albus had said as true - but also studying the other man, running over his handsome face with his piercing eyes. He was attractive, blonde haired, blue eyed, but had the opposite of Gellert's bad boy look - although something in his eyes told Gellert that he was wise beyond his years. "I left, actually," he says, quietly, but with a hint of pride, taking care not to mention that he had gotten kicked out - there was something in Albus' aura that told Gellert that he wouldn't appreciate that, "for my last year, I thought that there was more to learn here," he says, running a hand through his hair.

Re: Under a Random Tree
Albus looks at Gellert curiously while thinking, more at Hogwarts? "I suppose... that some aspects of the school make it better than Durmstrang, such as the size and some of the classes. Perhaps it is also good to get away from Durmstrang's emphasis on the Dark Arts. I can't imagine that being a good reputation to have following an individual around. Though, it is the choices we make..." he murmurs then breaks off. He can't help but look at Gellert. Albus is undeniably drawn to him, as he has been since the first time they had met. His looks, his personality, the words uttered from his mouth. He breaks his gaze quickly, hoping that the growing admiration that he is beginning to feel does not become obvious.

Re: Under a Random Tree
Gellert eyes Albus in silence for a few, long moments, holding his gaze - Albus' eyes were a piercing blue as well, but they were a little lighter than his own. "I thought it was...dangerous...for me, there. I've always been drawn to the Dark Arts - and I have a past - and a present - and I didn't want anyone to get hurt." He clicks his tongue stud against the roof of his mouth - "I had a posse. I had friends, teachers who loved me, and people who feared me. I would never say I'd learned all there was to know, but I wanted to be somewhere that would be a challenge. That wouldn't just be everything that I was used to," he says, slowly, keeping the arrogance out of his voice.

Re: Under a Random Tree
His curiosity does not diminish as Gellert continues to talk. His gaze sweeps over Gellert's body, unable to stop his eyes from wandering over the slender form of the man who had always held a part of his attention. He finds himself shifting slightly when he mentions his interest in the Dark Arts, for Albus finds himself to quite the opposite. "I like Defense," he finds himself muttering before he can stop himself. He glances over at Gellert once more then asks, "why the Dark Arts? Any particular reason you would be interested in them? What good would they serve?"

Re: Under a Random Tree
The corner of Gellert's mouth twitched at Albus' question - he had not pegged the other as one to underestimate the value of the Dark Arts, and yet he gave off an aura that was so undeniably good - Gellert was intrigued. His voice was calm, but undeniably passionate as he spoke. "The Dark Arts," he said, quietly, "need to be understood to be defeated - they are the thing which kills, which harms, which hurts - and if we spare them no mind then how will we - permit the use of such stereotypes - find the light? I don't know, they intrigue me - no end to taboo that you can twist any way to please unique interpretations."

Re: Under a Random Tree
"I suppose I can understand that," he murmurs in response while looking out at the lake. "It's only, forgive me if I am wrong, what if you get too seduced by the Dark Arts? What if one becomes too far engaged where they are unable to eventually find said light?" He looks back at Gellert, studying the man's handsome face carefully. "What if you become too far engaged and your soul is thus ruined and damaged forever? Is there even anything that could ultimately defeat the Dark Arts?"

Re: Under a Random Tree
He raises his eyebrows - unsure of whether to laugh at Albus or seize the topic gratefully. "It's possible, I'll grant you that, yes, there are a million possibilities; things that might go wrong. The study of the Dark Arts - for those people who mean no harm with them - isn't for the...faint of heart. I think that there are few people like that - because to be like that you have to want more than anything to know, to prevent all the what ifs in order to seize possibility. And I don't of anything that will defeat - if somebody did, I'm sure that we would all know - but I know of...things. Ways to prevent death, or harm, or hurt - and ways to inflict. I don't claim to be wise - I'm only seventeen - but I hope that one day I will be - and wisdom comes only to those who know and do not do."

Re: Under a Random Tree
Albus muses carefully over what Gellert says. Ways to prevent death? But surely, if such things existed, everyone would wish to acquire and maintain that kind of power. He thinks for a moment, trying to recall from all his readings and knowledge what Gellert could be referring to. One thing comes to mind, but surely...no. That was just legend. They didn't exist. "You claim that there are ways to prevent death," he says, voicing his thoughts when he finds that he is unable to come up with an explanation on his own. "What do you mean?"

Re: Under a Random Tree
"I'm not sure of it- no, I don't think anyone's sure of it- at this point, it's more of the foggy realm of guesswork. There are," his voice was delicate, protected: he didn't wish to reveal his secrets- Gellert worked alone, and he trusted nobody, "myths, stories, clues- that suggest a way to immortality. Three that I know of, in fact- two besides the Sorcerer's Stone. A man in a million," he says, his voice low, "is fit for immortality- but this-this means- of immortality comes with other...powers." He absentmindedly flips his hair, looking not at Albus but straight ahead, "Of course, none of this is solid- all guess work, beliefs."
