A Cluster of Birches
Fred ducked under some of the lower hanging branches and into the small clearing surrounded by silver birch trees. "So this is it," he said, sweeping his arm across the view.

Re: A Cluster of Birches
"Yeah, George and I used to come here and plan stuff before we found the headquarters." He looks around to make sure there isn't any residue or anything left over.

[Be back in a bit. Dinner.]
Dee plops down onto the ground, pulling him with her. "So..."

[Psh. Dinner. ... Fine. -waits impatiently-]
Fred plopped down beside her. "So?" he repeated, not sure what to talk about.

[Back.]
"I heard one of the Weasleys pranked the marauders." She glances toward him, looking at his hair. He had cute hair.

[Yay! -does happy dance-]
"Really?" Fred asked, surprised. He hadn't done anything. Had George started pranking them without him? He'd have to talk to him about that. "Well, it wasn't me."

"That's odd." Dee pulls her bag onto her lap. "By the way, hide this in Ron's bed for me." It's a bolar stuffed animal.
Re: A Cluster of Birches
"Gladly," Fred replied, with a grin. Pointing his wand at the bolar stuffed animal, he muttered reducio and stuck it into his pocket. "So what have you been up to lately?" he asked.

Re: A Cluster of Birches
Fred gazed at her face, lit by the sun and dappled with the shadows of the branches swaying in the light breeze. She was so pretty. "Ah. There's been quite a bit of drama in our common room lately. Sirius (at least I think it was Sirius) pulled a prank on Dean and framed me and George," he said.

"Sounds like something he would do." She turns her gaze from the clouds to his eyes. They were dazzling.
Re: A Cluster of Birches
Fred's eyes flicked to the ground, feeling slightly guilty for staring at her. "Yeah, it does. And I haven't seen George all day, so I can't even plan a revenge prank on him," he replied, now picking apart a little flower he had plucked out of the grass.

"Oh. I'm sorry." Dee pulled her gaze away and turned back to the clouds, glaring at them as if she blamed them for her lack of interesting things to say.

Re: A Cluster of Birches
Dee's vision turned black, her ears roaring. She sat there, staring blankly at nothing.
Re: A Cluster of Birches
Fred noticed something different about Dee. He looked at her face and noticed she seemed to be staring into space. "Dee," he called. No response. "Dee?" he repeated a little worried. He took her hand and squeezed it, but she wouldn't even look at him. What was going on?
[Continue to stare for a bit. I have something figured out.]

Re: A Cluster of Birches
Dee didn't feel his touch, and she didn't hear his voice. All she could experience was fire, flames, and smoke.
Re: A Cluster of Birches
"Dee!" Fred exclaimed a little louder. He had no idea what was happening. He was now kneeling next to her. Shaking her; calling her name; poking, prodding, pinching her. None of it had worked to get her attention back. Now frantic, an idea popped into his head and he acted on it with out thinking. Putting both hands on the sides of her face, he kissed her. Not anything gross, but he held it out for about a quarter of a minute. When he pulled back, Dee hadn't reacted. Fred was in a terrible state by now and didn't know what to do, so he resorted to merely hugging her tightly, hoping it would be over soon.

Re: A Cluster of Birches
Suddenly, Dee pulled through, and could see again, hear again. She gasped. "Fred?"
Re: A Cluster of Birches
Fred's head jerked up. "Dee?" he whispered. He shook his head and blinked away the moisture that had come into his eyes. "What just happened?" he asked quietly, unwrapping his arms from her, and taking her hand instead.

Re: A Cluster of Birches
"Nothing. It's not important." Dee didn't want to tell him about her Inner Eye, afraid he'd think she was crazy. "I'm fine." She squeezes his hand.
Re: A Cluster of Birches
Fred jerked his hand out of hers and jumped up. "You weren't fine for the last five minutes!" he yelled. She had scared the hell out of him and he wasn't going to let her get away with "I'm fine." "What just happened?" he repeated, not longer yelling, but still agitated. "I want a real answer."

Re: A Cluster of Birches
Dee was close to tears. "It's not really your business!" She stood up, and started to stalk away. She couldn't bear to leave, but she wasn't going to explain how she was insane to Fred Weasley. "Seriously, I'm great."
