Regulus sighed and buried his face in his hands. "I wish I'd put more thought into this when we first started dating. Back then it was okay, I never thought it would interfere with my family, we hid our relationship, told only a few people. But then things got serious, and I just didn't care anymore, I guess. I did some really bad things, had some really bad stuff happen, and after that, Viktor seemed like he was so much more important than anything else. But now, I just- I just don't know anymore. I'm starting to wonder if maybe- just maybe- I shouldn't walk away just yet. But I don't know what Viktor would say, if I told him I couldn't openly be with him anymore, that we'd have to go back to hiding it, for the sake of keeping my family and my place as heir. He's not like us, he doesn't understand what it means to be a pureblood. I don't even know if he is, honestly. I didn't want to ask."

"You didn't ask!? So he's a Mudblood for all you know," he says, sounding somewhat revolted. "No. No, I think I would have known that actually. Surely there would have been articles about it if he was, unless he's hiding it from them," he said, sounding a bit more relaxed. "He's Viktor Fucking Krum. There's no way a Mudblood could do the things he's done. To ride a broom like that. Is he really that bad about muggles? How does he not understand how important your family is. Surely you've told him all about them. Honestly, I think you're making a good decision by waiting. A lot of people wish they were like us, Regulus. You don't want to give all of this up just yet."

"Lucius, his views are the same as those of Sirius. They're best friends for a reason. His close friend is Hermione Granger, she's a mudblood. I didn't even know, when I first met her. The day I found out I think I nearly fell off my chair in shock, you can't always tell, so I guess- I don't know. I'm still not sure I want to know. Perhaps it would be better if I didn't- could I still love him the way I do, if he was a half blood? He can't be a mudblood, I remember him talking about his childhood enough to know that. But yeah, I've told him about my family- he... he doesn't approve. He- I don't think he respects my family. At all. Not our beliefs, or our history."

"Isn't that rather important in a relationship? That he respects your family. Not too long ago I believe you were just like them, am I right? Before you met Viktor. Does that mean that he doesn't respect you? I know you love him, Regulus, but you need to do what's best for you. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't know if I really like him at all. He doesn't respect the Black family, so he doesn't respect my family. He's friends with Mudbloods and extremely close with someone that you and I both hate. And as sad as it is, love isn't always a mutual feeling. You always tell me how amazing he is, and how much he means to you. Are you sure that he feels the same way about you, Regulus?"

"He does respect me- he just doesn't agree with me, and we avoid the subject of blood altogether, because it never ends well, when we discuss it. He can't change my mind and I can't change his, but he's never exactly insulted me for my views," he said before he was stunned into silence by the last question. He looked up at Lucius with a hollow expression, his face wrought with worry and fear. "Of course he does. He does. After all he's done for me, the things he's endured with me- he wouldn't do any of it, if he didn't love me. No matter how many times I failed him, he always forgave me. Always. Someone who didn't love me the way I love him would never stand by my side for so long, and through so much."

Lucius sighs and looks down at the ground, running his fingers through his hair before looking back at Regulus. "Well then, I guess it's settled. You two love each other, and want to do the forever and always thing. I just hope you're right, Reg. I like you, and I don't want to see you get hurt, and I most certainly don't want to see you lose your family over a decision like this. I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting yourself into. If it's really what you want then I won't stop you."

Regulus grew uneasy once more, looking up at Lucius with questioning eyes. What makes you believe you could stop me if you wanted to? I hardly know you, why would I be so easily swayed? You don't know me. He stared up at the sky for a moment before turning his gaze back to his newfound friend. "I don't know what I want, not anymore. I suppose- I suppose I need to do a lot more thinking. Thank you, Lucius- for listening, and for your advice. I value it," he said with a genuine smile.

Lucius returns the smile, glad that he's convinced Regulus to at least think this all over before jumping to decisions like he would have done without Lucius. "Anytime, Regulus. I'm glad you're taking my advice, and not making decisions like these without really thinking them over. Just remember, you can tell me anything," he says with a sly smile, knowing that Viktor wouldn't approve of this friendship which makes it all the more fun.

And if Regulus actually hugged his friends he probably would have hugged Lucius, but Eowyn doesn't think he's ever hugged anyone besides Viktor and Cissa, at least IC. Whoa. Sirius makes up for that, he likes hugs a lot. Instead, he just stood up, feeling a lot better now that he'd had the opportunity to confide in someone. "I appreciate that. A lot," he said happily. "But I should get going, I think. Get a new shirt, for one thing," he said with a laugh. "I'll see you later, Lucius," he said, waving goodbye before leaving.

Lucius is glad that Regulus is not a hugger because if Lucius got a hug from Regulus he'd probably become very stiff, and not the good stiff either. The awkward 'OMG What are you doing to me oh is this one of those hug things?' kind of stiff. "See you around, Regulus," he said with a smile before taking his pimp cane and going back to his dorm to brush his hair.
