"Ah," Lily says in understanding. "No, it's not weird. The closest thing to a guy in my world can't seem to fathom the concept that I'd rather date the giant squid than him - that's weird. Not minding when someone blushes is just polite I suppose."

Polly giggles. "Ze giant squid? You must really not be able to stand 'im!" She wonders how, whoever this guy is, he couldn't figure out Lily's disinterest by hearing that statement.

If you're into arrogant, ego-maniac toerags who make a nervous tick out of ruffling their hair and generally doing their best to contribute to the degeneration of the generation. Oh, don't forget deaf - because clearly he did not hear any of the thousand and fifty six times I turned him down."

Polly covered her mouth, giggling. "Sounds like a real charmer. And 'e may need to get 'is ears checked!" She shook her head. "I don't get eet. Guys and zey're 'air! Gideon won't even let me touch 'is 'air! I did once and 'e ran off to go fix eet. 'e's worse zan a girl!"

Lily giggles too. "They're all such prats about their hair! Really - is there even a point to putting all that effort into getting it right if he isn't letting anyone touch it? What a waste. I'm sure if you did that, though, he'd never let you live it down!

"Probably not. Eet's ridiculous. Really." She shakes her head. "We're going to go swimming at some point. 'is 'air will 'ave to get messed up. Zen I'll get 'im." She giggles, already plotting. "Does zis boy of yours flip 'is 'air too? Gideon and 'is bruzzer both do zat a lot. Eet's like...a contest or somezing for zem."

Lily scoffs and holds up a hand. "First of all, this guy is not 'my boy'. If he's my anything, it's 'bane of my existence'. And he's not a flipper, he's a ruffler. Always running his hands through his hair as if that 'just got off my broomstick' look from second year is still in fashion. I like the way you think, though - once his hair's wet, the damage is done, right?" she grins.

"Oui!" Polly grinned wickedly. "'e doesn't stand a chance." She giggle lightly. "Ruffler, huh? What a strange look zat must be. Let me guess, you 'ave suggested a comb on more zan one occasion? Or just shaving 'is 'ead?"

"Or a bag over his head," Lily says offhandedly, a bit of a sparkle in her emerald eyes. "Plastic, tied up tight around here," she says, indicating her throat as a reference point.

Polly giggled again. "Zat sounds like a brilliant idea to me." She definitely hopes to never get on Lily's bad side. And she's really starting to wonder why this boy hasn't just given up already. It was definitely rather clear that she wasn't interested.

Lily gives a wicked smile in response, before giggling a little herself. "So your guy is a flipper, hmm? Can't say I've really known any flippers before. That must be something to see - like a Pantene commercial?"

Polly giggles. "Eet's ridiculous." She gives Lily a questioning look. "What's a 'Pantene commercial'? I'm assuming eet is somezing for 'air?" Amethyst thinks it'd be funny if Lily ended up demonstrating a Pantene commercial to Polly.

Lily snorts. "Right, sorry, Muggle reference. Here, allow me to demonstrate." She performs the most exaggerated, yet still somehow just a little but awesome, hair flip. "A bit like that. Well, I assume so - I can't say I've ever really flipped my hair before."

Lily laughs. "Thanks. I'll add 'pretty good hair flipper' to my resume." She checks her watch and wrinkles her nose slightly. "Time to go Apolline, sorry. I've got my study schedule to keep up with. It was nice to meet you though."

Gideon was walking past, when he saw Polly, bent over to tie her shoe. A michevious grin swept over his face as he snuck up behind her. Unlike that one time in the Owlery, he succeeded sneaking up behind her, and he picked her up by her waist and spun her quickly around in a circle. As he put her down, he spun her to face him. "Hey babe." He said softly.

Polly squealed when she found herself suddenly being picked up by the waist and spun around. She was totally ready to hex the daylights out of whoever was responsible but then she saw it was Gideon and she glared playfully at him. "You're terrible you know that?" She couldn't even stay remotely angry at him for long, she hugged him tightly. "I've missed you."

Gideon hugged her back just as tightly. "I've missed you too! And I am terrible - terribly handsome," he smirked at Polly. "Where on Earth have you been?" He let his hand reach up gently to stroke her face. He missed her so so so much - almost as much as AJ missed Amethyst.

Polly grinned. As usual Gideon was full of himself, even if what he said was rather true, in her opinion. "Library, and outside. Eizzer studying or running, mainly." Her face reddened slightly as his hand stroked her face. She'd missed him a lot, definitely not as much as Amethyst missed AJ but still a lot.

Gideon smirked back at her - he was nothing if not full of himself. He watched her go all Quaffley again with amusement, as for a moment he had thought that maybe he would actually get to have a whole conversation with her face a normal colour. What was he thinking?! "Aw, you're all red again! It was nice to see your face a normal colour for a while there." He continued to smirk at her, his hand moving slowly down her side to hold her hand instead.

Polly stuck her tongue out at him and turned her back to him, with a very nice Pantene commercial hairflip that would make Lily proud. Of course, she was mostly just doing it to get her hair out of her face. "One of zese days I'll get zat under control and zen you'll miss my red face." She was grinning though.
