Fred caught up with her in a few strides of his long legs. "Dee," he said more quietly, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I'm not trying to pry. Really. I just. Merlin, you scared the hell out of me," he said, hoping she would explain to him.

"It's complicated." She starts to walk off again, scared. She looked at his hand on her shoulder, and freaked out inside, because he seemed to really care.

Fred put his other hand on her shoulder. "I can deal with complicated," he said from behind her. He just wanted to understand what had happened. He wanted to make sure it wasn't something horrible like he was thinking.

Dee sighs. "I'm a Seer, but a different kind of Seer. I took some drugs, and I got messed up. The drugs screwed up my Eye, so now I see visions all the time. Not rarely like most Seers. And I feel it. If I watch someone drown, it's like I'm there, drowning with them." she doesn't meet his eyes.

Fred was silent for a few moments, his hands still resting on her shoulders. Then he pulled her into a hug from the back and replied quietly. "That sounds terrible. And this happens often?" he asked.

"Every day." She turns around, making sure his arms were still around her, and looked into his eyes. "And it's never good stuff."

Fred's face was contorted with sympathy. He could only imagine what she went through. And she never showed it. "I'm so sorry," he said even though he knew it wasn't his fault. He hugged her again, pulling her close, wishing that his pounding heart would slow down.

Dee's heart was pounding, as well as her head. "Major headache..." She sits down. "How long was I out, and how did you try and wake me up?"

Fred sat down in the grass with her. "About five minutes," he replied. "I tried practically everything. I called your name, shook you, and-" he paused, "even kissed you," he finished quietly. "I was so worried."

"Really? That long?" That as much longer than usual. The time span was mostly around three minutes. She turns toward him as she hears his last remark. "You did?" This shocked her.

Fred looked at Dee and wanted to be close to her. To hug her and tell her she'd be fine and that they'd figure out a way to get rid of the visions. Instead, he pulled his legs up to his chest and hugged them. "Erm, yeah, I did," he replied and nodded.

[Totally going to ignore the lateness and pretend that night never happened in their little clearing, by the way.]

Dee stayed silent, extremely ecstatic, but also shocked. She glanced up at him.

[Sorry, I had lax and the volleyball game and dinner.]

[That's fine. What's lax? Just curious. Good thing I'm not a cat.]

Fred smiled back at her tentatively, wondering what was going through her head at the moment. "Penny for your thoughts," he said, feeling a bit cliché.

"You," she answered shyly. But it was the truth, no denying that. She snuck a peek at him out of the corner of her eye. He was hot with his hair falling into his gorgeous eyes. He had this amazing personality and he was more than she deserved.

[Got it. It sounded familiar, but I'm not a sports person in any way so...]

"Really?" he replied with a cocky grin put out as a facade for his actual feeling. He was used to responding to nearly everything with a touch of humor, but somehow this situation was different. He didn't want something silly he said to be misconstrued, but hiding behind his jokes was what he did best.

"Yes, really." How much she loved his smile could not be measured. She leaned a little forward, smiling sweetly. "Because I really do like you..."

Dee scaled a nearby tree, and perched on a high branch.

Fred walked into the little clearing within the trees and lay down in the grass. He propped his hands behind his head and closed his eyes, liking the feeling of the sun on his face.

[Dee can sneak up on him if she wants.]

Dee sees Fred in the center of the clearing. She silently hops out of the tree and sneaks over to him. She sits down on his stomach. "Hi there."

Fred's eyes jerked open as something heavy landed on his stomach. He looked up and saw Dee there. "Dee," he said and broke into a grin.
